This is a permanent role paying a salary of £50,000 FTE per annum. This role can be either full-time or part-time (30 hours) and the postholder will be working in a hybrid model from their offices in High Wycombe.
As a pivotal, newly created role for Buckinghamshire Mind the Head of Income Generation and Communications will be a member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to the strategic direction and operational management of the charity. In addition to Buckinghamshire, this also includes their services in East Berkshire – as part of their Mind in Berkshire partnership with Oxfordshire Mind.
In this role, leading a small team, you will develop, implement, and monitor the fundraising strategy, introducing new initiatives to diversify and generate income. You will also oversee the delivery of the communications strategy. You will be innovative in your approach and have a passion to see Buckinghamshire Mind, and Mind in Berkshire, expand their portfolios of mental health services to fulfil the mission of ‘a mentally healthy society’.
They are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of leading and delivering on income generation and associated activities such as fundraising, corporate engagement, marketing, networking, and relationship management. You will have proven experience in leading on external communications (including digital), developing campaigns to generate donations/corporate giving and associated activities such as public relations.

About the role
The University of London’s Development Office is responsible for delivering philanthropic support for the strategic fundraising priorities of the University. As Senior Philanthropy Operations Manager, you will act as the strategic lead for the data and information management that underpins all of the Development Office’s activities. The Prospect Development and Donor Insights Manager is a new key position within the Development Office that will lead on strategic, data-driven insights to shape our fundraising strategy and maximise the University’s fundraising potential as we embark on the University’s biggest ever fundraising campaign.
You will manage the overall process of prospect development, including moves management and prospect strategy to support our fundraising campaign. You will provide strategic, data-driven guidance to frontline fundraisers ensuring optimal tracking and engagement of major gift prospect, including individuals, trusts & foundations and corporates, throughout the donor lifecycle. The Donor Relations Officer is a key role within the Development Office at the University of London. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a best practice programme of stewardship, donor engagement and recognition for the University of London’s donors, ensuring sustainability and growth of the donor base. The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.
The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie. This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.
The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie. With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.
The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. They will also have experience in developing both annual operational and three-year strategic plans, developing creative and innovative solutions and digital marketing and in working with working with volunteers and engaging local communities. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

Refugee Council is seeking an experienced philanthropy specialist to develop and grow the Refugee Council’s Philanthropy relationships and programme and deliver an ambitious Philanthropy strategy.
Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK. Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment. Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system. The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.
As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.
This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team and presents an exciting opportunity to grow Refugee Council’s established Philanthropy programme. The role will be responsible for delivering and creating bespoke development plans, supported by engaging cultivation and stewardship activities to secure increased funding from existing and new donors. It will also be a key point of contact for key Major Donors and high-profile supporters, patrons and ambassadors.
The position offers the opportunity to work alongside an engaged and well-connected Senior Management Team, supported by the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships and a highly regarded and experienced Philanthropy Consultant to make the charity’s ambitions a reality.
To succeed, candidates will have experience of running a Philanthropy/major giving programme, with extensive experience of managing their own pool of donors, as well as a track record of securing five and six figure donations from high net-worth individuals. You will have extensive knowledge of the Major Donor landscape and your fundraising skills will be matched by your strategic planning and leadership abilities.
Refugee Council will provide the most moving and diverse case for support. Cases that encompass innovative external affairs campaigns aimed at engaging policy makers and the public.
Refugee Council knows that step change takes time and planning, and they have put together a plan for growth that is ambitious but is also realistic and allows time for development and engagement. This plan also includes recruiting prospecting, stewardship, and communications expertise, so that growth is supported, planned and achievable.
