Purpose of role
The International Board are seeking a senior International Fundraising Director with significant experience in major donor fundraising who will help drive the organisation’s fundraising strategy by strengthening and diversifying its fundraising sources. The Mission requires an experienced leader with a proven track record in international fundraising who will inspire our teams to differentiate and grow income as the organisation enters a new phase of strategic growth. The International Fundraising Director – with this focus on Major Donors - will provide leadership, oversight and guidance to the Mission’s national country fundraising directors - working with the International Director of Communication and Individual Fundraising and the wider fundraising team. They will work with major international donors and engage with field countries on targeted local fundraising and impact reporting.
As a strong communicator and strategic thinker with significant practical and direct fundraising experience, this Director will serve as a key member of the International Executive Team and report to the CEO and indirectly, the Mission Without Borders (MWB) International Board. They will have significant practical experience working with major donors, trusts and foundations, institutional and corporate fundraising.
Primary responsibilities
Donor development and outreach
· To provide strategic direction, leadership and drive for fundraising in all new development areas across the Mission. They will have direct responsibility for raising funds at the international level, leading cross organizational initiatives with a specific focus on major donors, trusts, and foundations - as this is currently an underdeveloped source of income for the Mission.
· Create coherent strategic plans for driving income growth, diversifying income sources and improving donor engagement, with a focus on major donors.
· Develop and implement fundraising policies and procedures, particularly around major donors to ensure local and international consistency and compliance.
· Drive a relational fundraising culture by implementing systems and reporting to deliver effective supporter journeys with a focus on major donors.
· Lead in understanding of fundraising trends and working with wider fundraising team and national directors to improve agility in response to these trends.
· Understand and engage in program delivery needs and impact to ensure that donor and beneficiary journeys are linked and opportunities for major donor fundraising are deliverable.
· Utilize digital resources to drive engagement, reporting and strategy delivery.
· Be an active speaker at fundraising community events, conferences, and donor events.
Communications and marketing in major donors work and other areas within responsibility
· Drive the Mission’s communications and marketing strategy to achieve strategic objectives in major donors and in other areas within responsibility to include oversight of Mission websites to ensure accessible content, consistency in fundamentals across fundraising countries, strong user experience and improved digital engagement and giving for major donor initiatives.
Budgeting and reporting
· Have oversight of the annual and rolling five-year budgets for areas under responsibility to ensure local and international fundraising achieve overall strategic goals for income and related expenditure.
· Work closely with the CFO and CEO, Director of Individual Fundraising, and other senior executive personnel to drive annual planning and budgeting process.
· Drive consistency in restricted and unrestricted giving reporting.
Leadership and management
· Work with the International Executive team to drive Mission’s International Strategy.
· Collaborate and coach National Fundraising directors.
· Nurture team members in excellence in operational tasks as well as personal development, ensuring an engaged and fulfilled team.
· Participate in Mission events, training, and conferences to engage and inspire peers to drive strategic goals and ensure best practice.
· Network in the fundraising community.
Experience and Skills
· Relevant degree or equivalent in experience.
· Strong management and leadership skills, with a servant heart.
· Senior level experience as part of an international leadership team and managing international teams in complex environments.
· Proven experience working with major donors (£20,000+), trusts, foundations, institutional donors and corporates.
· Development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for fundraising, marketing and communications.
· Budgetary creation, management, monitoring and control.
· Brand development experience desired.
· History of work experience in an organisation with a similar ethos to MWB.
· Global knowledge of legislation, regulations and best practice in fundraising and marketing.
Personal traits desired

Join Operation Smile UK as our Senior Acquisition Manager and make a difference in the lives of children. We're searching for a fundraising professional with experience in acquiring new donors through a variety of fundraising channels including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops. You'll be responsible for managing a £2.4 million budget and developing innovative strategies to increase individual cash and regular giving support. This role is not responsible for the supervision or direction of staff.
Operation Smile is a global nonprofit specialising in cleft surgery and care. We provide medical training, education and mentorship to surgical teams around the world, along with expertise, research and care through our staff and volunteers, working alongside local governments, nonprofits and health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive recruitment of regular givers and cash givers to grow income and supporter volumes, in a multi-channel programme including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising channels, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops.
- Manage relationships with agency partners executing acquisition campaigns on behalf of Operation Smile UK for the betterment of the acquisition programme.
- Lead and execute our door-to-door (F2F) programme with the goal of expanding this form of acquisition fundraising over the coming years.

- To ensure that campaigns are where possible integrated or co-ordinated thematically, creatively and/or by target audience to maximise impact.

About the role
We’re looking for a Media and Communications Officer to join our Media and PR team.
As a member of the team, you'll have a fundamental role in helping us to deliver on our promise to support young people and their families to deal with the impact of cancer, both during and beyond treatment.
This role, working together with other members of the Policy, Communications and Voice directorate and the wider charity, will help us achieve this by amplifying the voices and experiences of children and young people with cancer, influencing the system to create change and raising awareness and funds.

What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of the charity’s strategic media plan.
- Developing and implementing creative, effective communications plans for campaigns and projects, in-line with the charity’s overall strategic objectives.
- Writing materials for a range of on and offline channels and platforms including press releases, features, articles, opinion pieces and statements; ensuring these reflect Young Lives vs Cancer’s values and key messages.
- Developing real life stories based on the experience of children and young people, and their families, including interviewing, writing up and arranging photography and film content for use across the charity.
- Establishing quality effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including Media and News outlets, journalists and charity partners.
- Participating in the reactive news desk rota, responding to urgent media enquiries and providing advice to staff and senior managers in order to promote and guard the charity’s reputation. This includes taking part in the out of hours rota as required

Growing Well is a farm-based mental health charity originating on Low Sizergh Farm near Kendal and recently expanding to a second site at Tebay Services (Northbound), and a third in Egremont, West Cumbria.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Manager for Growing Well's site at Tebay Services (Northbound) in the Eden Valley, on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
The role of the Manager (Tebay) is to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations at Growing Well’s 1.5-acre Tebay site and ensure that at all times our site is safe, productive, excellently maintained and efficiently run. This includes:
- Safe and efficient service delivery
- Effective delivery of annual crop plan and supply chain management
- Financial management of the Tebay enterprise
- Legal and Health and Safety management of the site
- Manage the delivery of therapeutic activity, skills development and support for up to 100 Volunteers (beneficiaries) per week.
- Line manage Tebay staff team (5 direct reports).
- Manage local fundraising and marketing initiatives with support from Growing Well Development Team colleagues.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a culture of respect, inclusion and security.
This is a 12-month contract commencing January 2025, but there is some flexibility on start dates for the right person.

We are seeking a Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser to join our passionate and dedicated fundraising team. Your role will be pivotal in securing vital funds for the hospice by developing and maintaining meaningful, positive relationships with grant-making organisations and individual supporters. You will research and apply to appropriate trusts and foundations while leading the identification of new grant opportunities.
Hours of work: This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday with the very occasional evening or weekend for Events.

Home-Start UK has a wide portfolio of grant funders, who support our work with grants and donations of around £2m each year. This income funds brilliant projects right across the Home-Start movement, from groups for army families, to volunteer perinatal mental health training, to large-scale initiatives to increase volunteer numbers. Our Trusts and Statutory Income team is central to the delivery and development of great support for families, and for ensuring Home-Start UK has the capacity it needs to deliver high quality services and support to our network. We are looking for someone who is organised and details-oriented, with a love of writing and who can build strong relationships with funders and colleagues.
