As Head of Development, you will be a key member of a small team. Reporting to the incoming Chief Executive, you will develop and implement the preexisting fundraising strategy and guide the organisation’s communications and PR strategy. You will inherit a strategically developed portfolio of relationships and income streams, with particular strengths in trusts and foundations, and a strong network of individual donors and scope to build corporates. There is also a small but growing legacy circle, created in response to a recent bequest of £1M+. You will line manage a small team of two: the Development & Communications Coordinator, and the Marketing & Communications Coordinator. With ambitions to expand upon NYJO’s existing work, your ability to set and achieve more ambitious targets will be essential.

As Head of Development, you will:
- Develop and implement the existing fundraising strategy and develop marketing and communications efforts, ensuring cohesive and impactful messaging to effectively engage donors and stakeholders
- Deliver a high standard of supporter care and relationship management tailored to the level of giving, including nurturing their successful new Legacy Club
- Manage and attend an annual series of fundraising events, from relaxed open days to formal receptions

Ideal skills and experience:
- Experience of securing 5- and 6-figure grants from a range of trust, statutory and/or individual sources

World Obesity Federation is seeking an Events Coordinator to join their team as maternity cover.
World Obesity Federation (WOF) is a worldwide federation with over 100 members and takes a holistic view of obesity from cause and prevention to treatment. WOF is a lead partner to global agencies on obesity, including WHO, and a member of the Global Obesity Coalition.
This position will begin assisting the Events Manager with the events programme and continue as maternity cover in 2025. Main responsibilities will include managing the educational events programme including in person obesity management training courses ‘Scope Schools’ as part of the SCOPE e-learning site held regularly throughout the year, and monthly educational webinars, alongside the Head of Education.
Also working with Head of Policy on medium sized events such as the Global Obesity Forum in person in New York in September 2025, and other smaller policy and fundraising meetings throughout the year. Also included in the role is managing webinars for World Obesity Day and other campaign days.
It will also involve managing the planning of the bi-annual congress the International Congress on Obesity to be held in Mexico City June 2026, overseeing the work of the PCO and organising committees to ensure development is on schedule and key milestones are achieved.

About the role
This is an amazing opportunity to share ownership of the content on all Shelter’s branded social media. Whether it’s providing social media planning, delivery or guidance, we’ll look to you to create eye-catching content that delivers Shelter’s message to a range of audiences.
Representing the team to project groups, you’ll advise on best practice, and gain insight through analytics to ensure that our content remains relevant, engaging, authentic and accessible.
Creative and responsive, we’ll rely on you to maintain Shelter’s social media presence with day-to-day and reactive content, as well as support the moderation of our social media community, and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders on the issues that matter.
About you
Confident managing social media channels, you can effectively engage with key audiences to maintain a user-centred presence and champion the brand.
You’re comfortable managing competing priorities and are proactive in your approach. An excellent communicator, you’re as comfortable communicating your findings to stakeholders as you are representing the Social Media Team across Shelter’s directorates.

As our Mass Fundraising Acquisition Marketing Manager (Events) you’ll be part of an in-house team of marketeers responsible for driving mass, new customer acquisition across a portfolio of fundraising products and activities, including events, integrated brand and fundraising campaigns, cash appeals, and regular giving activity.
You’ll collaborate with our creative, media, and third-party agency suppliers, supporting the Senior Mass Fundraising Acquisition Marketing Manager in the development, execution, and optimisation of multi-million pound, omni-channel marketing and fundraising campaigns and marcomms within the overall British Heart Foundation (BHF) integrated media plan.

Working arrangements

About you
As our ideal candidate, you will bring extensive and demonstrable marketing experience in designing, developing, and managing integrated, multi-channel marketing plans, delivering successful commercial outcomes, particularly in new customer acquisition and fundraising/income growth.
With excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, effective marketing team, you’ll have experience in paid media planning and optimisation across a full range of marketing channels, especially digital.

Additionally, you’ll have experience managing significant expenditure budgets and executing departmental plans.
