We now have an exciting opening for a Head of Media, PR & Editorial. The postholder will be responsible for developing and supporting key campaigns and strategies that help to promote and explain the work, impact, health messaging and funding needs to diverse audiences. You will achieve these through PR and media relations, awareness-raising campaign development, supporter stories, celebrity/ambassador management, and the management of a small team, including staff and specialist consultant support.
We are seeking an experienced communications professional with demonstrable expertise and a track-record of success in managing communications for a charity, health or science-related organisation, including developing successful media strategies, with positive press coverage, and writing clear, engaging copy for different audiences across digital and social media channels. The successful candidate will also have proven experience planning and managing multiple cross-departmental projects.

About the role:
The role plays a key role in developing and delivering our media & communication strategy both internal and external, supporting the Head of Media & Communications. The role is key in ensuring that the public, partners, stakeholders and our people are informed and engaged with the work of Drinkaware.
The key areas of responsibility are:
· Planning, implementing and evaluating Drinkaware’s media and communications activities
· Raising Drinkaware’s profile and voice in the media

Supporting Social Media & Content Officer in developing and growing our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn).
· Manage Drinkaware’s press office, responding to enquiries, maximising coverage, drafting media releases and providing an out-of-hours system on occasion.
· Manage key organisational communications related to Drinkaware’s positions, in conjunction with the Head of Policy and Public Affairs and the Director of Evidence and Impact.
· Manage, review and update Drinkaware’s lines to take; its ‘boilerplate’ messages and its standard responses.
· Advise others on Drinkaware tone of voice and brand to help ensure all content leaving the organisation is on brand and enhances our reputation.
· Contribute to feeding media and strategic communications activity into the organisational planning process and overall plan.
· Contribute to key reference documents (organisational key messages; editorial guidelines etc)
· Deliver compelling content and plans to Drinkaware’s stakeholder audiences. Working with internal teams to target funders and other stakeholders including health professionals, police, local government and academics.
· Maximise our profile with B2B audiences via trade publications; social media and news outlets.
· Keep Drinkaware staff informed about Drinkaware coverage and other relevant coverage around alcohol and alcohol harm.
· Develop and maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders and journalists and build a positive network with media counterparts in Drinkaware partners and stakeholder organisations.
· Work with Drinkaware colleagues to maximise our communications’ reach and ensure we are working in an efficient and integrated way.
· Work with the Head of Media and Communications to develop Drinkaware’s reputation positively across all media, mitigating reputational risk and leading on crisis management
· Work with Head of Communications to plan and deliver effective Internal Communications
· Support the Senior Social Media & Digital Content Officer in manging the Drinkaware social channels when required.
Tone of voice
· Become expert in the Drinkaware Tone of voice, so you can advise others and spot errors
· Support the Creative Content Lead in embedding the Tone of voice across Drinkaware
About you:
You will have a track record of working within a similar role. You will have experience in working in a press office, devising and delivering stories and coverage. As part of our highly skilled, passionate and creative Media & Communications team, you will help to plan, implement and evaluate Drinkaware’s media and communications activities to drive positive coverage and comment about the charity across the UK. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director who will be responsible for the work of the charity within the UK. The Director will be the strategic and day to day leader of the UK organisation and will also work hands-on not only with his/her direct reports but also all teams in the office. We are seeking a leader who can take the UK charity’s fundraising to new heights; thus, this is a particularly important focus area.
The role will be directly overseeing the World Cancer Research Fund UK’s Fundraising and Health Information Departments. You will report to the CEO and work in partnership with the UK CEO and other senior executives in updating and implementing the organisation’s strategy and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of directing and leading a similar sized UK philanthropic organisation (or a fundraising team within a larger charity), including writing and implementing strategies and evaluating outcomes. This is an exceptional opportunity for an Executive Assistant to join The Prince’s Trust supporting three members of the Executive Leadership Team – Director of Fundraising & Marketing, Director of Communications and Director of People & Learning.
This is a busy, varied and important role working closely with the Directors to make sure their diaries support their strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include:
- complex diary management including all travel arrangements
- providing secretariat meeting support
- preparation of presentations & briefing papers ensuring Directors are well prepared

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have skill and experience in the following areas:
- Substantial experience of, and a strong track record in fundraising, including personally soliciting and stewarding 5, 6 and 7 figure gifts from corporate partnerships or major donors.
- Experience in income generating and stewardship event development, project management and delivery.
- Leadership skills with experience of leading a team, nurturing development and managing performance.
- Experience of strategy development and implementation.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written skills with great attention to detail, and an ability to flex your style according to the audience.
- Managing a diverse workload with multiple deadlines, deliverables and stakeholders, thinking creatively to leverage opportunities and develop relationships.

The Group Finance Director holds a key role in the executive team in the Foundation Office of the Charity. They are accountable for all matters relating to the UWGCF Charity finance, including the oversight of school income, endowment investments, loans, subsidiary companies, VAT, and the leadership of the Foundation finance team. To succeed in the job, the post holder needs to build effective working relationships with independent school bursars and finance teams and link effectively with the Business managers in the state funded academies.
The UWGCF is a complex organisation, and the post holder will need to demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build effective and supportive working relationships with other and be prepared to engage fully in the work of the Foundation. This may mean working outside of normal working hours but most importantly means communicating and work with colleagues as part of the team.
Initially they will report to the Chair of Trustees, although following a Governance Review and further work on Foundation Strategy, the Trustees may appoint a Foundation CEO. In the meantime the Foundation Office is led by a joint executive comprising three executives: Director of Governance and Operations, Director of HR, and Director of Finance.
