As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insight, advice and support to key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be a trusted adviser to non-finance teams helping them to understand financial data and make informed decisions. You will be a key element of the high-performing and credible finance team, supporting both the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant and the Assistant Accountant in operational finance and in ongoing delivery of accurate financial information on which the business partnering relies.

You will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the RCR. What you’ll do:

• Deliver a decision support service to managers and directors to deliver improved financial performance outcomes for the RCR.
• Ensure that partners use effective financial controls over their spend and income conforming to RCR’s policies and to optimise RCR’s outcomes.
• Support the partners in the production of outturn forecasts, budgets and multiyear financial plans that conform to RCR’s financial needs.
• Provide effective analytical insight and advice to partners and Head of Finance to maximise the return on investment and support for implementing change to improve outcomes.
• Supporting RCR’s regular financial and non-financial performance reporting with analytical advice, insight and commentaries.
• Support the wider finance team in delivering timely management information
• Help with system development within the finance team such as upgrades
• Cover for the Head of finance in their absence.

What you’ll need:

• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
• Experience of financial business partnering role or accounting role in comparable organisation.

Purpose of post
In 2022, IMO decided to develop deep and focused youth employment programming
to address the significant need in our community. To deliver this, we are partnering
with Impetus. The new programme supports young people from South Asian
backgrounds to bolster their opportunities for sustained education, employment and
training (EET) by providing 1:1 mentoring, family engagement and practical experience.

We are excited to recruit a leader for this programme, to develop it beyond the initial
pilot phase into a long-term, sustainable provision, build and manage local
partnerships, work with others to develop a long-term funding model, and ultimately
to support young people in securing and sustaining employment.

This is an exciting and new type of work for IMO Charity, and we are looking for
someone to take it forward. It is a strategic priority, sits on the Senior Management
Team, and will report directly to the CEO.

local community, working with the existing team and local partners to take our exciting
new employment programme for disadvantaged young people in Blackburn with
Darwen into its next phase of development and generate meaningful long-term
outcomes.

demographic; strong management, planning and communication skills and will offer a
high level of initiative and a common-sense approach to working.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and line management

• Work with CEO and other SMT members in leading the wider organisation in 1:1 and Senior Management Team meetings
• Lead on recruitment, selection and induction of new mentors
• Line managing, motivating and training mentors
• Be an ambassador for IMO, including by role-modelling its values, promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and being a visible senior leader
• Programme design and development
• Lead on strategic planning - design, development and implementation of all pillars of the Youth
• Employment programme (mentoring, family engagement and practical experience)
• Building on the initial pilot phase, determine the scope, targets and KPIs for programme over the next 3 years
• Develop all key elements of the programme including but not limited to outreach and partnerships, curriculum, quality assurance, impact management, financial resourcing
• Work with the IMO team to adapt and build on existing IMO delivery practices, and work closely with members of the wider organisation to ensure the new programme operates efficiently within all other activities
• Develop strategic relationships to build the network and pipeline of schools and potential delivery partners for the long-term benefit of the programme and its funding streams

Programme management and delivery

• Oversee the delivery of further cohorts of the IMO’s youth employment programme including:

        - Ensuring provision of high-quality, consistent delivery of all pillars
        - High-impact, meaningful opportunities sourced and scheduled to meet the needs of
          individual young people
       - Effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting

• Management of delivery staff by way of:

        - Supervising and developing delivery staff both individually and as a group
        - Managing schedules and workload
        - Problem solving any delivery issues with the relevant parties e.g. schools,
          young people and families

• Build and contribute to a culture of impact management by:

        - Maintaining and monitoring systems & KPIs to facilitate regular impact management reviews
          which gather useful and relevant data to improve programme delivery
        - Conducting regular programme reviews with the relevant team members to evaluate delivery
          and impact and make required changes to the programme
        - Report updates and relevant impact data to the team internally as well as to the board,
          external partners and other stakeholders on a regular basis

• Act as the point of contact for existing partners, strengthening & maximising relationships, dealing with day-to-day enquiries and escalating issues to the CEO when necessary
• Ensure that employer partners are well prepared to support potential candidates, including by educating them about any specific challenges and clearly aligning expectations on all sides

Develop sustainable funding model

• Support CEO to develop a sustainable funding model required to deliver IMO’s youth employment programme. This will include working with the team to conduct a review of costs to deliver an effective programme over the next 3 years
• Contribute to an income generation strategy for the youth employment programme

Wider organisational responsibilities

• Work to identify and incorporate youth voice into IMO’s work, including by encouraging candidates to share their stories, challenges and feedback on our services
• Help to secure and create case studies and other content for IMO’s social media channels, website and blogs that communicates the charity’s objectives, activities, impact and contributes to raising the profile of the charity

Overview of the role:

Working in a small team, you will play an active role in the delivery of their External Affairs programme of work, primarily delivering secretariat duties for the APPG (All Party Parliamentary Group) on Deep Geothermal, as well as contributing to wider external affairs outputs.

Your core responsibilities will be to develop and deliver APPG Secretariat duties. You will ensure members and political stakeholders are kept informed, and that administrative requirements are met. You will be responsible for organising APPG meetings in Parliament and driving forward the APPG’s programme of work, liaising with multiple stakeholders across the public sector, industry, and academia. You will also monitor the public affairs landscape and deliver ongoing External Affairs programmes.

There will be opportunities to organise and attend Parliamentary and member events and to support meetings with parliamentarians and officers. Your work will include drafting briefings, minutes, press releases, and wider correspondence for members of the team, working across media relations, digital communications, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communications. You’ll undertake parliamentary monitoring to find and highlight debates and questions of relevance to members. You will also work closely with colleagues across other departments to ensure all external affairs messaging is aligned across the organisation.

Their head office is in Holborn, London – you will be expected to work in the office at least three days a week. Occasionally, you will travel to member offices, or other UK venues, to support events hosted there.

Key tasks:

- Ensure the APPG on Deep Geothermal is well managed and meets stakeholder expectations.
- Communicate regularly with external stakeholders.

Person Specification:

This role would suit someone with some experience in politics and/or external affairs, who would like to develop their skills and expand their knowledge in the renewable energy and cleantech sector. They will be adaptable, proactive, creative thinkers, and will get the job done whilst developing constructive relationships with colleagues. Candidates are encouraged to demonstrate experience of working with or managing APPGs, select committees, or advisory boards, and of dealing with multiple external stakeholders.

Essential:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

We are recruiting for an experienced Head of Finance for our small and energetic Accounts team. The School of Philosophy and Economic Science is a registered educational charity offering courses to adults, both in person and online.

About WaterAid:
The climate crisis is a water crisis. Around the world, people are feeling the effects of climate change through water, including flooding, droughts, sea level rise, and irregular rainfall. Climate change is affecting seasonal and long-term water availability, meaning we can no longer rely on rain, river flows and aquifers. 

The Resilient Water Accelerator is an initiative designed to increase the flow of private and public finance into water projects that help the most climate-vulnerable communities build resilience to climate change. Despite the high need, only 3% of total climate finance flows go towards water. Our mission is to demonstrate the business case for increased and enhanced public and private investment in water-related deals in emerging economies that strengthen resilience for climate-vulnerable communities and are replicable so that millions more can benefit. We are working to increase the speed, scale, and replicability of water investment by creating a pipeline of bankable projects, bringing together the right mix of financing with the right commercial structures and partners, and supporting improvements in the enabling environment.

About the Team:
We are a friendly, supportive, globally distributed team, bringing on-the-ground expertise and comprehensive perspectives, combining climate policy, water economics, private finance, measurement and evaluation, and governance. We are currently housed within WaterAid – the world’s largest NGO focused on providing water, sanitation, and hygiene outcomes for people in developing countries, and are one of WaterAid’s flagship programmes. We have a close partnership with Global Development Incubator, which is providing incubation support for the RWA.

The RWA currently has 11 staff, based in 6 countries, and we have plans to build the team to around 18-20 over the next couple of years, to extend our delivery from 2 countries (currently Nigeria and Bangladesh) to 6, and to secure additional financing to complement the investment we have secured from the UK Government.

About the Role:
The Manager – Climate & Water will play an important role in this small, international team by managing the integration of ideas, policy frameworks, and findings from research and practice into the Resilient Water Accelerator (RWA)’s programmes in our target countries and at a global level. They will report directly into the RWA’s Director of Programmes and Investment, shaping and delivering the future RWA as a highly effective and impactful learning organisation.

• Project management to ensure RWA’s Programmes and Investment-related activities are delivered on time and within budget. Using agreed project management software, track and report RWA’s programme-related deliverables. 
• Conduct research and integrate findings to strengthen RWA Programmes design and delivery: Provide regular inputs and updates on water-related climate, and climate-related water policies, practices, and trends in RWA’s focus countries and target markets and at a global level using quantitative and qualitative approaches, to inform RWA’s understanding of local markets and project origination & early-stage development efforts. 
• Support the creation and rollout of tools, templates, and business processes for RWA team members to integrate climate policy and climate finance into program operations: Collaboratively design, iterate, and improve RWA’s suite of tools and methods for use throughout RWA’s programming, including but not limited to: Understanding Local Markets (ULM), which includes scoping new markets for RWA operations and maintaining an understanding of the markets where we operate; Deal Origination and Early Stage Development, to integrate climate policy and finance into local decision making about opportunities and challenges; 
• Summarize, synthesize, and effectively communicate climate and water-related ideas for internal (RWA staff & board) and external (specific & general) audiences: Support communications strategy and audience segmentation efforts; contribute to RWA’s external communications and knowledge products, to share and amplify how RWA is thinking and learning through diverse media, e.g., newsletter, blogs, field notes, podcast, social media. 

About you:

• At least 5 years’ experience working in on climate-related issues, with a preference for climate policy in middle-income countries and/or climate-related finance.
• A passion for effective Project Management, process design, and continuous improvement cycles with an organised and structured approach to work, managing deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research, analytical, and modelling skills, with an ability to summarize, synthesize, and articulate findings in clear and coherent ways for diverse audiences.
• Intellectually curious and flexible, with a willingness to explore and test diverse ideas, try new things, and approach learning with a sense of humility and humour.
• Familiarity and experience working with GIS / other large-scale datasets to create models and conduct research and analyses preferred.
• Strong written and oral communications skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural contexts. Experience facilitating virtual and in-person meetings, workshops, and trainings with diverse audiences preferred.

The role will involve developing and nurturing relationships with those who own, manage, design or have an interest in green infrastructure by proactively facilitating our networks and supporter activities to engender more effective and collaborative working, knowledge sharing, and connection.

The successful candidate will be a confident ambassador for the charity, and capable of building long term partnerships. The post holder will need to use their initiative, creativity and proven partnership building skills to enable the charity to expand and maximise the impact of its existing networks, support internal and external development, and plan and coordinate supporter-focused activities.

As part of a small charity, the successful candidate will need to be a team player, ready and willing to respond and adapt to opportunities and challenges, working closely with the rest of the Parks for London team and trustees.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver and enhance our network and engagement programme to support green space owners and managers
• Support and coordinate the administration and delivery of a range of virtual and in-person network meetings and events
• Identify and develop relationships with potential new supporters 
• Support the identification, and engagement of new audiences who could benefit from our work
• Identify and develop relationships with potential collaborators with whom we can work in partnership with, to maximise our capacity and expand our reach
• Support the sustainability of the charity by driving and maximising existing income streams as well as identifying and delivering new opportunities for income generation
• Represent Parks for London at events and wider engagement opportunities, and promote the interests of the charity, our services, and our supporters
• Keep abreast of local, regional, national and international funding opportunities to identify opportunities for both the charity and those in our networks
• Contribute to the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Parks for London and our services
• Play an active role in strategic reviews, business planning, and contribute to the wider thinking and planning of the charity

The Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust was established in 1982 to support UK registered animal welfare charities involved with the rescue, rehabilitation, release and rehoming of domestic and wild animals; the conservation of wildlife and its habitat and the promotion of the understanding of animals and their welfare. By giving to smaller organisations, relatively modest grants can have a significant impact on animals and those who care for them.

As Administrative Assistant you will work alongside the Administrator to ensure this impact is sustained by monitoring and evaluating applications from submission through to awarding and beyond. You will liaise with applicants, guiding them through the process, while also keeping in contact with our Board of Trustees. Meetings are held six times a year to agree awards and you will produce reports and summaries to aid Trustee’s decisions.

The purpose of the post is to work with a wide range of partners and volunteers to build active, more connected and resilient communities within the city of Salford. This includes recruiting, training and supporting volunteers and VCSE organisations to engage in civil contingencies and humanitarian responses within the city, and more broadly supporting the development of our volunteering work across multiple services.

Salford CVS delivers a range of projects and services that build resilient communities and encourage local people to be active citizens.

The postholder will primarily work on our Volunteering and Emergency Response activity, including the development and delivery of Salford CVS’s own volunteering programmes.
