About the role:
Support to Head of Advice and Support
- Line management of three case workers
- Deliver the service in accordance with Providence Row, policies & procedures and values
- Work to service improvement objectives and team plans
- Contribute to the day to day management of the premises to ensure that facilities run smoothly for staff and service users
- Support management and other workers to manage any Incidents on site
- Contribute to partnership development
- Work alongside colleagues to ensure cross departmental support and appropriate support of shared clients
Client support
- Contribute to the smooth running of the Centre to ensure Providence Row is an enabling environment
- Assist managers and the frontline team to review client related incidents and follow up on complaints
- To ensure all clients are given appropriate trauma informed advice & support to improve their situation
- Ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults processes are followed, where necessary and work with the organisational safeguarding lead
Team support
- Supervise three case workers
- Complete regular supervision, case work management and annual appraisals
- Contribute to the Providence Row assessment procedure
- Support colleagues with technical queries relating to case progression
- Attend training relating to housing advice and present the learning back to staff teams
- Ensuring the team are rehearsed in all policies and procedures
- Support the team to identify training for continued learning and development
Monitor and evaluate work, demonstrating impact
- Ensuring monitoring systems are up to date and that development is ongoing
- Assisting with the review of assessment and recording systems
- Working with other department leads on service user feedback collation
- Keeping accurate financial records of the teams expenditure
- Oversee Advice & Support Team contract monitoring reports for commissioners to ensure delivery against the service objectives and KPI’s.
- Attend contract monitoring meetings alongside the Head of Advice & Support
Partnership Work
- Work with the Head of Advice & Support to identify new partnerships while also developing existing arrangements

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

We offer people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless housing and benefits advice, 1-2-1 coaching, advocacy, courses and peer group sessions alongside practical services of showers and laundry for street homeless.
About the role
As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be part of Crisis Skylight Brent’s Engagement and Assessment Team, providing a high quality, non-judgemental and safe service to individuals who approach our Skylight Centre. Engagement and Assessment Workers are the first point of contact for a range of enquiries from people who are experiencing homelessness for the first time, individuals with complex and multiple needs, visitors, volunteers, and supporters. You will be providing information about Crisis’ services, delivering a high-quality triage and assessment service, and offering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on local homelessness and other related services. You will also manage a small caseload.
Crisis uses a case management approach, and the successful candidate will attend case management meetings, reflective practice, and team meetings. You will also work collaboratively with external partners and Crisis Skylight Brent’s Coaching and Learning Teams.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

Experience of working with homeless or other vulnerable groups and understanding of the importance of respecting confidentiality, showing empathy and sensitivity, and working in a boundary way

Experience of assessing presenting needs and working in a Psychologically Informed Environment, and in a way that ensures that members with all levels of need can access the service.

Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering the highest standard of customer care and high quality IAG.

Good knowledge of homelessness, housing and welfare legislation and Safeguarding procedures

This post is fixed term maternity cover. We are looking to recruit a Project Worker in our Transition to Independent Living and Training Flat team at the Barnardo's Swansea Service, Barnardo's Cymru Western Bay Locality.
What is Barnardo's Swansea?
At the core of all Barnardo's Swansea Services we recognise the importance in building children and young people's self-confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Our services include:
- Bloom - Life coaching and befriending
- Supported Lodgings – providing supported accommodation with a host family
- Transition and Training Flats Service – independent living experiences and life skills support
- Barnardo's Wellbeing Service – emotional wellbeing support for children and young people aged 9 to 17 years
As part of the Transition Training Flat Service you will undertake direct, planned and structured one to one and group sessions with young people. Working toward distinct outcomes you will support young people to reach their person-centred goals in a trauma-informed way.
Key elements of the service include:
- Group work promoting independent living skills to young people in preparation for their ‘move on' housing options. This will include delivering accredited Independent Living Skills programmes, facilitating visits to accommodation providers, as well as providing opportunities to develop practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning and bill paying in a home environment
- Support for those at risk of homelessness or those at risk of placement breakdown, for young people aged 16+. This is targeted one-to-one support for those young people who may be experiencing instability in their accommodation or placement.
- This service will provide young people aged 16+ with an independent living experience in order for them to better understand their accommodation needs and options. Intensive individual support will be provided to those young people accessing the training flats (includes evening and weekend working).
What does the Job Role involve?
Your duties will include:
- This service provides support to young people from 9am until 8pm Monday to Friday and from 10am until 6pm on weekends.
- The service requires flexibility of work as we support young people around their needs. This means rota working including the evenings and weekends.
- Working with young people and professionals to develop agreed support plans.
- Delivering accredited group work programmes in the areas of Independent living and tenancy readiness.
- Visiting and supporting service users in their placements providing support to young people and their carers.
- Visitingyoung people accessing the training flats on a regular, planned basis. Undertaking entry/exit tasks, safety and welfare checks as well as responding to emergencies and crises that may arise within service hours.
- Supporting young people to ensure they are aware of their accommodation options and entitlements in readiness for move on. This will include assisting young people to complete benefit applications, offering support through appeals as well as supporting service administrators with the monitoring of data.
- Supporting young people to integrate into their communities and to encourage participation in community events and activities.
- Tracking a young person's support journey through the use of outcomes scoring. To discuss, score and record outcomes, implementing a young person-centred approach.
You will have (essential criteria):
- Knowledge of the issues affecting young people particularly those who have been ‘looked after', are care leavers, or are homeless/threatened with homelessness.
- Experience of direct work with young people in a relevant setting.
- Experience of creating tailored support plans with young people and demonstrating the positive outcomes achieved.
- Experience of delivering group based sessions such as issue-based workshops and independent living skills programmes.
- Experience of managing a workload and prioritising competing demands
- The ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post.
Additional Information:

Although this contract has a fixed term status currently until 31st March 2025 funding is awarded annually and we are waiting to find out if funding will continue past this date. Should continuation funding be received, the post will be extended to 11th July 2025.

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Our Brighton & Hove Services provide supported accommodation for 50 young people at risk of homelessness across two sites. Gareth Stacey House is one of our 24-hour supported housing projects offering high and medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged of 16-25 with 15 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Our staff team comprises of Support Workers, Night Staff and Managers. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.
As a Supported Housing Support Worker you will hold a caseload of residents, working with them on a one-to-one basis with also facilitating group work sessions. You will identify their needs by listening to them, with employing psychologically informed approaches to enable residents to make better choices and take responsibility for their actions. You will work closely with other services such as, Social Services, Police, Probation, education providers and local organisations. About the role
The SPOT team are looking for multiple committed individuals who want to work within a street outreach team tasked with reducing rough sleeping in Southwark. This role is challenging and rewarding, for both an experienced worker who wants the autonomy and flexibility to find creative solutions or as a development role for a worker that wants to learn outreach skills and is keen to work with clients at a point where their need is acute. You will be expected to work with clients in a variety of settings and being a rough sleeper team will require an ability to do some shifts starting at 6am and others finishing at 2am.
In this role you will:
- Conduct outreach alongside a range of partners and proactively assess those found to rapidly access housing, health services and treatment
- Manage a caseload of clients suffering multiple disadvantage where there are significant barriers to rapidly accessing accommodation and services requiring relationship building and a thoughtful approach to making incremental change.

For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
About you
The successful candidate will be a strong good communicator who can engage with clients in a range of settings. They will also be adaptable to challenges relating to communication, be it language barriers, cultural differences or working with those who are neuro-diverse. Thisincludes the ability to convey concepts to people in a simple way that can be easily understood.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to live independently. Support workers must monitor and assess the needs of the customers and provide creative and tailored person centred support to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.

Support workers at Newham Mental Health Service will work within a multi disciplinary team, providing support to customers with a range of mental health and support needs. This will include support with emotional, social, physical & domestic needs. What you'll do:
If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate
Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where customers have not yet developed the skills, to ensure they enjoy a high quality of accommodation
Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker
Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises
Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift
Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
Carry out support duties to enable customers to integrate into the community including e.g. accompanying the customer to attend benefit agency appointments and meetings, go shopping, to enquire at colleges about possible courses, to visit various public amenities
Report any observations relating to customers welfare
Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements
Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times
Maintain digital and physical records as required at the project under the direction of the Support Workers/ management
Participate in team meetings/reviews and the general development of the service

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Our Brighton & Hove Services provide supported accommodation for 50 young people at risk of homelessness across two sites. Gareth Stacey House is one of our 24-hour supported housing projects offering high and medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged of 16-25 with 15 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Our staff team comprises of Support Workers, Night Staff and Managers. Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.
As a Supported Housing Support Worker you will hold a caseload of residents, working with them on a one-to-one basis with also facilitating group work sessions. You will identify their needs by listening to them, with employing psychologically informed approaches to enable residents to make better choices and take responsibility for their actions. You will work closely with other services such as, Social Services, Police, Probation, education providers and local organisations. Our projects already have excellent working relationships with these services, and your role will build on these. You will be helping them to improve their practical living skills such as cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking, and securing employment and making wise decisions. You will help to contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations.

Liverpool SHS is a mental health, 12 hour supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, tenancy support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us.
