Job Summary
The Safeguarding Administrator provides comprehensive administrative support for meetings and safeguarding activities to aid the smooth running of the safeguarding team. This role ensure that the safeguarding team provides a professional and friendly service to parishes within the Diocese of London, and to the London Diocesan Fund.
Job responsibilities
Administrative support for meetings
- Provide administrative support for the Safeguarding Leadership Team.
- Produce high quality accurate minutes of team meetings and ensure they run smoothly.
Administrative support for safeguarding activity
- Work with the Safer Churches Programme Manager to provide day to day administrative support, working closely to ensure functions run smoothly.
- Work within national and diocesan safer churches policy and procedures as defined in the safer churches programme of work.
- Support the Safeguarding Advisors with safeguarding agreements and risk assessments as required.
- Provide effective administrative support, maintaining standards as required by the Diocese.

Training administration

Purpose of the job/About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team at Dementia UK, playing a key role in the administration, maintenance, reporting, and compliance of funds and fund accounting.
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for carrying out monthly balance sheet reconciliations, leading on all trading subsidiary matters, and ensuring charity tax compliance, including VAT and Corporation Tax, across the organisation. You will also support the year-end process, including the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts as well as assisting with the external audit.
In addition, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial governance by improving internal controls, configuring financial systems, and ensuring compliance with legal, VAT, and tax regulations. You will also produce accurate financial information to support decision-making, processing pump prime payments, setting up new suppliers, and managing purchase orders. Collaboration with the Finance Manager and Finance Business Partners will be key to ensuring accurate fund allocations for salaries and maintaining up-to-date reports for effective monitoring.
To succeed in this role, you will be either part-qualified in a UK professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or part qualified by experience, with 2-3 years of proven financial accounting experience. You will have a strong understanding of charity accounting, particularly the Charity Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP), and demonstrate expertise in managing donor/restricted funds, including reporting for major donors, trusts, and foundations. Switchboard’s listening service is available to all LGBTQIA+ communities in the UK. It offers a safe space for anyone to discuss anything, including topics such as sexuality, gender identity, sexual health, and emotional well-being and more. Handling over 17,000 conversations each year, their services continue to be in high demand, with their network of volunteers offering a vital service to people across the country in times of need, but also proving incredible insights into the issues that impact the LGBTQIA+ community the most.
Since 2021 the organisation has been on a journey to establish a staff team to oversee day-to-day operations within the charity. They are now looking to introduce this new role as they grow throughout 2024 to a team of 11.

This position is offered on a full-time, hybrid basis with 2 days working in the London office a week and the remaining flexibly from home.
The role:
This brand-new role sits within the staff team at Switchboard and reports directly to the Head of Volunteering and Training. The post will work closely with key volunteer-led operational teams. As the charity looks to cover its rota more effectively, they are working towards recruiting and training around 100 new volunteers in 2024, taking the total membership to around 350. This number will continue to grow each year, until they are able to handle ALL of the calls, IMs and emails the service receives.
With this in mind, Switchboard wants to ensure they not only retain new volunteers for a number of years, but that each volunteer books regular shifts, are looked after and feel welcomed and an important part of an active, vibrant and inclusive community.
This role reports into the Head of Volunteering and Training and oversees four main areas: volunteer socials, wellbeing initiatives, celebrations and EDI endeavours. This role is key to ensuring the charity retains, nurtures and engages volunteers within Switchboard, and that they create a community of volunteers which reflects the rich diversity of the wider LGBTQIA+ community.
This vital role will entail, delivering a range of in-person and online engagement events throughout the year, managing the Pride activations for 2025 and onwards, overseeing Switchboard’s programme of volunteer celebrations, managing wellbeing initiatives and ensuring Switchboard continues to celebrate being a rich, diverse and inclusive organisation.
The person:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of organising and producing social and professional events of all shapes and sizes. They will have strong exposure to EDI initiatives and will have a natural interest, or actual experience in promoting wellbeing in the work-place.
This person will have outstanding people skills as the soft skill aspects of this role will be absolutely critical to its success. It will be important that this person demonstrates a broad understanding of the issues and challenges people from the LGBTQIA+ community face in their everyday lives. You will have extensive experience of organising social gatherings in a professional or volunteering setting, both large and small, collating and analysing data to measure effectiveness & impact, managing third party supplier & contractor relationships, in addition to having a collaborative, communicative & empathetic approach to mobilising networks and driving forward levels of customer service and Volunteer experience.
This person will be comfortable with public speaking and engaging audiences, will be highly organised and above all, fully committed to the work of Switchboard, becoming a natural advocate for the organisation both internally and externally as a result. This person will need to be able to manage all in-person events, wherever they are based, so some locational flexibility will be required.

The Student Voice Facilitator will work within the Student Voice team to develop and deliver innovative representation practices, ensuring our members can exercise their student voice and influence university decision-making. About the role
We’re looking for a Human Resources Advisor with strong experience in employee relations and policy development to join our People Team. About the role
As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be part of Crisis Skylight Brent’s Engagement and Assessment Team, providing a high quality, non-judgemental and safe service to individuals who approach our Skylight Centre. Engagement and Assessment Workers are the first point of contact for a range of enquiries from people who are experiencing homelessness for the first time, individuals with complex and multiple needs, visitors, volunteers, and supporters. You will be providing information about Crisis’ services, delivering a high-quality triage and assessment service, and offering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on local homelessness and other related services. You will also manage a small caseload.
Crisis uses a case management approach, and the successful candidate will attend case management meetings, reflective practice, and team meetings. You will also work collaboratively with external partners and Crisis Skylight Brent’s Coaching and Learning Teams.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.
Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.
As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.
