Job Purpose
Support the Fundraising Manager in the successful delivery of fundraising activities in line with Bipolar Scotland’s ambitious strategy and business plan.
Summary
The Fundraising Officer will play an integral part in the success of our small but vibrant national charity by maximising income from Corporate and Community based stakeholders. The post holder will focus primarily on developing corporate engagement, sponsorship and donations, but will also grow our Community fundraising arm and support the work of other income streams. The Fundraising Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of operational plans in support of the organisation’s strategic aim to Grow & Improve. The Fundraising Officer will achieve agreed financial targets and collaborate with colleagues and external partners as required.
Key responsibilities but not limited to:
- To proactively support the Fundraising Manager in developing and delivering a robust and ambitious fundraising strategy.
- Be an enthusiastic and professional first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries.
- Proactively research and explore new opportunities and partnerships for corporate and community support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of corporate and community fundraising opportunities.
- Steward relationships with corporate funders and community fundraisers, encouraging them to become long term supporters of Bipolar Scotland.
- Maintain accurate mailing lists and other doner care records to ensure they are up to date with valid GDPR consent.
- Attend corporate and community events and cheque presentations and confidently prepare and deliver presentations/talks as required.
- Develop high quality and effective fundraising materials and products in line with organisational guidelines.
- Meet agreed fundraising targets and KPI’s and contribute towards the delivery of team KPI’s.
- Produce fundraising reports for senior management and our Board of Trustees.
- Manage existing volunteers, and the recruitment, training, and induction of new volunteers.
- Support the wider work of Fundraising and Marketing.
- Any other related duties requested by the Fundraising Manager.
Experience Required
- Working in a fundraising role either in a voluntary or paid capacity.

A specialist Arts University based in central London is seeking an IT Support Manager for a full-time permanent role. The organisation is a prestigious arts focused University with around 600 students. They have two sites – one being the main teaching campus near Kings Cross, the other an art gallery with some teaching capacity, on the Strand.
The role is paying a starting salary of £50,942 per annum plus an excellent package including a leading pension and 36 days annual leave. The role will be based onsite predominantly at the Kings Cross site – working from home 1 day per week may be considered.
Reporting to the Head of Information Services, Systems & Technology (ISS&T) and working in a small IT team of around 5 people, this role line manages 1 IT Support Officer and takes the lead on the service delivery aspects of the IT team. This covers frontline user support and managing the daily operations of the IT function. The organisation predominantly deploy Windows devices, but they have an increasing number of MACs so experience of supporting IOS would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will come from an IT Support/Manager background, should have experience managing small teams, and should have a strong user focus and service delivery background. Experience from within the Higher Education, Arts, Charity, or Membership sector would be advantageous for the role. The role will also involve the development of a new asset management tool and leading on a telephony focused project.
The post holder will:
-Manage the Service Desk for both sites and the relationship with the 3rd party providers
-Monitor and report on existing service to assist in developing the IT & AV Support Service
-Provide professional and technical leadership and operational management to the IT Helpdesk team with a dotted line to the AV Support team
-Implement service standards and develop common systems and processes based on industry best practice.
-Ensure that the IT & AV Support Service is efficient, effective and can adapt to changing circumstances.
-Work alongside the Project Manager and IT Operations Manager in the delivery of IT projects
-Provide technical, project and administrative support to the Head of ISS&T
-Maintain and administer Active Directory and Entra user and service accounts

Candidate requirements:
-Degree level qualification and ITIL qualifications desirable
-Recent proven experience of leading and developing an effective IT Support team and helpdesk service in a complex environment. Including setting targets, identifying training needs and delivering development plans
-Good technical knowledge of various hardware and software technologies including Windows, desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, MFDs, Microsoft OS, Mac OS, Microsoft Active Directory, M365, and Adobe.
-Recent experience in a Service Delivery role with experience of managing, allocating and monitoring IT support tickets, setting KPIs to improve service delivery, managing underperforming teams and suppliers, setting up new services such as staff onboarding, asset management, procurement etc & managing 3rd party suppliers
-Experience or an interest in the higher education, arts or charity sector advantageous

The role

It is desirable that you will be experienced in the third sector and be good at building relationships with a proven track record of securing new income however if you have transferrable skills and are looking to get into the Charity sector then this role might be for you! About You
An excellent writer with the ability to develop persuasive proposals, you will be responsible for making funding applications to trusts and foundations and providing funding impact reports as required. You will be an experienced fundraiser with a strong understanding of effective trust fundraising techniques, sound analytical skills and a meticulous eye for detail with experience of achieving financial targets. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and effective relationships with funders and colleagues. You will be a strong communicator and creative thinker with the ability to work calmly under pressure and synthesise complex information to inspire a variety of audiences.

Due to growth , a new post has been created for an Assistant Accountant to join the team. As Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for proactively supporting the Finance Manager in the effective management of the charity’s finance function. You will work on a variety of accounting areas including management accounts. The organisation offers some great benefits including study support. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible working options considered, however travel to their central London office is expected once a week.
Who are we looking for?
Ideally, candidates will have 2 years’ experience in Management Accounting or a Financial Accounting role. You will possess advanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) and the ability to use IT to ensure personal effectiveness is essential for this role. Having a part accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and experience of using Xero accounting package would be an advantage although not essential. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail and be able to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial managers. Experience of a similar role within the charity sector would also be a bonus however it is not essential for the role.

What does this role entail?
- To build partnerships and accelerate the growth of income from major donors. This is a crucial role to support the charity’s 10 year strategy.
- The successful candidate will cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing investors, as well as identifying and engaging HNWIs and philanthropic foundations (at the five and six figure level) to secure funding.
- The successful candidate will work with the team to help unlock the full potential of the philanthropy programme and raise the profile of the charity externally.
