Job description

As a charity, our Garden Centres provide supported employment placements for people in our community. You will support service users with horticultural, landscaping, DIY and crafting activities. Share your experience and knowledge with service users to help them build their skills, knowledge, and confidence in a workplace setting.

If you love the outdoors, have some practical skills to put to good use, and want to help people in your community, then this is the role for you.

Key tasks
This role could include supporting service users in a range of tasks including:

  • A range of DIY tasks as needed including recycling timber, making bird boxes, insect hotels, planters, and some site maintenance and decoration.
  • Planting in our polytunnels and beds and making hanging baskets.
  • Weeding, pruning, and general garden maintenance.
  • Upcycling, recycling, and other crafting and DIY tasks.
  • Potting up and watering plants.
  • Forest school activities such as birdwatching and bug safaris.
