Purpose

The HR Administrator role is an excellent opportunity for someone with HR or admin experience, who is interested in starting/progressing an HR career and looking to gain experience in a friendly but busy small HR team. The Role Within Unseen

Unseen provides support to people who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human trafficking and actively champions capturing voices in our work and providing development opportunities for those we are working with. Unseen also engages with a range of external partners to promote and facilitate person-centered and survivor informed responses to exploitation.

We develop evidence-based research and policy recommendations that are built from our support and collaboration work with survivors, key statutory service partners and NGOs. The Opportunity

We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer to become an integral member of the fundraising team as we look to diversify and grow our individual giving programme.

Individual giving is a key income stream for Born Free, and you will be supporting the Head of Public Fundraising to grow income from new and existing supporters, including through existing products and testing new ways for people to give. • Data insight: Work alongside the Head of Public Fundraising and Supporter Data & Insight Manager to ensure the selection and segmentation maximise results. Use campaign data to track and report on the effectiveness of activity, attrition levels, and inform decision-making and future planning.
• Strategy & Planning: Work alongside the Head of Public Fundraising and Director of Fundraising to produce and execute an effective and sustainable individual giving plan to grow income from new and existing donors.
• Budgets: Support the Head of Public Fundraising with compiling budgets, phasing and monitoring Individual Giving income and expenditure.
• External trends and regulation: Keep up to date with fundraising trends and legislation in relation to public fundraising, and ensure compliance with the Charity Commission, fundraising regulation and data protection requirements, including the General Data Protection Directive; Ensure all individual giving activity complies with the appropriate regulation and legislation and delivers an excellent experience for supporters.

The successful candidate should ideally demonstrate the following attributes:

• Direct marketing experience (essential) and digital marketing experience (essential)
• Highly numerate and extremely comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and KPIs
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build effective relationships with colleagues, donors and external suppliers.
• Proven experience in working with Microsoft Office, Excel, and relational databases (including data input), ideally with knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or equivalent CRM.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate effectively to both external and internal audiences.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills and an ability to prioritise work, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines, with a strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with third party suppliers including creative agencies, printers and fulfilment house.

Overall purpose

This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

You will contribute to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, ensuring that your work is anchored in our organisational and team strategic goals. You will also be closely involved in team planning, whether it’s inputting into our operational plan or sharing ideas for new campaigns. 

There are opportunities to get hands-on developing and delivering communications and fundraising campaigns to educate and inspire individuals, businesses, and other audiences. The aim of these campaigns is to help remove barriers to employment for refugees and bring about systemic change via our partnerships. Please note, we do not currently run political campaigns.

You will be responsible for creating and delivering day-to-day communications across our owned channels (social media, email newsletters, and some website content). You will also help colleagues create content for earned and paid communications that they’re leading on (press and media, digital marketing, engagement with influencers)

A team player, you will build strong relationships across Breaking Barriers so that you can source and develop content that:

• increases our visibility and influence
• showcases our impact
• inspires members of the public to help refugees build new lives in the UK
• engages and stewards our key audiences, including corporate partners, employees who advocate for refugees, individual donors, volunteers, and people of a refugee background.

You will support the Senior Communications Manager to maintain our strong brand, ensuring that all our content complies with our brand guidelines and is of a high standard.

With a good eye for detail, you will play a key role in our data management, including overseeing data on the storytelling section of our CRM, monitoring communications enquiries, and setting up and running reports. You will become a Salesforce Superuser (full training and support will be provided for this).

About the role

We’re excited to be recruiting a talented Trusts and Foundations Manager who will help to develop and increase income from this emerging income stream for Habitat. With the support of our Head of Philanthropy, the Trusts and Foundations Manager will research new opportunities, and manage the existing pipeline to meet our income targets.

What the role involves

Trusts and foundations are becoming a growing contributor to Habitat’s global programmes and to our work here in the UK, and there is significant potential to develop this further. The role will initially account manage all funders giving up to £50,000, with potential to work on, and take ownership of, larger projects as we grow.  Principle activities will include:

Researching new opportunities: Using a variety of sources to proactively identify relevant funding opportunities, matching these with Habitat’s strategic priorities, and planning approaches.

 Making applications: Using your exceptional writing skills to synthesise complex information from a range of sources and craft compelling proposals which clearly communicate the impact of Habitat’s programming globally and in the UK, and the synergy with funder criteria.  

 Stewarding funders: Building our credibility through timely reporting and communication, and tailoring this to the interests of the funder, with the aim of securing repeat and uplifted funding.

Putting a robust administration framework in place: You’ll need to keep Raiser’s Edge, the CRM system we use, up to date, ensure that funder deadlines are met, and future opportunities recorded.

The skills we are looking for:

Experience

Previous experience of raising funds from Trusts and Foundations for development programs across the world and in the UK, and an understanding of the landscape in order to research and qualify opportunities.

Financial literacy, able to review budgets and manage targets and KPIs.

Working in an International context, for an NGO or another organisation.
