Resolve Poverty is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to support the growth and development of the organisation as we embark on our four-year strategy.  

About the role 

This exciting new internal and external facing role will support the realisation of Resolve Poverty’s ambitious four year strategy as the organisation seeks to have impact nationwide.  

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the senior leadership team, alongside the CEO and Head of Policy. The COO will work closely with the CEO and manage key internal operations and functions’ including Human Resources (liaising with our external HR consultant) , IT and administration. This will include establishing new systems and processes as required and ensuring the smooth delivery of existing ones.  

Externally, the COO will oversee Resolve Poverty’s existing programmes, with a remit to grow those programmes and secure funding to pilot new programme initiatives focussed on promoting the financial wellbeing of low income households.  

Additionally, the COO working with the CEO will support governance functions, including reporting to the board and overseeing the organisation’s finances.  

The role comes with line management of Resolve Poverty’s programmes team and Finance and Administration Officer. 

Particulars 

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000.   

Paid annual leave entitlement: 25 days pro-rata plus bank holidays. An additional leave day is provided for each full calendar year worked up to a maximum of 29 days.

Contract type: Permanent.

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week).  

Line management responsibilities: Programme Officer, Finance and Administration Officer, seconded Financial Inclusion Officers. 

Location: Combination of homeworking and office based. There is an expectation that you will work at least two days per week from our offices in central Manchester. Some travel across the country is expected.

Probationary period: 6 months.

Operational 

• Oversight alongside the CEO of internal operations, including Human Resources and other policies, administration, office management and IT.  

• Establishing and embedding new processes  to support organisational operations as appropriate.  

• Working with SLT to support the delivery of Resolve Poverty’s organisational strategy.

• Upholding safeguarding principles and processes to the highest standard. 

• Acting in compliance with our policies and processes at all times, ensuring our data is stored and managed in line with GDPR.

• Working with the CEO to support governance functions, including reporting to the board and overseeing the organisation’s finances.  

Programmes 

• Developing a pipeline of fundable programmes relating to Resolve Poverty’s Maximising the financial resources available to households strategic priority.  

• Securing programme funding, working to a growth/scale up plan.   

• Upholding, developing and implementing programmes policies, ensuring processes are effectively followed throughout the team. 

• Understanding funder commitments for each Programme area, working with the CEO to ensure commitments are met, with regular engaging funder reports against progress. 

• Being accountable for the programmes KPIs and setting up of new projects – ensuring robust monitoring and evaluation is in place.  

• Direct delivery of programme work as required.  

Line management 

• Day to day line management of programme and finance and administration staff. Managing these staff effectively, in line with Resolve Poverty’s established line management processes.  

Person specification 

• Experience of being part of a senior leadership team.

• Capable of playing a leadership role within an organisation, with the ability to motivate others.

• Experience of line management. 

• Experience of project and/or programme management. 

• Experience of securing six figure funding and of managing budgets. 

• The ability to manage and grow existing programmes. 

• An appetite to  develop new programme activities that maximise the financial resources available to households.

• Knowledge of organisational processes and systems with the ability to develop new processes and systems.

• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• The ability to maintain oversight of a range of competing priorities, with strong time management, organisational and planning skills. 

• Excellent IT skills, proficient in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel. 

• The ability to work, with supervision, as part of a small team and a willingness to work flexibly and outside of normal working hours as required.

• Knowledge of poverty in the UK, including understanding of the main causes of poverty and of the role of localities and regions in addressing poverty.

Aquarius Action Projects, is looking for a Floating Housing Support Practitioner to join their team. Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) is a partnership between four organisations jointly responsible for the delivery of the drug, alcohol, homelessness and gambling services, in the Borough of Solihull. We offer services for adults who use or are affected by substance use, homelessness and gambling.

Your challenge? As a Floating Housing Support Worker, you will be working with clients who are vulnerably housed or homeless, working in clients’ homes and various locations to support clients in addressing their substance needs, finding accommodation and being able to live independently.The service covers support for clients who are homeless and at risk of becoming homeless, as well as a more structured longer-term floating support service to enable clients to maintain their tenancies. You will understand the barriers clients face to accessing services, and the impact substance use has on sustaining accommodation.

To succeed, you’ll:

• Have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).  Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
• Be an energetic and confident self-starter.
• Have experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporter care and ideally have prior experience in a donor support role or experience in customer service, administration as well as data entry. Main duties of the job

This is an integral role which aspires to give our supporters the best possible experience on their fundraising journey with the aim of building long term relationships. The role will take a lead on Supporter Care with all donors for the charity team, acting as a helpful and knowledgeable “front-line face” for patients, families, staff and volunteers.

Key duties: 

- Manage the start and end of the stewardship journey for all donors and fundraisers by dealing with all enquiries through email, post or phone or face to face at the office ensuring that we meet the best standards of donor care 

 - Manage post and charity office filing system and the banking and thanking process 

- Maintain relationships through regular contact with donors throughout their fundraising journey offering any support or guidance needed to maximise their giving

- Act as a dynamic presence, leading and recruiting volunteers, community groups and small companies to organise fundraisers for our charity

- Build fantastic connections with patients, NHS staff, volunteers and our wider community to recruit new donors, fundraisers, volunteers and charity champions

- Support in growing the number of supporters playing the hospital lottery and those giving through our hospital ‘giving plaques

- Support all fundraising activity and represent the charity at events

- Manage and maintain the CRM system (donorfy) which includes entering all donor data including financial transactions and communications 

- Send updates to supporters to retain and increase life-time value and reactivate lapsed donors

We work with over 200 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages. What is the Role?

The Partnerships Account Manager will drive business growth by securing new partnerships and managing key client accounts across designated regions. Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Acquisition and Relationship Management

3. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

   • Oversee tracking and analysis of client-related statistics to ensure targets are met and clients receive impactful, value-driven service.

   • Manage and track client data and prospect pipelines using CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.

   • Report to SLT on accounts, Tenders, Bids, client meetings on a regular basis

4. Team Management and Support Coordination

   • Lead, mentor, and manage two administrators focused on bid-writing, tender management, and client-related administration.

   • Support administrators in producing and reviewing high-quality bid documents and responses that align with client requirements and enhance our partnership outcomes.

   • Provide oversight to ensure that administrative tasks are completed efficiently, supporting smooth client interactions and consistent follow-through.

   • Work with other leads like allocations and recruitment to ensure we can fulfil referrals

   • Foster a strong working relationship between bid writers and recruitment to ensure we can find tutors and go for the right bids. 

5. Bid Management and Process Improvement

   • Oversee the preparation and submission of tenders and bids, working closely with administrators to ensure high-quality and timely submissions.

About the Role

The Connection at St. Martins is based in the heart of London, in the most concentrated area of rough sleeping in the UK.  We have an ambitious strategy to tackle rough sleeping in central London with those people who are most persistently on the streets. Building relationships of trust with clients is at the heart of our work.  To achieve this in practice, we have a fully trauma informed approach across the whole charity with psychologists embedded in our service delivery teams.

Alongside running our busy day centre at Adelaide Street by Trafalgar Square, we are developing our access to accommodation.  This includes a project to extend our scheme in Clapham with a new building during 2025.  The extension will provide 3 additional studio flats and activity spaces.  This is the first in a longer term goal to introduce more accommodation into our service portfolio so that we can house an additional 300 of our Adelaide Street clients by 2028.  We are also keen to develop our links into health, through partnerships with the NHS and other treatment services.  Finally, we would like to further improve our offer for women and for people with No Recourse to Public Funds. 

The Director of Services is a vital role for us and this is an incredibly exciting opportunity for someone who shares our passion for addressing rough sleeping.  The successful candidate will be ambitious and tenacious in developing high quality services and growing our support.  They must be able to build really strong relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders alongside bringing extensive experience from homelessness, mental health, addiction or the criminal justice sector.

About You:

This role is for you if you are an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser, with good knowledge of the sector. You'll have demonstrable experience of securing five and six figure grants to achieve annual income targets, both through stewarding existing supporters and through researching and cultivating a pipeline of new opportunities.

You will also be skilled in understanding and translating complex information and turning it in to compelling written proposals, for grants, corporate partnerships and major donors.

We do require someone who is proactive, hardworking and results-orientated.

Essential role requirements include:
