To be successful in this role, you will be a chartered accountant with excellent strategic finance skills gained at a leadership level, including substantial prior experience in P&L management, financial modelling and project accounting in a fast-paced environment. You will also bring strong controls and governance experience, with an understanding of what good looks like in finance. With exceptional relationship building skills, you will be a trusted advisor to staff at all levels and confident in presenting to influential internal and external stakeholders. As Senior Education Officer you will support the development, delivery and evaluation of the Society’s education programme. This includes organising online and in person training sessions and coordinating the development and maintenance of online education resource.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining an overview of Society education projects and providing input as required
- Playing a key role in the development and delivery of the Society’s education programmes (online and in person events, online learning resources). The successful candidate will have experience in project management, event logistics and management, both online and in person and will be happy working with third party suppliers, as well as volunteers, with the ability to work with a diverse range of people at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key as is experience of CMS and updating websites. Experience working with e-learning platforms/LMS would be beneficial but is not crucial.

The Role
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the team, working 17.5 hours per week.
Young lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We currently use a hybrid working model. This role falls under the hybrid - variable category. This role is part home, part site based (your contractual base will be both Home and Addenbrooke’s Hospital). You will have the opportunity to work remotely / from home within the parameters of our hybrid working arrangements. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at the interview stage.
The office-based working will be at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, to provide support to children and young people (0-24 years, with a focus on children) diagnosed with cancer and leukaemia, and their families.

About You

About the role
We’re looking for a Fundraising Engagement Manager to join our Regional Fundraising team.
This is a role of variety, opportunity and innovation, and we are looking for someone who embraces change and constantly strives to achieve more.
You will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Regional Engagement’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver an excellent experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.
South & West Yorkshire is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families from Sheffield and Leeds hospitals, so building relationships with these teams are a must.
Candidates should live within South & West Yorkshire, in one of the following counties: Bradford, Doncaster, Halifax, Leeds, Sheffield, Oldham or Wakefield.

We are currently looking to recruit an exceptional, professional and highly motivated Deputy Chief Finance Officer to provide leadership and support to the Chief Finance Officer and wider Finance team. Each year we are entrusted with over £850 million of public money and you will play a crucial role in ensuring we achieve the maximum possible value for our patients.
In conjunction with the Chief Finance Officer, the Deputy Chief Finance Officer is responsible for providing a fully comprehensive financial management service to the organisation to develop and implement the Trust's overall financial and commercial strategies.
You will support the CFO to develop and deliver the finance strategy, which supports delivery of the overall Trust strategy. This includes ensuring that resources are effectively deployed to provide the best possible care and value for money for our patients.
The role will provide leadership to the finance function including a focus on leadership and culture, talent and skills development, and recruitment and retention.

About You
To succeed in this role you will:
* Be a qualified accountant with significant experience working in a large, complex organisation and ideally experience of providing expert advice on both strategic and operational matters relating to all aspects of the finance and commercial portfolio.

As Director of Finance and Operations, you will:
- Be responsible for planning for long term financial sustainability and growth
- Be responsible for budgeting to maximise use of financial resources towards achieving charitable objectives
- Provide financial reports and management accounts to trustees, working closely with the treasurer to ensure that information provided is sufficient and appropriate for strategic oversight
- Be responsible for strategic planning to provide best staff resource possible for delivery of charitable objectives
- Maximise use of automation for efficiency and accuracy across the organisation, ensuring systems are developed accordingly
- Manage and lead the Finance and Operations team
The successful applicant will:
- Have Significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role
- Be a fully qualified accountant
- Have the ability to interpret financial reports and communicate to non-experts in finance
- Have strong IT skills, including knowledge of system integration and automation
- Have solid experience of budgeting and strategic planning
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The roots of today's charity grew from one shop, on Battersea Park Road, opened in 1992. The shop's objective was to raise funds to support the Wandsworth Oasis AIDS Care Centre. The CEO will be reporting to the Co-Chairs and directly line managing the Head of Income Generation and the Finance Manager. The post holder will have responsibility for the management and statutory compliance of the organisation which is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The CEO is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organisation as delegated by the Board, including the management of people and resources and operation of the shops. Mission and Strategy:
- With the Board and staff, shape the organisation's strategic and operational plans and lead their successful implementation.
- Optimise income streams and reserves to guarantee the charity's sustainability and development.
- Manage Wandsworth Oasis's grants programme to organisations and individuals, from application stage through to reporting from grantee organisations to ensure they achieve measurable impact.
Leadership and Governance
- Promote and role-model a positive and professional and compassionate workplace culture
- Work with the Co-Chairs to develop the Board and good governance practice and upholding regulatory requirements.
- Oversight of volunteer strategy and ongoing management of volunteers
Influencing and External relations
- Champion prevention of HIV, removal of stigma associated with HIV and the need for high quality support for people living with HIV.
- Maintain Wandsworth Oasis's external profile and influence with grantee organisations and applicants, other organisations in the HIV space, local stakeholders and networks where the charity operates.

About the role:
The Trusts and Major Donor Fundraiser will help the hospice achieve its ambitious funding goals to increase patient care through maximising grant and donation income from public bodies and charitable trusts. The existing trusts and grant fundraising programme currently raises c. £150,000 per annum. This really is a lovely opportunity to come in to cover the current postholder who has things in a really good place. There will be the opportunity for some crossover so you'll have a working handover.

Alongside the Fundraising Manager and Individual Giving Fundraiser, you'll have opportunity to develop, from scratch, a mid-level appeal programme from which you can grow the major gifts programme.

You'll be a flexible and resilient team player, adept at putting together compelling cases for support and presenting complex information both verbally and in written form. Our ideal candidate will nurture relationships with existing and potential supporters, creating sustainable income from loyal donors.
Ideally, we're looking for someone with experience of trust and/or major donor fundraising or bid writing. We'd also be happy to consider candidates with transferable skills from other fundraising streams or the commercial sector.
