As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of People and Culture will work in a spirit of mutual accountability with fellow directors, taking strategic leadership of Turn2us’s People and Culture Directorate. As the Peer to Peer Groupwork Facilitator you will set up, lead and deliver a year-long peer to peer group programme for bereaved families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.
The groupwork is based on a programme led by Harvard University and Boston’s Children’s hospital and has structured sessions drawing upon psychological model of CBT, although the sessions are not therapeutic. Each session has a theme and incorporates education, guidance and support.
You will establish and deliver a new peer online support group, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery and creating a safe and welcoming space for bereaved families.
Outside the group sessions you will be responsible for managing the administration and evaluation of the service, including and collection of questionnaires and feedback required for reporting purposes and supporting members with any signposting requirements processing referrals, carrying out eligibility screening, monitoring the waiting list and inputting and keeping all database member and service records up to date.

Strides is looking for a reliable and experienced Residential Assistant to join our team.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the supervision of residents in accordance with policy and practice under the direction and guidance of managers and relevant staff where necessary. Deal with routine issues raised by residents on a day-to-day basis.
- Staff and supervise the Approved Premises during designated shifts, referring serious incidents to designated on-call Manager and adhere to the procedure of completing incident reports as necessary.
- Ensure enforcement of Approved Premises rules and deal with any breaches in accordance with procedures. Respond appropriately to abusive or aggressive behaviour.
- Demonstrate pro-social modelling skills by consistently reinforcing pro-social behaviour and attitudes and challenging anti-social behaviour and attitudes
- Liaise with Key Workers, Deputy Manager and Manager as appropriate to share issues concerning residents.
- Process information and maintain records including inputting information on the database system by recording any significant occurrences relating to residents during shift.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of this job is to provide energy efficiency advice and casework-level support to individuals and families living in low-income households and facing fuel poverty. The primary goals of the project are:
1. Raise Awareness & Energy Savings - Educate vulnerable local communities, who may lack prior knowledge, about strategies for reducing energy costs and achieving long-term energy and financial savings. The aim is to empower individuals with practical energy-saving techniques and encourage grassroots peer learning within these communities to help spread survival strategies.
2. Energy Advice & Fuel Debt Support - Offer detailed guidance on energy management, including addressing fuel debt issues, to help clients understand their fuel usage in the context of their overall financial situation. This includes enabling individuals to make informed decisions about energy consumption and related financial matters.
3. Assist Vulnerable Communities in Energy Crisis - Equip particularly vulnerable households with the skills necessary to cope with the growing crisis in household energy debt, as consumption rises sharply. This involves preparing communities to manage their energy usage and finances more effectively in the face of increasing energy costs.
4. Income Maximisation & Benefits Awareness - Help raise awareness about entitlements and assist clients in claiming relevant benefits to maximise family income, ultimately helping them manage energy expenses more sustainably.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Holistic Client Assessment and Support - conduct detailed confidential interviews with clients, applying a holistic approach to assess their needs for advice and support.
- Compliance and Quality Standards - Provide energy efficiency advice and casework support that adheres to the Advice Quality Standard (AQS).
- Comply with AQS case management and case recording procedures and processes, contributing to the delivery of high-quality advice and casework, and the collection and reporting of statistical data as required to enable accurate evaluation of the impact of the service and reporting to funders.
- To be responsible for delivering high-quality one-to-one advice and casework on energy efficiency - targeting our food hub participants and other local residents who are on low income.
- To raise awareness and assist people without any previous awareness/knowledge of how to save on energy costs and develop long-term energy and monetary savings within their homes.
- To facilitate and deliver monthly Switching Off Poverty workshops/talks/group sessions about fuel poverty; how to identify at-risk local residents; what tools/assistance is available; and how to impart help and guidance following the end of the programme - these workshops aim to enable participants to access tools and develop the new skills required to help them monitor, track, record, and understand their household fuel use and bills.
- Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels; Face-To-Face, Telephone, Teams/Zoom, WhatsApp as well as via email/letter.
- To ensure that the service offered is tailored to the needs of clients and takes into account the particular needs of each individual, including issues around communication, understanding, and vulnerability.
- Through clear communication and consultation, ensure that clients remain involved in resolving their energy debt, benefit, and money management issues and are kept informed on the progress of their case throughout our work with them.

- To effectively use the database system (Lamplight) to organise and manage client support and to take on issues (as cases) for the client that may have issues with billing and metering problems. Our Health team has an exciting opportunity for three new roles to join the team. Two of these roles will be focused in our North London TST team, and one in our Lewisham hostel team with a focus on improving the barriers faced by those experiencing homelessness when accessing health care.
As a Health Lead, your role will focus on developing and embedding SHPs health approach into the services the charity provides. It will involve working with and supporting those living within our hostels who have underlying health needs to access and maintain the health care they need. To complete initial health screening tools, create a health support profile plan for each client and to make referrals to and support them in engaging with the correct services (i.e. dentistry, podiatry). In this role you will complete health mapping and use this information to influence partnerships formed with external services to help overcome barriers faced by those experiencing homelessness.
The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality Disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role, include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients, supporting them to engage in health care support and see an improvement in their overall physical health.

To be successful, you will have:
- A knowledge of (or willingness to learn) about common health issues and the barriers to health access that people experiencing homelessness may encounter.
- Ability to find ways to engage and develop relationships with clients who may have a low level of interaction with and/or suspicion of services.

Purpose of the Job:
This role is within our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm(midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The shift pattern for this role is 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.
Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.
The objectives of the service include:
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
- To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
- To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
- To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
- To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
- To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.
- Promoting people’ rights and responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and developing flexible and realistic crisis support packages/person centred plans
- Listening to clients and encouraging positive steps towards self-management of crisis and recovery
- Providing advice, information, practical and emotional support to clients
- Proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies e.g. CATT, Emergency Duty Teams, CMHTS, etc
- Engaging with clients to show empathy, inspire hope and promote recovery

You will have:
- Minimum of 1 year working in mental health services and with clients experiencing mental health distress and crisis
- Experience of managing challenging behaviour and dealing with clients with complex needs
- Experience of managing safeguarding risks and understanding legal requirements for safeguarding adults and children
- Evidence of continual professional development
- Understanding of the Recovery Model in mental health
- Understanding of the principles of trauma informed care
- Understanding of suicide prevention and safety planning
- Understanding of the relationship between mental health and social issues and how these issues may impact on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing

Job summary
The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) is a Society of over 1,700 members from 100 countries, who work in, or are interested in tropical medicine and global health.
RSTMH organises and participates in events as a crucial way of showcasing, discussing, and debating key areas of tropical medicine and global health research and practice. Our range of events are wide. We deliver conferences and webinars, social events, research meetings for early career professionals, and high-profile debates and discussions. They happen across the UK and around the world, both online and in person. Our events add to the impact of our work in tropical medicine and global health, but also raise funds to allow us to continue our work as a charity.
The Meetings and Events Manager would lead on the delivery of the RSTMH meeting and events strategy. The role requires a self-starter who is excited by the prospect of working on such a broad range of meetings and events. The candidate needs to have excellent communication and relationship building skills, and to be organised, flexible with a great attention to detail. They should be comfortable liaising with venues for meetings space, developing budgets for events, managing logistical aspects of the events programme and setting up new events online and in person.
Main responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the meetings and events programme meeting its financial and other goals and KPIs under the existing strategy
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of the events with a focus on expanding global reach, supporting careers, and improving the financial position
- Manage events from conception to completion - delivering events to the highest standard to meet their objectives of success – quality and cost effectiveness

Advance has partnered with Catch 22 to deliver services to young victims of crime in London. In recognition of the distinct challenges facing young women and girls (YWG), Advance will deliver a dedicated service to young women and girls (aged 13 to 18) who have been a victim or witness of crime. You will have experience of managing frontline staff, supporting them to follow service delivery processes and procedures to ensure effective and safe service delivery to achieve positive outcomes for young women and girls accessing the Victims and Witnesses service. You will have excellent time management skills to ensure service outcomes are monitored and reported on in a timely and effective manner. You will also have excellent communication skills that will allow you to build good working relationships with your team, the wider organisation and external delivery partners. You will be able to reflect and adapt to manage change and enhance working practices, as well as supporting your team through change. You will have an enthusiastic attitude and instil this within your day to day work and interactions with your colleagues and external stakeholders.
