We are looking for a dynamic leader to take the reins of our email marketing and lead generation programmes, inspiring tens of thousands of people to support the Red Cross. Reporting to the Head of Engagement & Loyalty, you’ll use your digital skills to develop how we engage and mobilise our supporters (financial and non-financial), driving compelling digital programmes that inspire both new and existing supporters.
You’ll join a team who are leading the way in how we engage with supporters and customers, finding reactive and worldly-relevant fundraising opportunities for us to attract support – ultimately helping us to achieve our mission and strategic goals.
Leading the way on our digital channels, you will also work on our large-scale emergency appeals that involve a full range of channels – DRTV, telemarketing, mailings, SMS and more – so we’re looking for someone with a full range of multi-channel experience who can specialise on the digital side.

You'll be:
- Meeting regularly with colleagues to ensure email marketing programme is planned, delivered and optimised based on results and supporter insight
- Reviewing results with the digital and telemarketing teams to optimise lead generation and conversion plans based on campaign performance
- Collaborate across the newly created Engagement & Loyalty funnel (including Emergency Appeals, Legacy Marketing, Events, E-commerce & Regular Giving) to drive optimisation – both in our email/lead generation programmes and ways of working
- Planning and leading workshops to strategically plan multi-channel, multi-proposition supporter journeys (digital and offline – including but not limited to email, mailings, telephone, paid social)
- Co-create the annual Engagement & Loyalty budget, closely monitor campaign forecasts, income and expenditure.
What will you need to be a successful Senior Engagement & Loyalty Manager?
- Understanding of the different marketing acquisition and retention channels and methodologies – primarily this role will lead on email marketing and lead generation via paid social adverts
- Specific knowledge and skills in email marketing and ESPs - ideally Salesforce
- Ability to plan campaigns and communications that engage, motivate and inspire mobilisation from a range of supporters/customers.
- Skilled at critically appraising creative and copy from concept to completion.
- Excellent and extensive understanding of the full range of paid, owned and earned channels, metrics used to measure response and how channels inter-relate on/offline.
- Extensive experience in cross-channel communications planning, and campaign planning, execution, and optimisation (including digital, mailings, telephone marketing).
- Experience in managing large scale print, telephone and email campaigns

Specifically designed to support the cognitive needs of people living with dementia, My Life TV can be used by individuals and their families at home as well as in care homes. As Head of Marketing, you will lead on the implementation of marketing strategies that contribute to Care Home-facing activity as well as broader strategic plans. With ambitious growth targets, marketing activity will be focused around increasing channel subscribers and building long-term relationships with care homes.
Main responsibilities within the role will include:
· Creating a well-defined and focused marketing plan to enable the effective delivery of organisational vision and strategy for growth
· Effectively implementing all marketing activities, with a particular focus on executing B2B campaigns to encourage growth in care home subscriptions to My Life TV
· Ensuring brand proposition and positioning for My Life TV is clear, consistent and effective

· Multi-disciplinary marketing experience across a range of disciplines e.g. digital marketing, comms & PR, direct marketing etc. You don't have to be an expert in all - but understand how they work together to deliver a strategy
· Experience building a marketing strategy, and implementing the necessary systems and processes to enable its effective delivery
· A strong track record of delivering effective multi-channel campaigns, working to fixed timelines and budgets
· Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to write compelling copy for a range of different audiences - the care market, partner organisations in the dementia field, and the wider public
· Strong team player - able to work effectively within a small multi-disciplinary team
· Excellent IT skills, ideally including previous experience using sales CRM software

About the role:
The role plays a key role in developing and delivering our media & communication strategy both internal and external, supporting the Head of Media & Communications. Overall purpose
This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.
You will contribute to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, ensuring that your work is anchored in our organisational and team strategic goals. You will also be closely involved in team planning, whether it’s inputting into our operational plan or sharing ideas for new campaigns.
There are opportunities to get hands-on developing and delivering communications and fundraising campaigns to educate and inspire individuals, businesses, and other audiences. The aim of these campaigns is to help remove barriers to employment for refugees and bring about systemic change via our partnerships. Please note, we do not currently run political campaigns.
You will be responsible for creating and delivering day-to-day communications across our owned channels (social media, email newsletters, and some website content). You will also help colleagues create content for earned and paid communications that they’re leading on (press and media, digital marketing, engagement with influencers)
A team player, you will build strong relationships across Breaking Barriers so that you can source and develop content that:
- increases our visibility and influence
- showcases our impact
- inspires members of the public to help refugees build new lives in the UK
- engages and stewards our key audiences, including corporate partners, employees who advocate for refugees, individual donors, volunteers, and people of a refugee background.
You will support the Senior Communications Manager to maintain our strong brand, ensuring that all our content complies with our brand guidelines and is of a high standard.
With a good eye for detail, you will play a key role in our data management, including overseeing data on the storytelling section of our CRM, monitoring communications enquiries, and setting up and running reports. You will become a Salesforce Superuser (full training and support will be provided for this).

The Role:
We have a newly created opportunity for a Head of Income Generation to join ELF as a senior leader within our charity. You will be responsible for setting and delivering our fundraising strategy and achieving income targets in line with our objectives. You will manage our income generation team and support the CEO and Board of Trustees to set and deliver strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting and delivering ELF’s income generation strategy in consultation with the CEO and the fundraising team.
- Line managing our fundraising team and providing management to the wider team when the CEO is absent.
- Recording fundraising activity and maintaining accurate reports to meet KPIs.
- Setting monthly income targets based upon activities, opportunities and key dates.
- Developing and managing a prospect pool for major gift cultivation, researching relevant donors and facilitating introduction.
- Creating compelling fundraising proposals and communicating effectively with donors.
- Ensuring excellent stewardship of donors, providing relevant reports and updates.
- Supporting fundraising efforts across various income streams, including trusts, grants, and corporates.
- Ensuring compliance with the Charity Commission and Fundraising Regulator guidelines.
- Promoting ELF’s mission, values, and acting as an ambassador with donors, patients and stakeholders.
- Attending board meetings to provide updates on income generation.
- Complying with ELF’s policies and undertaking additional responsibilities as requested by the CEO.
The Person:
The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working in a fundraising position and driving an income-generation strategy. You will have demonstrable success in securing gifts from a range of donors and in building excellent relationships, with colleagues, donors and beneficiaries. You’ll come with substantial experience in applying for grants from a range of sources and in securing legacy pledges.
The ideal candidate will have a proven knowledge of fundraising principles and of the Fundraising Regulator and Charity Commission guidelines. You’ll be experienced in using fundraising databases and data segmentation to identify and develop prospect lists. Exceptional attention to detail and a good working knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles are required.
As our Head of Income Generation, you will be highly motivated with the ability to find pragmatic solutions, seek improvements and adapt to changing situations. You’ll share ELF’s passion in supporting cancer patients and their families.
Experience working in a medical charity would be desirable, but we will consider candidates from a variety of charitable backgrounds. Team leadership experience would be beneficial. A fundraising qualification would be useful, although not essential.
This role can is offered on either a full-time or part-time basis. We can be flexible with how the hours sit across the week to fit in with your schedule, however we do ask that the role holder works during core hours and has some flexibility to occasionally attend events and fundraisers outside of working hours. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week based in the Marsh Barton office.
