Overview:
Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Ensure smooth delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of group activities. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
- Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
- Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
- Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
- Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.
- Community Development: Experience of developing and delivering community services with a range of stakeholders, including health and social care workers, commissioners, local authority and community and voluntary partners.
- Data-Driven Approach: Experience with data collection and CRM systems and a commitment to data-driven service evaluation.
- Community Sensitivity: Experience collaborating with people with a lived experience of cancer or other long-term conditions. Ability to understand and empathise with community needs.
- Administrative: Strong administration and IT skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: A good understanding of safeguarding practices, particularly concerning vulnerable populations.
Educational Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification or experience in Community Development, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.

This is a new part-time role combining operational management of our small office based in Central London, with supporting and developing the governance activities of an ambitious and growing charity.
Hands-on experience managing the operations of small to medium sized organisations is essential, particularly facilities and office management, health and safety, and IT (working with an outsourced IT Support provider).
You will support the CEO and Director of Finance & Resources with governance activities including preparing for and running board and sub-committee meetings. You will need to be a confident minute-taker with a good eye for detail, and have experience in collating high-quality board paper packs.
You will have an appetite to innovate and drive continuous improvement across your areas of responsibility, and as the only role on the team covering these functions, must love being hands-on and getting stuck in. In return, you will gain experience working closely with trustees and the leadership team, and gain understanding and insight into all aspects of running an ambitious and growing charity.

In this new, impactful role, you will be responsible for mobilising and subsequently continuously improving a new network engagement and support function. The aim of the function is to significantly enhance the understanding the of needs, views and priorities of local Age UKs and the way in which the national organisation connects with, engages, and supports them.
Working collaboratively with local Age UKs and national teams, the Director of Network Engagement & Support will be responsible for developing and implementing a network engagement and support strategy. This includes driving forward changes that may include the type of support provided, the way in which it is delivered and how it is monitored and measured to ensure our approach is responsive, sustainable and supports the strategic objectives and operational needs of the network.
This will require collaborative working across a range of teams to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach. This role and team will engage directly with local Age UK leadership, be the owner of the organisational overview of the network and network interactions, ensuring risks and issues are appropriately managed and that there is an effective and transparent flow of information across the organisation and network including into formal governance mechanisms.
The Director of Network Engagement & Support will ensure the effective delivery and operation of several formal and informal network engagement activities, for example Chief Officer induction. Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. Scope of the Job
The Finance Officer at Alfanar will play a crucial role in delivering an effective and efficient finance function across the organization's group structure. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Officer will be supporting various financial tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash and reserves management, accounting processes, and financial risk mitigation. Main Responsibilities

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Proven experience as a senior leader in ideally a non-profit or public sector organisation
- Strong and extensive operations management experience, financial leadership and programme delivery
- Experience of working on projects to integrate systems and improve processes / ways of working would be highly desirable
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organisational development and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of representing the charity effectively to external audience
- Experience of working with a Charity Board of Trustees
- Proven ability to develop a long term financial strategy and plans
- Experience of developing and implementing processes and policies as well as setting standards and targets aligned to organisation objectives
- A commitment to the charity's mission and values
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to distil and communicate complex financial information in a way that is easy to understand
- Ability to think strategically, anticipating future trends and developing plans accordingly
- Encourage innovation and seek to understand best practice from both inside and outside the sector
- Strong financial acumen and demonstrable ability to monitor, interpret and communicate financial information effectively is essential
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA or an equivalent finance qualification is desirable
