As Service Manager, you will take the lead in the management of the charity’s care workers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing professional leadership and guidance to CSWs / CSAs through supervisions and observations, and staff meetings.
- Ensuring maximised usage of resource hours by concise completion of rostering for sector.
- Take the lead in the recruitment and interviewing of CSWs/CSAs for allocated sector.

Crucially you must have the ability to demonstrate dignity and respect for adults and children with care and support needs, and have a thorough understanding of the needs of unpaid carers.

About this key role
As a Specialist Caseworker, you will provide peer supervisory support to the team within the wider hospital-based services, which includes deputising for the Senior Caseworker when required, and support the Data Coordinator and Senior Caseworker with the collation of information and data for project monitoring purposes. You will develop and maintain an up-to-date and accurate resource of suitable onward referrals and develop and maintain strong relationships with both clinicians and hospital staff and with other services in the hospital, i.e. CAMHS, IDVA, COMPASS.
We will count on you to identify and assess young victims of violence, producing support and risk management plans based on these assessments, and to provide support, advice and advocacy for children, young people and their families as they plan to be discharged from hospital back into the community. You will also deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, which will see you provide practical help such as social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work, debt advice, and appearing in court.
What we are looking for
• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children
• Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy
• Substantial experience of assessing the needs of young people at risk of significant harm
• Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team, working together to achieve positive outcomes for young people and establishing links to further the aims of a project
• Experience of using support plans, to enable people to successfully access support services
• Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people
• Excellent IT, prioritisation, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

These roles will involve regular office-based working in Vauxhall as well as remote working and will include travel across London in line with service user, service delivery and organisational requirements.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) was established in 1987 and has spent over 30 years supporting women and girls across London affected by gendered violence. This includes childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, prostitution (including trafficking and sexual exploitation), female genital mutilation (FGM), and so-called ‘honour’ based crimes such as forced marriage.
About the role
We are now seeking two experienced and dynamic Advice Hub Caseworkers to join our highly successful Advice Hub Service and team.
As an Advice Hub Caseworker you will provide one-off, practical support and advice for women and girls who have experienced any form of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). You will provide one-off advice, information and support over the phone and via web-chat linking survivors with support that is right for them. You will also provide one-off consultation and advice to professionals working with cases involving VAWG.
The Advice team work from a woman-centred, trauma informed and survivor led integrated approach, ensuring individualised support that is rooted in empowerment and best practice. The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors. These posts play a key part in helping us identify current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.
About you
The ideal candidates will be experienced in providing support, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and be innovative. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the leading specialist VAWG organisations within the women’s sector, and to play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of a service which improves responses, access and support to survivors in London. A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Governance teams of two local Devon hospices. Hospiscare, the hospice for Exeter, Mid and East Devon, and St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, are jointly recruiting for a Data Protection Officer.
In this role you’ll play an important part in safeguarding both organisations’ information. Your primary focus will be ensuring compliance with information management legislation and policies, assessing risks and implementing effective controls. You’ll have technical understanding of data protection legislation, together with in-depth knowledge of cyber security principles and risk management.
· Hours: Full-time at 37.5 hours per week
· Location: Based in either Plymouth or Exeter, depending on the postholder’s preference, with onsite working required in both centres and the possibility of some hybrid working.
· Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 per annum (Hospiscare Band 6)
What you’ll do:
· Manage a range of Data Protection and Security processes and protocols to ensure that Hospiscare and St Lukes are both compliant with its statutory responsibilities.
· Produce St Lukes and Hospiscare’s annual Data Protection and Security (DPS) Toolkit submission
· Advise staff across the organisations and deliver training in relation to Data Protection and Security and GDPR.
