Head of Professionals Regulation (Adjudication and Associates)- 15 month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic individual to lead our Adjudication and Associates team to ensure our hearings function runs smoothly whilst supporting our strategic vision for regulatory excellence.

Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid working approach) This a hybrid role with an expectation that you will be working from the Canary Wharf office at least one day per week, and as and when required for in-person hearings or meetings.

Hours: Between 28 – 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday

The Role

As part of the Enforcement portfolio’s senior leadership team, the Head of Professional Regulation will lead a high performing team to meet key strategic objectives and ensure the successful delivery of our regulatory remit. You will be at the forefront of ensuring public safety and shaping our regulatory services, all while championing innovation, service improvement and inclusivity.

This role is subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of our pre-employment due diligence.

The successful applicant will:

• Lead with expertise: Provide strategic direction and expert advice on all adjudication-related matters to the Executive and GPhC Council, deputising for the Chief Enforcement Officer where required.

About the Role: .The Head of Advocacy and Campaigns will lead the development and delivery of a UK and international advocacy strategy, as well as overseeing our policy and campaigns functions. The postholder will Raise MAP’s profile, trust and reputation among target audiences including UK Parliament, the UK Government, international institutions, and NGO partners and campaigning groups.

Responsibilities 

Leadership of MAP’s UK and international advocacy and campaigning

• Lead MAP’s advocacy and campaigns, ensuring professional and impactful political influencing with key targets including Government, Civil Service, Parliament, and international institutions.

• Collaborate with the Deputy Director and colleagues in Palestine and Lebanon to align MAP’s advocacy with programs, partners, and civil society networks, fostering participatory models to amplify community voices.

• Lead and manage a team, setting  clear development objectives, ensuring effective delivery, meeting organisational objectives, and fostering an innovative and creative approach

• Working closely with colleagues in the Communications Team, oversee the development of impactful campaigns to mobilise supporters, the public and media to raise awareness, influence public narratives and drive action by the UK and other governments.

• Ensure strong working relationships with relevant colleagues, adopting and encouraging a collaborative working approach and building advocacy capacities across teams

• Collaborate with the Fundraising Team to identify and pursue opportunities for team growth, in line with organisational objectives. 

• Represent MAP at meetings and briefings with key  stakeholders and targets, and brief senior colleagues on strategy. 

• Build a strong network of campaigning partners and contacts to help expand the reach and impact of our campaigns.

• Manage the team’s budget 

Advocacy and Campaigns Strategy

• Collaborate with the Director and Deputy Director to develop and deliver a robust UK advocacy and political influencing strategy, aiming to secure impactful foreign and aid policy actions from the UK government and stakeholders to uphold Palestinians' rights to health, dignity, and justice.

• Develop and oversee a targeted international advocacy strategy, identifying opportunities and tactics to influence policies and actions of the US, European countries, and UN forums, supporting MAP’s advocacy priorities.

• Oversee the development of creative and impactful campaigns to engage the UK and international public, civil society partners and influencers with MAP’s advocacy priorities – and work with the fundraising team to integrate advocacy and fundraising campaigns.

• Develop power mapping of key policymakers, thought influencers and relevant institutions, and develop stakeholder engagement plans in line with strategic objectives.

• Set quantifiable and timely targets to deliver on this strategy and implement through effective project management. 

• Implement monitoring, evaluation and learning processes to ensure the team’s work remains ambitious and impactful and produce regular reporting for senior management and relevant stakeholders.

• Plan and identify key influencing milestones throughout the year and put in place outputs and work to use them to maximal effect.

• Promote MAP’s advocacy priorities and improve collective impact through strategic partnerships with other agencies, organisations, institutions and campaigning networks across the humanitarian and human rights sectors and beyond

Policy and research leadership

• Oversee research and analysis to support policy and campaign objectives, ensuring evidence-based insights inform advocacy efforts.

• Work with the Deputy Director and Programmes teams to develop impact-focused research streams in line with our advocacy priorities and the data and insights produced by Programmes and partners

• Lead on the promotion of MAP’s research, insights and policy products in line with our advocacy and influencing strategies.

• Work with the Deputy Director and Programmes teams to develop new participatory models of research and policy development with the communities we serve

• Lead the creation and coordination of MAP’s policy positioning, identifying goals and avenues for influence to achieve them, and analysing risk and strategies for mitigation.

• Oversee and maintain effective mapping of the policy positioning of key targets of influence, using this to inform the wider advocacy and campaigns work and creating innovative ways to make the case to and move targets through influence.

• Develop tools to ensure MAP’s policy positions, advocacy calls and insights are recorded and well communicated internally.

• Commission and provide detailed review of research and advocacy products, to ensure the highest standards of quality and evidence and alignment with MAP’s policies, positioning and language guidelines, and ensure they are concise, audience-focused and impactful.

• Advise senior colleagues on contextual insights and MAP’s policy and political positionality, including key recommendations for external targets

Job Requirements

We are looking for an experienced HR professional to become our Head of People & Culture, to lead our HR function, to act as the charity’s organisational lead on its culture, and to sit on the charity’s Senior Leadership Team. You will also act as SLT lead for Diversity and Inclusion. 

The role at a glance

Contract  - Permanent. This role can be either full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) - responsibilities will be adjusted proportionally for part-time candidates.

• Lead data management and consistency across all systems, including

What experience and track record do you have?

It’s not essential you tick every box. But the more boxes you can tick the better. It goes without saying, we can help you gain and learn from the experiences you haven’t had yet.

• Proven experience across CRM, databases, community/content platforms, newsletter distribution, integration and automation tools. This could be from previous roles such as data analytics, community building, digital marketing or business transformation.

• Comfortable with principles of coding in Python but no need to be a pro.

• Strong understanding of data management and GDPR requirements.

• Led digital transformation/change projects, with a strong approach to project management and stakeholder engagement.

• Designed and delivered training, and/or produced clear and concise written user guides, taking time to understand the needs and starting points of the team.

• Experience with management, analysis and visualisation of large-scale data sets - ideally in educational outcomes/performance.

• Experience of the realities of working for an early-stage organisation without a big team or huge budget. We are especially interested in those who have grown a tech team/function from the ground up.

Our expectation is that you have worked within the school education sector in England, though we are open to applicants who have not if you can show you have a good base of knowledge of the needs of school teachers and leaders.

About Leadership Lighthouses

Leadership Lighthouses will support the development of social leaders from Black and racially minoritised communities, aiming to increase their confidence, skills, resilience and wellbeing, and ultimately, increase the impact they have with the communities they support. This national programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund*, follows on from a research project and a successful pilot in 2022.

Over the course of five years, we will work alongside a range of expert partners, and specialised coaches and facilitators to reach around 300 leaders, primarily through local programmes in England, in addition to national activity.

Role Description

The Racial Equity Programme Lead will be part of our talented, agile and welcoming team of 7. This is a newly established role that will be managed by the Programmes Director, and work closely with the CEO, the wider organisation and those involved in this programme, including expert collaborators, partners and a steering group. There are no line management responsibilities.

The key responsibilities of the role are to:

● Offer valuable insights and learning from the Leadership Lighthouses programme and support their integration to       ensure our organisation's work remains inclusive and impactful.

● Lead and manage the Leadership Lighthouses programme, with a collaborative approach, building strong relationships with partners and participants, actively listening and responding to their needs.

● Ensure effective deployment of resources to achieve the programme objectives and targets.

● Design and implement robust management processes to ensure good governance and successful project outcomes.

● Support delivery partners and manage the partnership relationship, ensuring consistent and high-quality work, addressing any shortcomings appropriately.

● Provide administrative support to the Steering Group.

● Anticipate and mitigate risks to ensure milestones and targets are met.

● Monitor expenditure against the programme budget, working with delivery partners to ensure optimal use of available funds.

● Collaborate with the Clore Social Marketing team and other agencies to promote the programme.

● Manage the relationship with the independent programme evaluator and implement evaluation findings as necessary.

● Provide written quarterly reports to funders, partners, and stakeholders. Offer regular verbal updates to the Programmes Director, CEO and programme partners, providing assurance around project performance.

● Manage relationships with the National Lottery Community Fund, ensuring timely and accurate responses to queries or requests for information.

Terms and working hours

We are open to discussing flexible arrangements before or on application.

● This is a five-year fixed term contract role.

● The role is to be fulfilled over a 28-hour week, ideally within our core working hours (Mon-Fri, 10am–4pm UK time), with flexibility as required.

Place of work

● This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.

● Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.

Pay and benefits

● Salary for this role will be £32,000 based on 28 hours per week (£40,000 full time equivalent FTE).

● The post holder is entitled to 20 days of annual leave (25 days FTE), in addition to UK statutory holidays.

● The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.

● You have the option to join our contributory pension scheme. The employer's contribution is 3% with a minimum employee contribution of 5%.

• Lead our Alternative Provision programme - ‘Inspire to Work’, in partnership with Woodbridge Park Education Service (Hounslow Pupil Referral Unit), providing Year 11 students with meaningful employer engagement, workplace experiences, one-day-a-week supported internships and transition support.

Overall purpose

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.

As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.

You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. Leading by example you will own a number of our key relationships to drive growth, whilst bringing your experience to bear to coach your team and ensure structures and processes are in place to enable high performance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for two Heads of Service to join our organisation! There are two positions to be filled one with a special focus on Criminal Justice Services and the other with a focus on Homelessness and complex needs including mental health.

You will be responsible for providing positive and inspirational leadership across services to create positive communities, empowerment to individuals, and ensure psychologically informed environments! You will be responsible for ensuring services maintain the highest standards of service delivery, quality, performance and improvements. You will have the overall responsibility to ensure services are adhering to regulatory compliance as provided by commissioners, SIG, and all relevant stakeholders.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, with some Hybrid working as well as being based at Central Office, and making regular service visits. You will also take part of our out of office on call duty.

Head of Homelessness and Complex Needs

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

People Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership, and line management to staff, offering guidance, support, and advice to the team to support them to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle. This includes but is not limited to;
  Recruitment, onboarding, inductions, probation reviews, support and supervision, employee relations, performance, learning and development, staff wellbeing and support, grievances, sickness, disciplinaries, retention and other areas which fall within the employee lifecycle. 
• Ensure Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in best practice and policy is in place and being embedded across all services. 

Operational Leadership

• Managerial and leadership oversight of the service area as agreed, ensuring delivery in line with Social Interest Group’s annual business plans, contractual requirements, and KPI’s, including making sure all legislative requirements and targets are being met. 
• Support managers to create person centred, psychologically informed environments that deliver high quality services which are underpinned by our theory of change.
• Responsible for regular review of operational dashboards and monitoring of performance and KPI’s, creating reports and submitting these to relevant stakeholders. 
• Create, maintain, and communicate reports using various channels and data software to measure various metrics of performance, trends, and other relevant reporting criteria. Communicate this effectively to various stakeholders internally and externally.

Organisational Growth/Business Development/Relationship Management

• Support with sourcing, developing, and improving operational growth. This could include supporting the organisation with finding new opportunities, supporting with bid writing process, and implementation process of new services and other opportunities in the organisation. 
• Support on commissioner negotiations to ensure contractual compliance is upheld between both parties, including negotiating pathways into services to mitigate reduced positive outcomes and associated financial loss.
• Lead on any mobilisations and implementation of new services in collaboration with all relevant departments across the business and deliver new services to budget requirements, in a timely manner.

Audit, Compliance, Risk

• Regularly undertake staff-assessment audits of services against key quality and risk standards, and ensure all actions and improvements are acted on within required timeframes.
• Ensure all services follow correct safeguarding and risk management protocols and procedures.
• Undertake fact finding and any external/internal investigations, ensuring they are in line with organisational policy, as well as associated formal hearings.

Financial Management

• Budget Management: Promote and manage effective cost control mechanisms, management of the overall budget for the given operational group, work collaboratively with other teams to set the service budgets, review monthly accounts, and ensure effective management of the areas budget and reporting. 
• Lead on the annual review of contracts with commissioners and/or other relevant stakeholders internally and externally to ensure the service budgets are adequate to meet the needs of the contracts and any associated risk.
• Have overall oversight over the operational group, approve budget items and costs, ensure headcount is well managed and within budget, and make any adaptations if necessary.

 Carers Services Worker – Money and More Project Lead

Fixed term to March 2026 (in the first instance)

Salary: £26,421

Hours: 35 hours per week, usually 9am – 4.30pm with flexibility

Holidays: 27 days plus public holidays and length of service days

Pension: 7.5%

About the role:

We understand that a spinal cord injury can be devastating, but we believe it shouldn’t prevent anyone from getting the most out of life. And we’re here to help make sure that can happen. We provide a range of services for people affected by spinal cord injury, and this provides us with a unique insight into the issues they face in their day-to-day lives.

The role of Head of Data and Systems is a new one and reflects the growth and diversification of how we reach our audience and offer them support. We want to reach everyone affected by spinal cord injury across the UK.

To do that, we are embarking on a significant change programme to become a ‘data enabled organisation’, which will ultimately involve replacing the systems we currently use.

As our Head of Data and Systems, you will design and lead this exciting phase in our development. Reporting to the Data Protection Officer and working with the Data and Systems Manager, you will work across the whole organisation.

You will take responsibility for the programme at every stage, using your technical skills equally with your ability to support and influence others to bring about organisation-wide change.

Above all, you will be passionate about being able to demonstrate the impact of what we do, and you will see for yourself how Back Up quite literally transforms lives every day.
