Title: Crisis at Christmas Locum Move on Support Workers (Hotels)
Contract: Casual worker from mid- December 2024 to mid- January 2025 – a minimum of three shifts between Monday 23 Dec 2024 and Monday 6 January 2025
Pay: £20 per hour over four, 8-hour shifts (£30 per hour on Bank Holidays – 25, 26 December and 1 January)

A fantastic locum opportunity for support workers who have front line experience supporting rough sleepers. You will be working with guests in Crisis at Christmas hotel accommodation to establish move-ons and next steps after the project closes.
Whilst it is not possible to find an immediate housing solution for everyone in the hotels, we aim to give advice and next steps to every guest who stays with us. The Crisis at Christmas project benefits from huge support from the GLA and local authorities, drug & alcohol services and SIAS immigration lawyers from each of the 5 subregions. There is a huge opportunity at Christmas to engage clients who do not usually connect with services, and this is reflected in the offers of support they receive.
You will be employed directly by Crisis during this period, for this reason any applications must be with permission from your current employer which must be sought and cannot be assumed.
Experience required
· Demonstrable experience of working directly with rough sleepers (e.g., in outreach, day centres, turnaround hubs or similar services)
· Good knowledge of voluntary sector services and statutory rights of homeless people
· Ability to deal flexibly with a broad range of clients, and with challenging behaviour.
· Striving for equality of opportunity in the context of rough-sleeping and homelessness
· Current registered CHAIN user
Shifts
Shifts will be 10am – 6pm and Move On support Locum workers must commit to a minimum of 4 shifts to be accepted into the role.
You will also accrue annual leave during this work, which will be calculated according to statutory guidelines and will be paid in your final payslip. Holiday entitlement will be calculated as 12.07% of actual hours worked and equates to approximately £3.80 per hour for bank holidays worked and £2.40 per hour for non-bank holiday work.

We are seeking a resourceful and motivated refuge support worker to help deliver our life-saving refuge service to survivors of domestic abuse.

The Role: As the Refuge Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored emotional and practical support to women and children living in our refuge. You'll work closely with a small caseload of women, helping them rebuild their lives, navigate their support plans, and move towards independent living. Your work will range from providing safety advice and emotional support to practical assistance like securing move-on housing, advocating with other agencies, and coordinating resettlement support. You’ll also ensure the smooth operation of the refuge, maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. You will be directly responsible to the Refuge Manager and will work as part of a small team which includes the Children’s Worker, Family Worker and Housekeeper.

About the role
As a Lead Worker (Intensive Case Management), you will deliver intensive, person-centred, and holistic support to people who are disadvantaged and need significant support to end their homelessness. You will be collaborating with internal and external colleagues to meet people’s immediate, acute needs and to support them to start taking steps towards ending their homelessness.
We take a bold approach to supporting people and adapt our ways of working when needed to ensure that we are providing impactful, equitable service giving everyone a fair opportunity to receive the support they need. We help people to challenge barriers put up by the system. This is an incredibly varied role as you will offer practical support such as help to attend external appointments, open bank accounts, and obtain IDs, but you will also work closely with our internal clinical psychologists to help your members to recognise their strengths and build resilience.
About you

You have experience supporting people with complex trauma and multiple needs including mental health, physical health and substance misuse difficulties, a history of multiple exclusion and social isolation.

You have worked within a relevant sector which could include domestic violence, women’s services, migrants’ services, probation, or health services.

You have knowledge of relevant housing, homelessness, social care, and welfare legislation.

Supporting people with complex disabilities to take part in a range of learning, leisure, health and wellbeing-based activities during daytime hours, with some occasional flexibility required on an out of hours basis

We are looking for people to join our Bristol Complex Needs in Totterdown, Bristol as a Project Worker. The service provides accommodation and housing related support to people experiencing homelessness; dedicated to providing a safe, high quality and inclusive service to people while they are living in the hostel, and a positive move-on into independent housing.
In the role of Project Worker, you will:
- Oversee a caseload of clients and provide ongoing 1-1 support in an approachable, caring and person-centred way.
- Provide practical and personal support to clients with complex needs around areas such as housing and health.
- Have a good understanding of a person centred approach and how to provide the right support to clients to meet individual needs, identifying personal aims and ambitions and making plans to achieve them.
- Work with the team, external statutory agencies and voluntary organisations to ensure everyone has access to available support.
- Continue to develop your skills further around working with clients in a holistic way, and to gain a deeper understanding of housing and benefits law, and other specialist areas through training, supervision and line management support.
In this role you will work on a shift rota Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. In some of these role’s staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
About you
We are looking for enthusiastic people with experience of dealing with complex and difficult situations in relation to people and helping people throughout difficult periods and a process of change. You should also demonstrate:
- A sound understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing homelessness, and the difficulties they can experience in accessing services.
- Some experience of liaising with a number of individuals or agencies to achieve effective outcomes for others.
- Excellent communication and listening skills and the ability to work with a variety of different people.

Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, IBIS House supports people who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient stays but have other barriers to discharge. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.

What you'll do:
Assessing referrals received by the service, within the 4-hour target, and providing rapid response to these.
Inducting new customers and helping orient them to the community and local area
Completing/supporting housing referrals as required, supporting customers with budgeting tools and providing support to customers in accessing any benefits or addressing any issues such as benefits.
Building a relationship with the local borough and any key agencies. For example: no recourse to public funds teams, homelessness teams, community mental health teams etc.
Support planning, including ward management liaison, medication profiles and medication reviews as required, identifying the goals and steps to support customers to manage their own support and risk and ensuring these are correctly documented within Look Ahead's paperwork

About the Role:
As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for delivering targeted, person-centred interventions for individuals within SHP’s Camden Adult Pathway Hostels. Your role will involve holding a designated caseload and working closely with the wider client group through our in-house recovery programme. With a strong focus on harm minimisation, dual diagnosis, and strengths/recovery frameworks, you’ll help to empower service users to make positive changes and progress towards independence.

- Work dynamically with service managers, project workers, and other professionals within the Camden Accommodation Pathway to deliver tailored interventions and improve outcomes for service users.
- Foster proactive working relationships with Adult Social Care, Health, Mental Health, and other specialist providers to improve access and opportunities for service users.

About You:
- Demonstrable experience working with individuals facing homelessness or complex needs, such as mental health challenges, substance use, and physical health issues. Experience in residential or accommodation-based services is a plus.
- A strong understanding of the health and social care sector, including how to navigate between and across specialties. A deep understanding of the barriers service users face on their journey towards independence, such as domestic violence, anger management, and learning impairments.
- Excellent person-centred engagement skills, group work facilitation, and the ability to manage complex caseloads. Strong team-working skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals.

We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support to our teams in high support 24-hour projects as well as medium support and transitional housing units to ensure that our properties are safe, secure, and welcoming through the night. You will be based at the Horsham Y Centre and will support the static night worker there during the night as well as undertaking your mobile duties.
Working on site you will be responsible for ensuring the service is safe by keeping clear records of night time activity within the building. You will regularly complete building checks and monitor CCTV upkeeping health and safety regulations in accordance with YMCA DLG's policies and procedures. You will work to prevent any anti-social behaviour from impacting our neighbours and other residents. You will work alongside other support staff to maximise the wellbeing of residents by completing one to one interventions with young people who may be experiencing mental health crisis and/or who may need medical assistance.
This is a mobile role, requiring all applicants to have a full valid, UK Driving Licence. You will also be lone working as part of the role, so you will need to be comfortable with decision making and following procedures.
