Mass Participation Lead
We are seeking an experienced leader to drive forward the development and implementation of the events and mass participation fundraising strategy.
This is an exciting new role that has been developed to lead our ambitious vision for this area of our team and offers home and flexible working.
Position: CE332 Mass Participation Lead
Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: Circa £47,000 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance with where you live)
Contract: Permanent

The Role
Worth currently £2m annually we are looking to rapidly grow our income from third party and owned products and events. You will provide strategic leadership to the Mass Participation team (2 direct reports and accountability for a further 6) as well as playing an active leadership role across the Mass Engagement department, contributing to the wider directorate goals and objectives.
You will oversee a customer-centric approach where supporters receive an outstanding experience and feel proud of their continued contribution.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Developing strategy for events and mass participation products
· New fundraising product development
· Strategic leadership of a geographically dispersed team, embedding a culture of high performance
· Setting meaningful income and expenditure budgets and being able to accurately re-forecast putting action plans in place to mitigate shortfalls.
About You
You will be an innovative thinker with the ability to review our existing programme, the wider market environment and identify opportunities for supporter acquisition, engagement, and retention.
You will have experience of:
· Delivering targets with successful outcomes.
· Project planning and problem solving.
· Delivering formal presentations and public speaking.
· Budget development, planning and forecasting and an understanding of risk, mitigation and contingency planning.
· Achieving annual income and expenditure targets.
· Recruiting, managing, motivating, developing and training staff and/or volunteers.
· Analysing and interpreting data.

About The Role
Speech and Language UK is recruiting Independent Visitors to provide essential support and guidance to our residential special school in all areas the national minimum standards.
Key Responsibilities:
To fulfil the requirements of Standard 3 of the national minimum standards for residential special schools, which includes:
- Conduct six unannounced visits to ensure the highest standards of care, aligned with national regulations.
- Write and submit reports on the conduct of the school with any recommendations within two weeks of the visit.
- Collaborate with staff members, and other key stakeholders to monitor compliance and safeguard the welfare of residents.
- Meet with children, parents, other stakeholders, senior management and other staff in the school
- Check school records, including, but not restricted to, attendance, restraint, risk assessment and care plans
- Evaluate the quality of the provision and effectiveness of the care provided to children and whether they are safeguarded
- Assess the suitability of the physical condition of the residential provision and its external environment
What We Are Looking For:
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of regulated services and their inspection frameworks
- Experience of working within an educational setting, social or health care organisation, safeguarding, residential care, youth work, or related fields
- Knowledge of current care legislation and statutory guidance relating to children and young people
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.

We are looking for an experienced AAT Finance Assistant to help us in our mission to alleviate the detrimental impact of poverty, with a focus on fuel poverty.
This role will be within the small, dedicated Finance team, supporting the Head of Finance with the day-to-day running of financial operations and general finance enquiries.
This role is for 30 hours per week which can be worked across four or five days (Monday to Friday)
Roles & Responsibilities
· Manage the purchase ledger function efficiently and accurately
· Processing of invoices and expenses into the accounting system Xero
· Matching of purchase orders with invoices and requesting of approvals
· Managing payment processes for all suppliers and expenses with supporting documentation
· Maintaining the purchase order log, raising of purchase orders from approval requests
· Communicating with suppliers regarding of invoice queries
· Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
· Liaising with the Trustees regarding the payments, and agreeing a quarterly payment rota
· Monitoring the monthly progress for all Grants, including reconciliations and preparation of the monthly payments
· Assisting the Head of Finance with the preparation of the monthly management accounts, to include balance sheet reconciliations and journals and other related ad hoc tasks
We are a virtual organisation, and all work from our respective homes, however we meet up weekly on Teams, and meet up at least twice a year (in person) for our team events.
What skills we are looking for in a candidate:
· AAT qualified
· Proven experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk or similar role
· High attention to detail and ability to work within strict deadlines
· High degree of accuracy and strong numeracy skills
· Excellent time management skills and self-motivated
· Demonstrate ability to manage several tasks at once
· Proactive communication and team-working skills
· Experience of using finance systems on a day to day basis (Xero or similar)
· Experience with all Microsoft applications and databases
