This position is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), temporary role, running for 3-months. Hybrid working is offered; with 3-days onsite and 2-days remote.
This role will involve working closely with the charity’s trustees to co-ordinate both the Research and Welfare grants.
Key Responsibilities for this role include:
- Managing the charity’s active Research & Welfare grants portfolio, including monitoring grant progress, outcomes and impact – ensuring timely reporting and strong relationship building with award holders.
- Working closely with a variety of stakeholders to deliver Research funding calls, assemble documentation and coordinate timelines etc.
- Coordinating the applications for Welfare Grants through the Trustee assessment and approval process.
- Monitoring the expenditure on awarded grants vs. planned budgets, ensuring that projects adhere to the charity’s financial policies.
- Capturing and monitoring the outputs, outcomes and impact resulting from the grants portfolios – liaising with the Marketing & Communications team regarding any potential case studies and press releases to demonstrate impact from the charity’s investment.
- Leading reviews of the charity’s research strategy, and supporting the continual development of the processes, systems and software used to manage grant activities.
- Detailed record keeping, including drafting operational guidelines and operational procedures.
- Attending and supporting the delivery of scientific meetings.
- Managing and growing the charity’s relationships with partners, including Research grant co-funders, and identifying new collaboration opportunities.
- Acting as lead contact for external organisations.
- Line managing the Research Grants & Trust Officers, providing support and identifying opportunities for their professional development.
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- Experience working within a similar role within the not-for-profit sector.
- Previous project management experience.
- Experience working with a large number of stakeholders, managing conflicting needs.
- The ability to effectively communicate complex research messages to a varied audience.
- Experience understanding and communicating research and scientific concepts clearly and effectively.
- The ability to independently manage a varied and complex workload.

About the role
An exciting role to deliver a tailored package of support that will help Reigate and Banstead Council to increase levels of active travel in the area. You will engage with schools, workplaces, and communities to support and enable more people to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot for local everyday journeys, instead of taking the car.
As the Project Officer, you will plan and deliver fun, innovative and engaging activities such as mapping safe routes, leading rides and walks, practical skills sessions, competitions, initiatives and information events. The range of activities, events and resources will be adapted to meet the needs of the different audiences and will be designed to be inclusive so as many people as possible can benefit from the project and more local journeys can be travelled actively.
This role will require you to work with a range of people across local and diverse communities, workplaces and schools in Reigate and Banstead. Within the role, there will be an expectation to capture the impact of the project through completing reporting and monitoring, writing case studies, capturing quotes and photos and contributing to an end of project report.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

Imperial is looking for a Regular Giving Officer (Mid-value and Telephone Campaigns) to join their successful Regular Giving and Legacy Giving team. What you would be doing
The Regular Giving and Legacy Giving team at Imperial is a high-performing team, with a well-established, successful programme that is looking to implement new strategies to keep growing. The post-holder will be responsible for implementing the strategy for these areas as well as the day-to-day work.

Ochil Tower School is now looking for a Head of Care who will form a key part of the Leadership Team, working under a highly experienced and dynamic Executive Director. The Head of Care would be effective in collaborating with the education team, parents and carers and a range of other partners to meet the needs of our children and young people.
The Head of Care will liaise with members of the school community primarily but will link in with other residential schools and with other external agencies to ensure that the service remains responsive to need, is professional in approach and in line with National Care Standards, as well as Government initiatives regarding residential and day care for children and young people. The successful candidate will undertake the day-to-day strategic leadership and management of the residential team and ensure effective systems are in place for policies, procedures and monitoring. Our Philanthropy Coordinator will proactively track and manage a pipeline of next and existing High Net Worth Individuals and support HorseWorld's Major Donor Working Group comprising the Chair of Trustees, CEO and Heads of Departments. You will be expected to provide insight and identify opportunities for connection plus manage and track the stewardship tools to guide donors through their giving journey, including cultivation plans, sourcing and presenting tailored information for donors. Facilitating and attending meetings and events, both in person and online, you will be ensuring steps are being taken to nurture donor relationships.
Collaboration is key as you will work with colleagues and volunteers across the organisation to support HorseWorld's fundraising efforts.

About the Role
Your objective for the first 12 months in post will be to have:
- Supported the Youth Zone to achieve 1,000 visits by young people a week by ensuring volunteers play a key role in service delivery.
- Collaborated with the delivery and operational team to ensure volunteer opportunities are identified.
- Put in place a robust volunteer recruitment pathway.
- Created a ‘culture of volunteering’ and ensured the critical role of volunteer is understood and valued across the whole organisation.
- Supported each member of the operation and delivery team to line manager between 2-4 volunteers each, providing between 6 and 30 hours of volunteering a week.
- Put in place a reward and recognition scheme that celebrates volunteers’ successes.
The charity is in the process of securing temporary office space in the Preston area, ahead of construction on the new Youth Zone being completed (expected summer 2025). In the first two months of this role, you will also spend time on placement at another North-West based Youth Zone.
About You
With the ability to motivate, inspire and communicate the value of volunteers to all levels of an organisation, you will have experience of:
- Volunteer management best practice, including developing and supporting a wide range of volunteering opportunities
- Developing and delivering a variety of training to small and large groups
- Managing successful relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners and confident in providing advice and guidance to others around policy, procedure and good practice

Salary: £27,344 FTE (NJC Scale 6, point 18)

Hours: Part time 20 hours (over 3 days per week) to include evening
