The Access to Justice Foundation is the UK’s only national charity solely focused on providing funding and support for access to legal advice.
Working to support the Senior Development Manager, Trusts and Foundations; the Development Officer, Trusts and Foundations will help to deliver the trust and foundation fundraising strategy. The post-holder will work alongside Development colleagues to identify funding opportunities both in the UK and internationally. The post-holder will have responsibility for securing significant new funds to support the strategic priorities of our £300 million fundraising campaign which covers a wide range of areas. This work will focus particularly on proposals for four and five figure gifts.
The post-holder will assist the Senior Development Manager, Trusts and Foundations, in cultivating currently engaged and new trusts, foundations and charities. The post-holder will have experience of trust and foundation fundraising accompanied by a sound knowledge of university fundraising. Leadership

Would you like to be part of our Programmes and Advocacy team, supporting our exciting global strategy to make Leprosy and Lymphatic Filariasis diseases of little consequence? If your answer is yes, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for a Programmes Officer to join our team. You will have the following knowledge and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in project coordination, preferably in the health; humanitarian or in the international development sector.
- Ability to plan, execute, monitor, and evaluate projects effectively.
- Experience in coordinating multiple tasks and managing timelines effectively.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting is an advantage.
- Experience with statistical analysis software or GIS mapping tools.
The purpose of the role is to provide essential support to a small, dedicated team within the UK Programmes and Advocacy team, facilitating the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects aimed at addressing leprosy and LF. Working closely with the Senior Programme Manager, MEAL Manager, Advocacy Manager, and Research and Technical Advisor, the Programmes Officer will ensure seamless coordination of activities, enhance data-driven decision-making processes, and contribute to impactful advocacy and research initiatives.

The salary for this position is £26,999 (FTE) – Lead Level. We have fully embraced flexible working and the role can be either fully remote, hybrid or fully based at our Colchester offices. We offer a lot of flexibility in working practices and there is free reserved parking available. We also offer
26 days annual leave plus public holidays (pro-rated), pension, and support from an in-house well-being team.

Summary of the role:
As the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer, you will support the MEAL Manager in implementing and developing Muslim Aid's MEAL system. Your role involves strengthening project monitoring, guiding Country Offices and Partners, and ensuring quality and compliance with humanitarian standards. You will also support data collection, analysis, and the measurement of progress against global and departmental strategies, contributing to accountability, learning, and effective service delivery. Additionally, you will work closely with partners and donors to enhance systems within the global programme portfolio of Muslim Aid.
About the Role:
- Collaborate with the MEAL Manager, Programmes team, country offices, and partners to design MEAL systems that align with project goals, MAUK’s global objectives, and local needs, ensuring they are measurable, relevant, and grant-compliant.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of MEAL requirements and capacities, working with focal points and programme leads to enable real-time programme adjustments and system enhancements.
- Support the regular and accurate updating of the MA MEAL system (TolaData) in coordination with country offices and partner focal points.
- Assist in monitoring programme progress by designing MEAL plans, indicators, targets, timelines, and data collection tools.
- Support the preparation of terms of reference for evaluations, case studies, and impact assessments in coordination with focal points.
- Assist the MEAL Manager in building MEAL capacity among staff and partners.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate degree in international development, sustainable livelihoods, humanitarianism, or programme management preferred.
- Understanding of development programmes design, implementation and evaluation.
- Experience with logical/results frameworks, indicators, and MEAL plans.
- Experience developing logical/results frameworks, indicators, and MEAL plans.
- Proficient in teamwork, measurement, analytical thinking, planning, and organisation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective in diverse and challenging environments.
