Join Operation Smile UK as our Senior Acquisition Manager and make a difference in the lives of children. We're searching for a fundraising professional with experience in acquiring new donors through a variety of fundraising channels including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops. You'll be responsible for managing a £2.4 million budget and developing innovative strategies to increase individual cash and regular giving support. This role is not responsible for the supervision or direction of staff.
Operation Smile is a global nonprofit specialising in cleft surgery and care. We provide medical training, education and mentorship to surgical teams around the world, along with expertise, research and care through our staff and volunteers, working alongside local governments, nonprofits and health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and drive recruitment of regular givers and cash givers to grow income and supporter volumes, in a multi-channel programme including Door to Door (F2F), digital fundraising channels, DRTV, cold mailing and door drops.
- Manage relationships with agency partners executing acquisition campaigns on behalf of Operation Smile UK for the betterment of the acquisition programme.
- Lead and execute our door-to-door (F2F) programme with the goal of expanding this form of acquisition fundraising over the coming years.
- Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of OSUK's digital acquisition fundraising program, including the performance of current agencies and consultants. Develop strategic recommendations and a future-focused plan that leverages the expertise of existing or new external partners.
- Full campaign management and execution in line with prescribed deadlines. This includes briefing agencies, sourcing content, managing data, copy development, proofing, briefing stakeholders, training agents, developing campaign analysis and reporting, managing costs and invoice processing.
- Monitor and report on budgets and assist in building future expenditure and income targets. Work as part of the Individual Giving team to reach strategic targets.
- Work closely with the Communications & Digital team, and Individual Giving team to ensure campaigns are in line with brand standards and integrated seamlessly with supporter retention.
- Work closely with the Individual Giving team to constantly refine the newly introduced ‘welcome programme’ aimed at transitioning new donors to retained donors and improving retention rate.
- To work closely with the Senior Database Manager and agency partners to review direct marketing acquisition campaigns and ensure that information is used to maximise income for future campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Senior Database Manager to develop and implement essential Power BI dashboards. Proactively request ad-hoc data analysis to track key acquisition metrics and inform strategic decision-making.
- Introduce new acquisition channels and develop existing ones within KPIs to manage risk and keep fundraising up-to-date within evolving channels.
- To ensure that campaigns are where possible integrated or co-ordinated thematically, creatively and/or by target audience to maximise impact.
- To lead in the training of external agencies, effectively communicating the work of Operation Smile to key representatives.
- Travel to meetings in the UK and overseas where necessary.

About the team:
The Individual Giving department is part of the Fundraising and Marketing directorate and brings in approximately £88m per annum through regular giving, one off gifts, prize-led fundraising, community and events and legacy and in memory. They report to Regional Supporter Relations Managers and, ultimately, the Head of Community Supporter Experiences.
What you need to know:
As the role is primarily customer-facing, the SRO is based at the rehoming centre. However, they spend a portion of their time in local communities. This role involves frequent travel, both locally and across the UK, including some overnight stays, as well as weekend and evening work. A full UK manual driving licence is essential.

About the role
The Philanthropy Account Manager sits within the Philanthropy Team and will work with supporters who are giving at the five and six-figure level. They can be individuals, couples or small family trusts and often support many different areas of our work, both financially and non-financially. As a team we are a friendly, innovative, creative, collaborative team and, whilst we have an ambitious income target this year, we are bold in our ambitions for growth. We are always up for trying new things, taking a few risks and learning from when things fail. The Philanthropy Manager role is varied, and alongside managing a portfolio of warm donors and prospects and securing five and six-figure gifts, there will be opportunities to lead on fundraising campaigns, events and other key projects. Other parts of the role include actively seeking new business working with our prospect researcher, building relationships to support and facilitate peer-to-peer giving, and finding new and creative ways to engage both new and existing donors in Crisis’ work. Creating compelling proposals, cases for support, reports and other bespoke communications will also be required. The successful candidate will manage, coach, and inspire the Philanthropy Administrator, and support them with their workload.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- A proven track record of building strong relationships with prospects and donors and securing gifts at the four to five-figure level.
- Experience of engaging and influencing high-value and high-profile individuals; understanding their motivations and inspiring confidence.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (including listening skills).

About the Administrator
At the National Garden Scheme a small central office with a team of 13 is the hub for a wide range of activity involving hundreds of volunteers, thousands of garden owners and a large audience of beneficiary charities, suppliers, supporters and partners, and members of the public who want to visit gardens and engage with the charity.
The administrator is the first point of contact for many of these, being responsible for answering the main telephone line and managing the general email inbox. They are also responsible for managing the office environment on behalf of their colleagues.

Commercial & Business Development:

The Membership Engagement Officer is an exciting and varied role at the College as you will be responsible for increasing engagement with members and enhancing the member experience, whilst driving engagement initiatives and increasing member retention.
As Membership Engagement Officer, you will work with multiple teams across the College helping to develop and implement strategies to attract, engage and retain members through events, social media, newsletters and other communication channels while developing content that caters for our diverse membership groups.
Working with the Communications Team, you will help create and manage engaging content for member communications, ensuring opportunities for two-way communications and engagement, whilst also ensuring the best use of emerging channels and technology – e.g. podcasts, apps and webinars – to deliver content to members, segmented to our different audience members.

We are delighted to introduce this job opportunity at the Culture Trust Luton for a 0.5 Project Manager. Through a successful funding application to The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we have been awarded £177,513 funding to deliver a Resilience project called ‘Reconnect’. This multi-faceted project explores the Trust’s customer services, sites and operations. There is also funding to deliver events and consultations as well as creative activities to promote engagement and volunteering. The Project also has a budget for making operational improvements that have been identified through the project.
We seek an experienced Project Manager to draw together the delivery of this project, coordinate specialist consultants, creatives and community groups and work with the Culture Trust Team on exploring and embedding change.We are a progressive, Luton-based, arts and cultural charity with a mission to connect communities through culture and creativity. We welcome 250,000 people across the year to our stunning heritage sites; the Hat Factory Arts Centre, Hat District creative workspaces, Wardown House Museum and Gallery, and Stockwood Discovery Centre. The Reconnect Project will work across all our functions, but there will be a particular focus on Stockwood Discovery Centre for community activities and volunteering.
