We have a fantastic opportunity for an Insight Manager to lead the delivery of Friends of the Earth’s organisational insight. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategic approach that shapes and informs our activity, enabling campaigning, income generation, and marketing activity to achieve maximum impact.
This is a hands-on leadership role. Therefore, strong analytical skills are required, along with the ability to manage a team of analysts and influence strategic direction at the leadership level. We’re looking for someone with a track record of success using data to inform strategic and tactical improvements in engagement activity.
Friends of the Earth has invested in strategic data management and reporting over the last few years, resulting in a modern self-service data reporting platform using PowerBI, supported by a data warehouse. We are nearing the launch of our new Microsoft Dynamics CRM, which will enable us to better track and coordinate all our activity and strive towards continuous improvement in our work.
Key Skills and Attributes:
The successful candidate will have a track record of success in using supporter/customer data to support offline and digital marketing segmentation and campaigns in a supporter/customer focused organisation.
You will be able to effectively lead an analytical team via proactive planning and prioritisation, with a focus on outcomes.
With excellent stakeholder management skills, you will have the ability to build strong working relationships and to influence and negotiate across the organisation and externally in a hybrid setting.
The team:
You will manage a small team of Analysts and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to further their impact through insight and reporting. Your team sits within the Income Generation Directorate, but the scope of your work is cross-organisational.

About the role
We are looking for a proactive individual to join our team. You will support impact measurement and evaluation across a suite of over 20 Young Enterprise programmes and services, plus fundraising, marketing, volunteering and alumni activity. Position
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Senior Regional Engagement Manager to lead our dynamic UK field force, offering clear and supportive management to ensure high performance, and supporting our growth efforts in existing and new global markets.
As an integral part of IChemE’s management team, the role holder will represent the organisation’s key field force, supporting and driving operations through frequent liaison with other IChemE management, functional teams, member groups and committees. They will be a key contributor to achieving IChemE’s strategic goals
Alongside team leadership responsibilities, the role holder will develop and deliver their own regional strategy, working with regional HEIs, employers, and other priority partners to identify, nurture and grow sustainable relationships and engagement opportunities that positively impact IChemE’s member recruitment, engagement, and retention.
This is a field based role and as such extensive business travel will be involved, including a requirement to frequently attend the IChemE offices in Rugby and / or London.
This role is for a fixed term of 12 months in the first instance, with potential to extend to a permanent role subject to achievement of key deliverables.
Requirements
Our ideal candidates will have:
- A minimum of Degree level education
- At least 5 years work experience or proven practical and diverse work experience in a related field
- Be highly proficient and confident in people and change management
They will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:
- Experience and sound working knowledge of chemical, biochemical, process engineering and / or related sectors
- Experience developing and driving business plans to support execution of strategic plans
- At least 5 years’ experience working in a member engagement, business development, or sales-related role
- Proven experience forming partnerships and networks at the highest level with other organisations which bring mutual benefit
- Proven experience in leading a key account management framework
·Line management experience and ability to lead and motivate a team of individuals.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering and reporting against ambitious targets, KPI’s, budgets and deadlines
- High level of IT literacy including common Microsoft Office applications, on-line conferencing, web-meetings, and bespoke membership/customer databases
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Employer engagement: through world class key account management, identify and develop links with a growing number and breadth of employer partners to grow our member base and increase engagement – going beyond the norm into new markets.
- Regional member development: key accountability for member growth at all grades in UK regions and beyond.

About you

You’re also used to optimising and reviewing campaigns and aren’t afraid to share both failures and successes. You’ll be highly collaborative, flexible and diplomatic in your approach to managing internal and external stakeholders to deliver results.
What’s more, you excel in analysis and intelligent use of data, are great at utilising insight, including the motivations, interests and behaviours of supporters to guide decisions and have a demonstrated knowledge of project management and development, and will be able to manage multiple projects at once.
You’re happy to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas, methods and processes too, like to horizon scan and keep ahead of emerging trends and are comfortable working in matrix teams.

- Ability to plan campaigns and communications that engage, motivate and inspire mobilisation from a range of supporters/customers.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for mass fundraising through enabling individuals and communities to support ARUK through their own talents and passions. The team drives registrations and income through third party, virtual and mass participation events and manages these relationships to maximise income.
The Central Fundraising Team is the beating heart of SLF as they work across Regional, Sporting Events and Marketing & Engagement teams to ensure our supporters receive incredible stewardship to achieve their fundraising goals. They ensure processes are in place to allow teams to work together effectively and maximise opportunities and innovation that come through online fundraising platforms and fundraisers.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Line Management
· Line management of two Central Fundraising Executives and Senior Central Fundraising Officer.
· Monitor, review, and empower the team to ensure effective communication and place CFT as the heart of SLF.
· Support all CFT to reach their non-financial targets.
· Work with Senior Manager and Senior officer to deliver monthly meetings with the whole team to share ideas and creativity, gather feedback and understand successes and challenges.
· Spot potential development opportunities across the team.
Monitoring and Reporting
· Ensure the fundraising CRM is being used consistently across CFT the wider SLF department to facilitate accurate supporter stewardship and financial reporting.
· Effectively understand and communicate reporting processes undertaken by the CFT and gather feedback to ensure these are the most effective for both teams.
· Act as Lead for the Fundraising CRM use for the Community Fundraising Managers, RFOs and Central Fundraising Team to allow accurate, insightful, and consistent reporting.
· Provide the CFT and regionally based teams with the tools they need for effective working relationships.
· Provide a monthly Department Report update for CFT as well as ad-hoc reporting when required.
· Use data and trends to support the SLF leadership team in in budgeting and forecasting.
· Work closely with the Data and Digital teams to monitor SLF’s contactable supporter base and segmentation.
· Assess and address Salesforce training needs across SLF
· Proactively Identify and Resolve Salesforce Issues, escalating to Senior Central Fundraising Manager where appropriate.
Supporter Stewardship
· Lead on the delivery of a unified approach to supporter care across SLF, including use of data, automation, product development and LTV.
· Monitor and gather feedback from employees and supporters about our stewardship and ‘surprise and delight’ offerings, constantly seeking creative and inspirational new stewardship methods and relevant improvements.
· Coordinate the re-engagement stewardship project for all SLF teams, with structured content input from Managers and direction from the CFM responsible for DIY fundraising.
· Inspire and train the CFT to nurture active fundraisers and build relationships to increase long-term loyalty.
· Frequently analyse and understand SLF supporter journeys to ensure they are consistent, ensure collaboration and idea sharing and offer the best level of stewardship for the supporter.
· Understand and analyse how RFOs and CFT steward supporters through to ensure cohesion, passing of leads between teams and sharing best practice across the wider team at all times
· Regularly review and analyse the supporter chase process to ensure we are receiving funds in a timely manner.
· Review and analyse the tiering system regularly to ensure it is fit for purpose and is offering the supporter the best stewardship journey.
· Lead on the implementation of recommendations from the annual mystery shopping exercise.
Project Management
· Become the lead for projects which involve the whole or majority of SLF to ensure tasks are delegated fairly and completed on time. Examples include Skydiving Days and Last Hour of Pay as well as platforms such as Tiltify and GivePanel.
· Be the central expert for SLF-wide process and projects, gathering experience and knowledge from all SLF teams and provide efficient and helpful updates accordingly.
Strategy and Operational Planning
· Provide creative and innovative suggestions for new supporter engagement and online fundraising products and projects. Work closely with the Senior Officers to implement and see through to completion.
· Identify opportunities for growth and diversification within the Online Fundraising space.
· Make recommendations on team structure and resource as part of the Ops Planning process.
· Work with the Director of Supporter-led fundraising to develop our strategic approach to innovation around digital and gaming channels.
Collaboration
· Support the CFT Senior Officer in overseeing the joint working between the Central Fundraising Team, the Regional Fundraising Officers and the Sporting Events Officers ensuring that supporters are given the best level of stewardship.
· Work closely with the Marketing & Engagement Team to share trends, learnings and collaborate on new projects and automated stewardship journeys.
· Continue to improve communications across all departments to ensure all resources are available across all teams.
· To ensure the team is the centre point of SLF and sharing communications regularly and have a good understanding of what is happening across each department.
· Work closely with managers from SLF Departments to ascertain workloads for the rest of CFT and ensure support is consistent across the department. To gain feedback from the different departments as to how processes are working and review for potential changes.
· Continue to review the level of support the team will offer to each SLF Department and ensure this is followed.
· Monitoring CFT and RFO KPIs/Goals to ensure consistency.

In this role, you will support our multi-disciplinary Marketing team in delivering marketing campaigns across a range of channels. You will work on a variety of marketing projects including delivery of creative materials, briefs, and delivering and monitoring campaigns. You’ll provide the administrative support, processes, information and materials needed to achieve the team’s objectives.
