Magistrate, our quarterly magazine, is our most popular member benefit. Over the past two years we have developed and refined it, and it is consistently rated very highly by members as a key source of advice, information and inspiration.
The role
We are looking for a new Editor and Content Manager to lead the production of the magazine, help specify and develop a new digital version to run alongside the printed magazine, and to support the wider communications team, especially with content creation and the website.
What you will be doing
You will work closely with members, staff and suppliers to commission, edit and polish articles for the magazine and ensure that every page is top-quality and that it goes out to members on time and on-budget. On any one day in this exciting and varied role, you could be interviewing members for stories and spotlights, writing engaging articles for the magazine or our website, creating new website pages or editing existing ones, or sourcing on-brand images and photos.
The print magazine is very popular, and we now want to develop a winning digital version alongside the printed version, so one of your responsibilities will be to work with colleagues to oversee its digitisation.
You will also be part of our small but dedicated communications team, which is responsible for delivering not only the magazine, but also the MA’s successful media relations, social media posts and engagement, and the majority of our website content.
It’s an exciting role and, because we have a small staff team, you’ll have ample opportunities to work with colleagues and develop your skills.
Role details
Position: Editor and Content Manager
Responsible to: Head of Marketing and Communications
Location: We’re currently working 100% remotely. We are looking for an office site in the south bank/ Vauxhall area of London, so ideally you would be able to work in that area at least one day per week.
Hours: 21 hours per week (part-time). You could work these hours in three full days or spread over four or five days.
Salary: £35,000 per year (pro-rata)
Annual leave: 25 days annual leave (not including bank holidays) – again pro rata’d.

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. The Yehudi Menuhin School operates a needs-blind admissions process, and we remain determined that no pupil should ever turn down a place at YMS due to a lack of funding. You will join the Development team at an exciting time for the School. Under new leadership and with pupil numbers at an all-time high, fundraising continues to play a crucial role in securing the future of musical education and helping to develop the next generation of classical musicians. Our strategy is focused on reaching out to new donors, as well as continuing to engage our loyal body of current supporters, including several engaged grant-making trusts and foundations.
You will build on an existing portfolio of organisations that donate between four and six-figures. Your ability to develop significant, multi-year relationships with new trusts and foundations will be critical to your success. The School has also previously secured a grant from the DCMS Culture Recovery Fund, managed by the Arts Council, opening the door to possible future funding from statutory sources, which would also fall under your responsibility. This is a key role in making The Yehudi Menuhin School’s strategic priorities a reality on the ground. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.
The pilot will train and equip local health care professionals, health promotion workers and local community workers with the knowledge and resources to promote breast awareness, breast screening and risk reduction messages in their own communities.
Supported by a public health development officer, train the trainer (1 based in England and 1 based in Scotland), who you’ll also line manage, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of the in-person programme, including marketing materials, resource packs and ongoing support for trainees. You’ll also identify opportunities, agree timescales and associated logistics for training delivery within the pilot areas.

This is a new role at the DEC and developed as a key part of the DEC’s 2024-2029 strategy. The Trusts & Foundations Manager will be responsible for providing excellent stewardship to our portfolio of trusts and foundations. Your role
We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. Peace Direct is an international charity that works with local peacebuilders and their allies to shift power and resources for sustainable peace. Local people are the experts in the conflicts that affect their communities, and only they understand what it takes to build peace that lasts. We make sure these local peacebuilders have the resources they need to make peace a reality, and that their work is resourced, acknowledged and supported by the international community.
The role
As Senior Programmes Officer you will closely with our peacebuilding partners to help deliver an ambitious new programme of work. 'Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System' will support local peacebuilders in Mali, Afghanistan, Sudan and eastern DRC to increase prospects for sustainable peace.
Through Local First, Peace Direct will work with policymakers and power holders, supporting them to understand the dysfunctions of the peacebuilding system, and find ways to better support locally-led peacebuilding.
This role is responsible for developing and managing partnerships within the four countries, with initial emphasis on Mali. You will work closely with our other SPOs who manage partnerships in the four countries, and create and manage opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. You will also support the development, coordination and delivery of Local First, working closely with the International Programmes Manager and Peace Direct’s Netherlands Office Representative.
We are looking for an experienced, passionate person who can:
- Coordinate and support partnerships with local peacebuilding actors based on mutual accountability and trust. This will require working proficiency in French as well as English.
- Support the management, coordination and delivery of a complex, multi-country programme across four conflict-affected countries
- Coordinate the development of new work in support of transforming the peacebuilding system in four focus countries
- Contribute to organisational learning and the roll-out of our learning loop

The charity, established almost thirty years ago to meet the gap in specialist mental health services, is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. Our approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, empowering survivors on their journey to recovery from the trauma. We support 900 women and children annually, with an income of £1.04m and 41 staff in 2023/24. Whilst this role requires proven experience of quantitative skills, we are open to candidates with limited or no experience in qualitative research. This is a varied role and there will be opportunities for fieldwork e.g. conducting interviews, facilitating and moderating focus groups, etc. We can provide training and support to help you develop the necessary qualitative skills.
