This is an exciting time to join the NHM’s Development team, as we are about to embark on a major capital campaign that is set to rejuvenate the Museum spaces and transform access to our collections. Alongside this we have secured investment from the UK Government to build a major new science and digitisation centre at the Thames Valley Science Park in collaboration with the University of Reading. The purpose-built centre will house much of the Museum's collection and will include laboratories, digitisation suites, collaborative research spaces, conservation labs and workspaces.

Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated fundraiser to join our successful team as we embark on a major capital campaign to raise £150m. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this role will be responsible for personally securing six and seven-figure gifts from High-Net-Worth Individuals.
The Senior Philanthropy Manger will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, the Senior Principal Gifts Manager and the rest of the Philanthropy team, feeding into the overall strategy of high-value partnerships. They will manage a portfolio of funder accounts which deliver long term, high-value strategic partnerships as well as building new relationships.
The Senior Philanthropy Manager will also manage 2 roles – Patrons Manager and a Philanthropy Manager (HNWI and Legacies), with oversight of both the Patrons Programme and Legacy programme.
The Philanthropy team is growing and there will be substantial opportunity for professional development within a world-leading cultural organisation.
Main tasks and responsibilities
· Manage a portfolio of prospects, in the UK and abroad, capable of making six and seven-figure gifts.
· Raise income in line with agreed personal and team fundraising targets.
· Working closely with the whole Philanthropy team to coordinate on the overall strategy and targets for maximising philanthropic giving to the NHM.
· Manage a team of 3, which includes line management of a Patrons Manager and Philanthropy Manager (HNWI/Legacies), whilst motivating them to meet key objectives and targets within the overall Philanthropy team.
· Work alongside the Philanthropy team, Special Events team and Corporate team in the preparation of written donor proposals, donor stewardship and the planning and execution of events related to the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
· Work independently to plan and implement creative strategies to increase philanthropic gifts at the six and seven-figure level by creating bespoke cultivation and solicitation plans that utilise senior stakeholders effectively.
· Actively solicit funding personally, as well as plan solicitations for senior staff as appropriate.
· Build strong relationships and partner with key staff across NHM in line with our strategic ambitions.
· Prepare written briefings for senior management and with donors and prospective donors as well as follow up documentation and correspondence.
· Ensure full and timely records of all activity are kept on the database in adherence to set policies and procedures.
· Promote best practice in fundraising across the NHM.
Person Specification
Essential
· Significant fundraising or income generating experience and a proven track record of securing income at the six-figure+ level.
· Demonstrated success in managing a high value and diverse portfolio of major donors that include complex relationships (e.g. interests and relationships across a large organisation).
· Experience of working within a results-oriented environment, with a record of achieving personal KPIs and targets.
· Exceptional written communication skills with an ability to convey detailed or scientific information in a concise and engaging manner.
· Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills and with proven experience of managing or liaising with either clients, customers or charity donors.
· Proven experience of cross-team working and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
· Good understanding of the process of fundraising.
· Excellent administration and organisation skills, demonstrating the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure.
· Ability to work well as a member of a team as well as on own initiative.
· Ability to attend early morning and evening events as required, acting as an ambassador for the Natural History Museum.
Desirable
· A demonstrable track-record in securing and managing funding from high-net-worth individuals.
· Management experience.
· Experience of working with a fundraising / CRM system.
· Experience carrying out research to a brief (preferably fundraising research, including external research, such as giving history and funding priorities, and internal research, such as gathering figures, statistics and information).

Our Spokesperson Network constitutes a network of media savvy spokespeople, who have direct experience of social injustices. Developed collaboratively with a network of leaders with lived experience, it aims to diversify the voices we hear in the media and make it more representative of the society we live in. Through training, media mentoring, peer support and speaking opportunities, we tackle the barriers that prevent these experts from engaging with journalists who have the power to influence coverage and ultimately drive change.
Members of our network have spoken on all the major news outlets from BBC Newsnight, BBC Radio Four, ITV News, to the Times, the Guardian, places where they can reach audiences of millions and have influenced documentaries and a storyline for a high profile drama. They’ve become part of policy and advisory conversations: APPGs (All Party Parliamentary Groups), Governmental select committees, speaking at Party Conferences and joining advisory panels.
Our work additionally seeks to support the wider charity sector to develop and amplify lived experience stories and expertise themselves. This role will enable us to increase the visibility and impact of our programme participants and their communities by engaging with journalists, media professionals, and other influential platforms. You will work closely with our community to activate and strengthen our network, driving collective action and amplifying the important issues they are addressing. Building trusted relationships with lived experience leaders is key, and you will ensure that all engagement is grounded in ethical, trauma-aware, and holistic support.
Sharing knowledge with other charities supporting Spokesperson Networks
You will help share what we learn through our work with other charities and learn from them too. Using peer-led sessions to share best practice, challenges and ideas for charities working to amplify the voices of people with direct experience of social injustice.

About the role
We are seeking a Participant Engagement Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, the chosen candidate will work with our member companies to maximise the impact of our programmes, driving sustainable business operations and enhancing the value they receive from their UN Global Compact participation.
The position will manage and keep track of the priorities, needs and challenges of our participating companies and ensure our offerings remain relevant and impactful for them by collaborating with our programme teams.
This role will exist alongside another individual working collectively to fulfil the responsibilities outlined below. The workload will be shared, ensuring a balanced distribution of tasks.
The Participant Engagement Manager will report to the Head of Operations and Participant Engagement. We offer a flexible hybrid working environment, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities - after onboarding, we will expect you to:

Take the lead in planning and delivering our monthly members’ breakfasts, initially with support from your line manager.

Coordinate engagement around high-level events organised by the global team including the Leaders Summit, Private Sector Forum, and COPs.

Track priorities, needs, and challenges of participants and collaborate with the team to ensure our offerings remain relevant.

Role Purpose
GDI Hub are looking for a Research Assistant to support the team across its portfolio of projects with a diversity of clients, partners and stakeholders.
The Research Assistant role sits within GDI Hub’s Community Interest Company’s Research and Delivery Team, led by Mikaela Patrick, Head of Research and Delivery.

GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team have a range of thematic expertise, including inclusive design, accessibility, inclusive infrastructure, inclusive climate resilience and responses, disability and gender, financial inclusion and inclusive private sector practice.
The majority of GDI Hub Research and Delivery Team’s work has a focus in Low or Middle-Income Countries (LMIC).
GDI Hub’s Research and Delivery Team and work is growing fast, and this role has been created to strengthen the team and its delivery across its portfolio of work.
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience working or academic study in relevant fields (including working closely and collaboratively with disabled people and disabled people’s organisations is desirable), such as international disability inclusion, assistive and accessible technology, accessibility and inclusive design, disability innovation and global health; with willingness to grow expertise across these areas.
- Ideally have some experience (approx. 2-5 years) working on research projects and/or practice-focused research in a related field. This could be as part of further study, research or in a work capacity. Real work experience is desirable.
- A post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience, focused on an area relevant to disability inclusion, accessibility and / or assistive technology.
- Experience and confidence to independently conduct qualitative research and analysis, and literature reviews.
- Experienced in quantitative research and analysis with proficiency in designing and running quantitative data collection via surveys and analysing results to inform statistically representative and robust results. Confidence to independently conduct descriptive and correlational analysis using for e.g., ExCel, Python, R or SPSS.
- Independence in producing clear and insightful infographics and data visualisations.
- Excellent written communication skills, with ability to take on writing of reports using clear and compelling narrative; experience authoring lucid and informative insights and reporting.

As a Support Advisor working full time or part time, you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the RISE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.
You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working part time or full time alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Gloucester, providing support to Bristol and North Wilts as required, the project aims to:
- Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
- Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
- Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
- Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
- Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.
The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

About the Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our Bedford Mental Health Prevention service for adults which aims to improve people’s mental wellbeing, raise aspirations and enhance confidence.
As Service Coordinator you will be responsible for implementing working recovery models and coordinating the operational plans for the service to ensure that people are able to manage their mental health, move through their recovery journeys and achieve positive outcomes.
Along with coordinating service delivery to meet its aims, objectives and Key Performance Indicators, you will also line manage the service Recovery Workers and lead on recruitment, onboarding and management of volunteers in the service.

Responsibilities
Raising the profile of the Foundation by implementing an imaginative and inspiring programme in Marketing and Communications under the direction of the Head of Business Development.
Work with Head of Grants and Programmes to plan and timetable promotion of new grants programmes and regular promotion of ongoing programmes. Working at times with external marketing and comms teams to agree key messaging.
Compile and share a range of inspiring donor, charity and community stories and case studies which bring to life the Foundation’s impact.
Support, maintain and update the Foundation’s website, ensuring that it is inspiring, engaging and up to date with content. Help set up and access additional platforms as required e.g. online donations, raffles, other Trusts who are contracted to the Foundation.
Develop the Foundation’s wider digital presence through social media and use of content marketing to raise awareness of the Foundation’s expertise, share good news stories and promote available funding e.g. through regular charity and business newsletters.
Under the guidance and leadership of the Head of BD and CEO provide specific public relations support, including preparing press releases and producing articles for local magazines and relevant publications.
Maintain a library of relevant and up to date marketing materials, photographs illustrating the Foundation’s work and partnership logos and guidance for use. Manage permissions and GDPR for all communications work and marketing collateral.
Attend UK Community Foundations (UKCF) Marcomms meetings.
Work with the CEO to prepare and manage quarterly Board meetings for Foundation and as required other partners (incl JCT) at an executive admin level.
Preparing for meetings: prep of papers, managing dates and availability; minute taking and general administration for Board level members under clear and strict requirements around confidentiality.
Regular updating of requirements of Board incl: EDI data and references; annual Conflict of Interest; DBS and other requirements.
Supporting Chair of Trustee in their role as required and in an administrative support.
Support general office administration such as maintenance of equipment inventories and training records and PAT testing schedules and others task to ensure smooth running of the main office.
Organize events to showcase the Foundation’s work, including functions for donors, potential donors, community and voluntary groups.
Support the Head of Business development to identified campaigns and additional programmes to grow the Foundations reach. Work with Head of BD to write creative briefs and to shape to recruit additional capacity as required.
Work as an effective Ambassador for the Foundation always, including at events and external networking.
Represent the Foundation on agreed marketing and Comms networks incl UKCF and others to be agreed.
Work closely with other members of the team to ensure that the Foundation achieves excellence in grant-making and all its operational aspects.
Represent the Foundation externally as required.
Use computer equipment and software for administrative and communication duties including Canva, new website CMS, Microsoft Office, online communications, and the Salesforce Database.
Carry out other associated duties, which may arise, develop, or be assigned, in line with the scale and general nature of the post.

Scope of the Job
The Finance Officer at Alfanar will play a crucial role in delivering an effective and efficient finance function across the organization's group structure. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Officer will be supporting various financial tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash and reserves management, accounting processes, and financial risk mitigation. The role requires a focus on continuous improvement, problem-solving, and development to ensure high-performance standards and exceptional finance services for Alfanar's teams.
Reports to: Head of Finance
Main Responsibilities
· Manage all receivables and payables following agreed processes and ensure timely payment.
· Prepare monthly payroll and set up salary payments
· Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
· Producing Monthly Management Accounts with the help of the finance system and Excel templates.
· Review donor reports prepared by the country office for accuracy and cost allocation
· Claim gift aid on a regular basis
· Support organisation budget and proposal budget process.
· Support organisational audit process.
· Any other duties as agreed by the Head of Finance.
Financial accounting
· Be an integral part of ensuring effective and efficient financial control environment across Alfanar’s group structure
· Operate key financial controls including balance sheet schedules, intercompany and income reconciliations
· Support the continuing develop of effective financial management procedures, increasing automation and efficiency
· Ensure accurate and complete records for restricted funds
· Active involvement in payroll to ensure an accurate and up to date payroll
· Manage the payments process using Xero financial software ,review and set up payments at the bank
· Support Head of Finance in developing and implementing Finance processes across the Alfanar group.
· Ensure Alfanar is up to date and compliant with its statutory duties relating to Payroll, Pensions, VAT , Corporation Tax and other statutory submissions.
Reporting
● Support Head of Finance with the preparation of annual accounts in line with financial reporting standards, including consolidation of future group entities, ready for Audit.
● Support Head of Finance during organisation’s external audit
● Liaise with external accountants, including on all filing requirements
● Prepare financial information for the trustees annual report and liaise with the communications function on presentation
Financial management reporting and finance business partnering
● Support budgeting and reforecasting process led by Head of Finance. Ensure relevant team members receive guidance notes and documentation in relation to the budget and forecast processes and templates
● Manage the month end close procedure, including preparing journals to record the required accruals and fund transfers
● Prepare, review and analyse management accounts, seek variance explanations, prepare commentary and summaries based on budget holder responses, and ensure management understand any required actions.
● Continue to develop monthly management reports and budget Vs actual reports for budget holders.
● Work with the fundraising team to ensure that income data flows are documented, and finance and fundraising metrics are clearly defined and accurately calculated and reported
Tax, cash, risk and reserves management and group operations
● Working with the Head of Finance, manage, review and improve Alfanar’s (online) banking arrangements and relationships, across the group structure
● Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and requirements and ensure appropriate cash management and transfers across the group structure.
● Should it be required, support with Alfanar’s registration for VAT, set up and operate the required changes to the accounting systems, and prepare and file VAT returns, including other entities within the VAT group
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
● Experience of supporting in accounting, payments, transaction processing, financial reporting, tax, and cash management with international operations ideally in a growing group.
● Experience of automating financial processes and developing reporting functionality from accounting systems
● Knowledge and experience of using Xero or other cloud-based accounting software.
● Experience of providing financial management support/business partnering to managers/budget holders, who may not have a financial background.
● Qualified affiliate accountant or working towards a qualification (UK ACA, CIMA, ACCA ,AAT or equivalent)
● Knowledge of data protection legislation, risk management and other governance regulations including confidentiality.
Desired
● Bachelor or Master's degree in accounting or finance.
● Experience in Finance Function in a not-for-profit setting, whether gained in a paid or voluntary capacity
Experience of working with high volume payment processing supplier systems and integrating the associated data flows into internal databases
