We are currently seeking a highly motivated, confident individual with excellent organisational skills to take on maternity cover for the role of head of marketing, advertising and events.
Reporting to the executive director, you will be responsible for the sale of advertising space on our website, through email blasts to our mailing lists, via our weekly emails and within our quarterly print publication. You will also be responsible for the line management of event support, while managing our event programme which consists of up to 19 digital and in-person events per year. You will also be responsible for line management of the subscriptions manager, overseeing concurrent marketing projects, targeting key subscription areas, and ensuring a high level of renewals amongst our subscribers. Alongside this, there will be opportunities to represent Alliance at external events both in the UK and abroad.
The successful candidate will have strong, persuasive oral and written communication skills, enjoy working in a small team, and have excellent organisation and time-management. The candidate will be a willing participant in all APT discussions and play an active part in driving the organisation forward.

Marketing & sales
- Lead responsibility for the marketing strategy to grow the circulation of Alliance

About the Team:
The Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA), hosted by WaterAid, is global initiative that aims to:
- Address the climate impacts on water to strengthen resilience in vulnerable communities;
- Secure greater investment from public and private sources in water infrastructure and services;

About the Role:
As Communication and Advocacy Manager you will help to draw links between our work in country and the much needed action on international finance for climate resilience. You will be ready to engage strategically with influential governments and organisations to influence their policies and practices as they relate to water.
As a leader on communications you will be a critical part of the RWA’s global team — helping to link the different parts of the RWA together and co-ordinate with our partners around the world. You will ensure the team has a line of sight to the relevant policies and initiatives affecting the RWA’s work, and that there is clear, consistent and compelling messaging of the Accelerator through different communications channels. They will bring a fresh and inventive approach lead the communication of that thought leadership with key stakeholders. You will lead internal communications with WaterAid and the Steering Committee and work with colleagues across WaterAid’s network to build awareness of the Accelerator’s work. This will be vital to amplifying our messaging around global water security and climate adaptation. As this work is in its early stages, a flexible approach to the team’s work will be helpful, adjusting to changing priorities and progress on the ground.
The position will be hosted by WaterAid, which has been acting as the Accelerator’s interim host until an agreement with a long-term host has been finalized.
The successful candidate will:
- Take the lead on development and delivery of the Accelerator’s communications and advocacy strategy as a key measureable output
- Initiate the creation of an advocacy “campaign” to ensure awareness of the RWA its objectives – drawing on our work.
- Lead in publication materials and branding

We are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to support the Head of Membership Engagement in the overall development and delivery of commercial revenue streams at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. This will include all current sponsorship for conferences, including our flagship Fundraising Convention, corporate membership, and strategic partnerships.

This role focuses on identifying and securing new income generation opportunities with Corporate Partners across strategic, commercial and charity of the year style collaborations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and secure income from new corporate organisations and achieve new business targets
- Identify new corporate opportunities to add to the new business corporate pipeline
- Pro-actively engage new businesses using a range of methods: e.g. working with senior stakeholders, events, networking, cold calls, emails, LinkedIn
- Develop and strengthen warm relationships with prospective funders and find opportunities to engage them in the work of UK Youth
- Develop corporate bids, budgets and proposals, managing the process across different teams, cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Create and present high quality, persuasive funding bids to C-suite audiences and senior stakeholders
- Present and attend meetings alongside senior leaders and stakeholders at UK Youth
- Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to identifying new streams of income from different corporate audiences
- Work with the Senior Partnerships Manager to develop the corporate partnerships offer beyond income generation, identifying opportunities for corporate partners to offer their skills and expertise to further UK Youth’s charitable objectives
- Ensure all donations are accurately recorded and recognised, working closely with the finance team
- Ensure that the CRM is up to date and accurate at all times
- Keep up to date with trends, research and data on fundraising and corporate partnerships, helping to inform long-term strategy
Experience we're after
- Demonstratable experience in a sales or corporate fundraising role, working on six – seven figure proposals
- Proven track record of corporate partnerships fundraising/ securing sales targets from new organisations
- Experience of working in a busy and deadline-driven environment and achieving ambitious targets
- Experience negotiating, pitching and presenting to senior (C-suite) internal and external stakeholders

Who are we looking for?

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.

About the role
We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Group Finance Director holds a key role in the executive team in the Foundation Office of the Charity. They are accountable for all matters relating to the UWGCF Charity finance, including the oversight of school income, endowment investments, loans, subsidiary companies, VAT, and the leadership of the Foundation finance team. To succeed in the job, the post holder needs to build effective working relationships with independent school bursars and finance teams and link effectively with the Business managers in the state funded academies.
The UWGCF is a complex organisation, and the post holder will need to demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build effective and supportive working relationships with other and be prepared to engage fully in the work of the Foundation. This may mean working outside of normal working hours but most importantly means communicating and work with colleagues as part of the team.
Initially they will report to the Chair of Trustees, although following a Governance Review and further work on Foundation Strategy, the Trustees may appoint a Foundation CEO.
