Responsibilities

Strategy

• Working with the Board to articulate a clear and compelling vision for growth with realistic and measurable goals for scaling our program and social impact.
• Communicating effectively between the Board of Trustees and our team, and ensuring daily activities align with the organisation's strategic plan and KPI’s.
• Working with the Board of Trustees to mitigate organisational risks and enable decisions that will protect against major business disruption
• Ensuring business plans progress efficiently ensuring required resources are available.
• Developing effective collaborations with VCSE organisations, the NHS, Public Health and community partners to provide our members access to a wide range of services.

Stability

• Overseeing the development and optimisation of the organisation's infrastructure, including technology, facilities, and human resources, to support increased capacity.
• Overseeing the robust financial management of our finances to ensure long-term sustainability, compliance, and efficiency.
• Developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that builds and nurtures strong relationships with existing and prospective funders.
• Building capacity by recruiting top talents as Trustees, staff or volunteers, offer training and support to equip them with the skills needed and to develop their leadership skills.
• Supporting our staff team with professional development, good working conditions, supportive management, and regular performance appraisals.

Scalability

• Ensuring evidence-based systems for monitoring and evaluating the impact of our service are implemented, using service user data and feedback to make informed decisions and adjustments.

You will be supported by and work alongside our Artistic Director who will be stepping down from her current CEO role.

Our teams are currently spread across Norfolk and West Suffolk so you will need to be able to travel independently around the counties with your main base being in our Swaffham office, although some home working may be required.

Main Requirements

· To oversee the for the planning, management and delivery of all services, ensuring that KPIs and CIPs are fully met.

· To work closely with the Operational Manager to ensure quality delivery of services provided the Norfolk/Suffolk team,  staff and volunteers.

· To develop and review the practice wheels and Logic Models that outlines the structure and research basis of the service. To engage with the Family Action Communities of Practice, roadshows and other internal opportunities to ensure strategic aims and objectives are constantly developing.

· To ensure a high standard of quality assurance and professional practice across the staff, through clinical and line management supervision, case audits, the use of MIR, Scorecard and Service Level Reports drawing upon data, and provision of training opportunities.

· Support Operational Manger to explore and identify areas of service needs across Norfolk and Suffolk and to build network and integrational working partnerships to support this.

· To be instrumental in shaping the future of the services both in Norfolk and Suffolk as well as part of the wider Central Team.

· Be responsible for the overall management, mentoring and support of Service Coordinators and, where needed, other staff.

· Deliver Family Action’s formal Annual Appraisal process for all workers, either ‘parenting’ or ‘grandparenting’ as required.

Overall purpose

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. You will enjoy variety. Your day could involve operational planning, developing a new campaign, briefing freelancers and agencies, finding compelling stories, creating our Impact Report, speaking with journalists, working on internal communications, or drafting social media posts.

The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, relationship building and negotiation skills. They will be collaborative and creative, drive projects forward, work effectively alongside the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and bring people together across the organisation. They will provide supportive, effective management to the Communications and Campaigns Officer, and be an internal advocate for the impact our Communications and Engagement can have.

You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the continuous development and delivery of a specialist service working in partnership with Central Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust, providing enhanced support to women with mental and physical health needs preparing to leave prison and resettle back in to the community. The Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) programme is a one-year postgraduate diploma course and is part of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Psychological Training Programmes (previously CYP IAPT). The EMHP Programme Director role sits within the Education and Training Division at Anna Freud within the Workforce Programmes stream in Post-Graduate Studies.   

The post-holder will deliver a high quality, academically coherent and inclusive programme curriculum in line with the evolving EMHP National Curriculum, UCL and British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation standards. 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of implementing CBT-informed interventions for low mood and anxiety as well evidence-based interventions for behavioural difficulties in educational settings; have a strong, demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and education and have experience in curriculum design, assessment and teaching in Higher Education.

The Role

• Responsible to: Project Manager (in conjunction with Head of Client Services)

We have a exciting opportunity for a Relief Store Manager to join us.

It’s a busy and varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to see how each shop is run, work with some amazing teams and make a vital contribution to the care the at the Hospice and within the community.

You would be covering and supporting the shops in our Central Area, the areas range from Horfield, Gloucester Road, Keynsham, Totterdown, Whitchurch, Fishponds and more.

The details:

• Salary: £26,279 up to £28,429 FTE per annum, dependant on experience
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days in 7
• Permanent role

Key responsibilities:

• Holding and covering the role of a Store Manager on an interim basis wherever required within our Central Area shops 
• Adapting your leadership style and approach to individual store situations and circumstances to effectively lead, coach teams and volunteers
• When supporting or covering stores, to ensure that the Hospice’s operational, health and safety, people and volunteer policies and procedures are being followed
• Delivering consistently high retail standards
• Actively supporting and demonstrating our values through your role
• Promotion of diversity and gender rights

What we are looking for:

• To be able to be flexible, pro active and to be able to adapt to ever changing needs
• Ideally, you will bring previous retail experience, gained at managerial / supervisory level
• Commercial awareness and demonstrable experience of managing a team, volunteers and delivering outstanding customer service would be equally advantageous
•  A genuine interest in fashion and charity retail
• Ability to earn trust, motivate, build rapport and provide leadership within short timescales
• High levels of organisation with a proactive approach
• Open and adaptable to change and able to support others through it
• IT literacy and numeracy skills. Using email systems and online resources; use and understand basic spreadsheets

Our small, ambitious team works in a collaborative and supportive way. A big focus of the role is prioritisation and planning, so you’ll support the Director of Programmes, Head of Impact & Effectiveness and wider team to prioritise, forward plan, manage diaries and prepare for meetings. This is a great role for someone wanting to develop their administrative experience and exposure to board and executive level working. You will have responsibility for supporting a Trustee level grant making committee. You’ll get exposure to the strategic overview of the Charity and insight into managing teams, grant-making and charity operations. Maudsley Charity works primarily with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, as well as a range of voluntary and community organisations to fund ideas, big and small, that drive service improvement and support people who experience mental illness.

The Role 
 

The role of Shop Manager involves actively running our new shop in Hull and implementing processes and ways of working.

As our Shop Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop including managing a Deputy Shop Manager and team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures.  
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards. 

• Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays. 

• Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment. 

• Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

• Be responsible for ensuring the team are working towards achieving all key performance indicators. 

• Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be ideally educated to A Level or equivalent. 

• To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable. 

• To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment. 

• To be highly organised with good time management skills. 

• To be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. 

• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• To be able to motivate self and others. 

• To have strong planning, guiding and motivation skills to successfully achieve targeted income is desirable. 

• To have good written and numeric skills are desirable.
