We are seeking a dynamic, experienced programme coordinator to lead our Travelling with Confidence grant, engaging and empowering disabled people, promoting independent mobility, using rail and connecting modes. Working with our members and partners you will coordinate and support the delivery of this important programme, helping to ensure it is participatory, empowering, effective and well-evaluated, while sharing learnings and building a lasting legacy.
Responsibilities
Programme coordination, delivery and monitoring and evaluation:
- Ensure good coordination and communication between delivery partners and support their high-quality delivery in line with timeframes and requirements, including via steering group meetings and individual support.
- Offer support, guidance and ideas to our delivery partners to assist their work, helping them to build capacity and confidence and meet their objectives. This includes support to engage with, and draw on the experiences, ideas and voices of disabled people.
- Support delivery partners in establishing co-creation principles and empowering ways of working for their projects, and drawing up theories of change, drawing on good practice and expertise.
- Work with stakeholders at all levels to facilitate positive collaboration and help develop our wider network while supporting project objectives and raising awareness about this work.
- Produce communications content to support project delivery, such as case studies and blogs, and work with our Communications and Policy team to promote the programme, its achievements, and amplify the voices/views/needs of the disabled people engaged.
- Set up and run an accompanying small grant fund (using/adapting our existing processes and systems) for other community rail partnerships/groups to deliver travel confidence initiatives with disabled people. Provide similar support and advice to those grant-funded to that offered to the core delivery partners, in line with their needs.
- Support monitoring, data collection and meaningful evaluation by all core and grant-funded delivery partners, ensuring this is in line with project reporting requirements, and serves our goals around legacy-building and empowering those involved.
- Monitor and review project objectives, troubleshooting any issues in a timely manner.
- Financial management of the grant budget, managing internal (Community Rail Network) budget spend as well as monitoring the delivery partner budgets in partnership with the project leads, ensuring these are in line with agreed grant funding.
Grant administration, reporting and liaison
- Maintain and develop relations with our grant provider, ensuring we meet reporting deadlines and other requirements (such as attendance at progress meetings).
- Work with project partners to agree the data set requirements and outcome parameters for evaluation, and provide suitable reporting tools.
- Completion of grant reports and financial statements, including coordinating and reviewing project delivery data (from project partners).
Evaluation and legacy building
- Produce guidance and tools to support wider delivery across community rail and beyond, working with our member support and communications teams.
- Work with colleagues, members and partners to raise wider awareness about the project and its findings and build a legacy. This includes set up and delivery of a member webinar (with support from the events team) to share project experiences.
Team and partnership working (as relevant and appropriate)
- Contribute to the wider objectives and development of Community Rail Network by sharing project progress and learning and offering advice and input. Work with our member support & development team to help embed lessons from the project and improve our ongoing support for members on rail confidence initiatives and the involvement and empowerment of disabled people.
- Feed into our senior team on strategic insights and ideas emerging from the programme to help us advocate for more inclusive, confident (rail) travel for disabled people.
- Attend, and support, community rail events (internal and external) to develop knowledge and understanding of the movement and its role.
- Contribute to the development of our internal systems (e.g. spreadsheets, CRM) such as by data capturing relevant contacts and details.
- As a member of the Community Rail Network team, assist with more general work as needed.
Skills and competencies
- A proven track record in project management, including coordinating between multiple delivery partners and ensuring project/funding requirements are met, and supporting/overseeing effective monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrable experience in supporting community projects, ideally related to inclusion and mobility, including working with disabled people.
- A good understanding of and confidence using community engagement, local communications, project planning and evaluation techniques.
- The ability to collaborate and communicate with community groups and other local partners, draw on their views and expertise, and support them to deliver effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate positive discussion; articulate and assertive, and a great team player.
- A proven ability to bring partners and groups together, develop and maintain mutually-beneficial partnerships, deliver joint activities, and form professional networks.
- Good writing and analysis skills, with the ability to draw on quantitative and qualitative evidence, produce case studies and reports.
- Awareness of accessibility, social mobility and social inclusion issues, and an appreciation of the importance of rail, sustainable travel and mobility to communities and disabled people.
- A demonstrable ability to manage time effectively and juggle a range of activities in an organised, professional, productive manner, including planning and scheduling, coordinating with colleagues and partners, and bringing projects to fruition.
- Proactive, positive and self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and inspire and enthuse others, and overcome hurdles to achieve results.
- IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet and social media.
Other information
Location: This post is home-based, but with some travel (including occasional overnight stays) for project meetings, events and external meetings. Applicants will need local access to a train station to enable rail-based travel for work as needed.
Additional benefits: Flexible working patterns available 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays; pension with employer contribution of 3%; flexi-time working (core hours 10am-3pm); access to Employee Assistance Programme.

We are is looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Liverpool Team.
Reporting to the Family Support Manager and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.
Having worked in a stressful and emotional environment you will have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss, and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.
Location:

Specifically we are seeking candidates with:

experience of frontline care for people in crisis with acute vulnerabilities and risks (desirable but not essential)

comprehensive understanding of the processes involved in the criminal justice system (desirable but not essential)

research and advocacy skills – you get crucial things done through liaison with external agencies

significant resilience, and willingness to be professionally developed and clinically supervised

a full UK driving licence, with access to your own transport and are willing to use it for work purposes (we reimburse travelling expenses).
Candidates must be able to speak Welsh. You will be expected to support families who are first language Welsh.

Experience gained in the following kinds of roles tends to transfer well to the role of caseworker at Brake: police force, roles within the criminal justice system, family liaison officer, counsellor, experience in health and social care or previous caseworker experience in any area.
The greatest reward comes from knowing you have made a real positive difference to someone’s recovery from psychological trauma, and the emotional or practical challenges presented by their sudden bereavement or serious injury.

About the role:
You will work with our programmes in East and Southern Africa, including Angola, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, and developing projects, to support operational delivery of contractual and strategic objectives. About you:
You will have excellent project management, business planning and budget management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities at the same time. Experience of working in a senior management position in a development or humanitarian organisation is essential, and experience working in mine action sector or within the East and Southern Africa region would be advantageous. You should have a good understanding of the economic, social, and development context within the region. You will be a strong communicator over a range of mediums, with outstanding networking, influencing, and negotiation skills. We are investing in this new position in order to centralise those diverse admin responsibilities, with the Income and Finance Liaison Senior Officer taking full ownership of the associated processes and deliverables, and helping to establish "best practice" to support the Charity in our next growth phase.
The Income and Finance Liaison Senior Officer will contribute to the growth of upReach by working across the Income Generation and Finance teams contributing to a wide range of income and finance related activities. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will work closely with the Director of Finance, CEO, Finance and Programmes teams, and colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team; supporting them to meet financial targets, provide excellent stewardship and to implement key administrative and financial processes.

About the Role
upReach is recruiting for our unique Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP). This is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about social mobility, and looking to gain exposure to various aspects of charity management whilst working with university students who are exploring their career options. We welcome applications from those in the corporate world who are looking for a career change as well as recent graduates wanting to kick-start their career in the third sector.
About the FCLP
upReach’s Future Charity Leaders Programme (FCLP) is a graduate programme combining delivery work (supporting our Associates) with exposure to a range of aspects of charity management.
As a Programme Coordinator on the FCLP you will be delivering personalised employment-focused support to a cohort of approximately 80 Associates, helping transform their lives by equipping them with the necessary skills to secure a top graduate job. During a typical week, you should expect to be working across a range of projects including 1:1 undergraduate coaching, group workshops, webinars (we refer to them as Video Forums), partnership management (both with university partners or employer partners) and more!
In addition to this, the programme offers the opportunity to develop skills in key areas of charity management by participating in 3 rounds of six-month rotations. After your initial 18 months and the completion of 3 six-month rotations, you will have the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship to further develop your leadership skills.
Throughout the programme, you will receive dedicated internal training developing your leadership skills building your confidence in the role.
Through our partnership with The Circle Line, you will be part of a supportive peer group, offered regular personal development training workshops online and in-person on their '12 Tools for Life'. You will also be able to choose your own practitioner to support you with 1:1 sessions throughout the programme to help you unlock more of your unique potential.
What will I be doing?
The FCLP is a fast-paced but rewarding role. Programme Coordinators spend 80% of their time (4 days per week) working directly with associates to enhance their career knowledge and skills and 20% (1 day per week) on a charity management rotation (or an apprenticeship after 18-months). No two days are the same, but your responsibilities may include:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with Associates, helping them to achieve their career goals

Individual and small group work with Associates

Assisting Associates with their applications to undergraduate positions and graduate jobs

Developing sector and/or employability skill knowledge while building resources to aid all Associates

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with university and/or employer partners

Delivering informative workshops to enhance sector knowledge and employability skills

Planning, delivering and reporting on events and workshops with partners
When applying for this role we ask that applicants are able to commit to the full 18-month training programme and we encourage participation in the apprenticeship scheme beyond this. As you will be working directly with our beneficiaries throughout their degree, this consistency will allow you to build bonds with your Associates and ensure continuity, thus allowing us to have the most impact for the young people we work with.

This role is responsible for the development, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the directorate’s planning and risk management processes and systems. Ensuring successful oversight and monitoring of these plans and identification and management of risks and resources related to our services, corporate partnerships functions and practice and compliance functions.
The role holder will be responsible for:
- Leading on the development of business planning with responsibility for effectively managing, reporting, and monitoring on progress against directorate and functional level plans, and understanding how these plans translate into the charity’s strategic priorities and objectives.
- Responsible for early detection of challenges, resource, capacity issues arising in forward plans, offering solutions, and contributing to directorate improvement planning.
- Monitoring and reporting on risk registers and mitigations; working with the leadership teams to identify risks and future mitigating activities through planning processes.
- Supporting early planning, coordination, and communication of findings related to internal audits applicable to the directorate; supporting with the development and monitoring of relevant improvement plans.

Job Description
We have created this new role to support the organisation’s growing finance functions. Working alongside the Treasurer and Co-Directors, the individual will play a vital role in managing the organisation's financial resources. Working flexibly from home, you will perform a core role in our small, friendly virtual team helping to oversee budgets and financial support. This is a freelance position with a flexible schedule. The expected time commitment will be between up to 14 hours per week, depending on workload.
