The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.
The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie. This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.
The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie. With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.
The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. They will also have experience in developing both annual operational and three-year strategic plans, developing creative and innovative solutions and digital marketing and in working with working with volunteers and engaging local communities. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

About the Role
We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.
The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.
The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

- Provide guidance to support clients to stay in existing work, including advice on mental health disclosure, negotiating reasonable adjustments to existing workplaces, creating wellness action plans and improving productivity, support to return to work after sickness absence or to leave an existing role with dignity, and signpost clients to organisations that can represent them (EAs should only look to represent clients in exceptional circumstances).
- Facilitate access to other advice in areas such as financial benefits, debt management, food banks and community food outlets and social housing providers, as necessary.
The role holder must also:
- NVQ Level 3 minimum or equivalent in either employment support/advice, mental health or other relevant area, or equivalent experience gained through work experience in the field.
- Understanding and experience of the support needs of people with common mental health conditions in finding, retaining, returning to, or leaving mainstream employment.
- Knowledge and experience of working in a health or social care setting.
- Evidence of basic counselling skills.
- Ability to assess individual client strengths and needs in relation to employment and think creatively to provide bespoke client action planning and solutions.

Philanthropy Manager

The Role
As Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for researching, establishing and developing a major gifts strategy and programme for the charity, in liaison with the Head of Fundraising. The role also encompasses building relationships with an existing portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, whilst researching and engaging new funders in order to secure sustainable income.
The Candidate
We're looking for someone with excellent communication and relationship building skills who can effectively cultivate and build relationships with prospects and donors, proving an outstanding supporter experience. You'll demonstrate your ability to develop relationships with high-net-worth individuals or high value partnerships, preferably in a charity or similar target-driven environment. You will have experience of working across an organisation to establish and/or grow a major gifts function, successfully soliciting major gifts for capital and revenue campaigns. You have proficient digital and research skills and a proven ability to analyse and evaluate data.
You will work remotely with regular attendance at DAA Head Office in Exeter. This role will involve a reasonable amount of travel around the county therefore a full driving license is essential (subject to a maximum of 3 penalty points) and access to a vehicle.

The Role Within Unseen
Unseen provides support to people who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human trafficking and actively champions capturing voices in our work and providing development opportunities for those we are working with. This is a great role for someone wanting to develop their administrative experience and exposure to board and executive level working. You will have responsibility for supporting a Trustee level grant making committee. You’ll get exposure to the strategic overview of the Charity and insight into managing teams, grant-making and charity operations. Maudsley Charity works primarily with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, as well as a range of voluntary and community organisations to fund ideas, big and small, that drive service improvement and support people who experience mental illness.
The Charity operates primarily within the four boroughs served by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark), but the work we fund has the potential for wider impact at both national and international levels, through the sharing of the outcomes with the wider mental health community. Mini Malvern Nursery is expanding, and The Downs Malvern are looking to recruit multiple Nursery Practitioners to be part of our incredible team.
Mini Malvern Nursery is for children aged 6 months and up. The nursery comprises of three bright, modern classrooms and two outdoor gardens with adventure play areas, in addition to accessing The Downs Malvern’s beautiful 55-acre site, including a Forest School and a smallholding with pigs, quail, chickens, and sheep.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our youngest children and will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the Nursery provision remains at a consistently high standard. You will have a deep knowledge of Early Years Education and a willingness to nurture and support children in their early development.
This role can be worked on a flexible basis either part time or full time which can be discussed at interview. A full time basis is 40 hours per week.

The pandemic pet boom, poor breeding practices and the rising cost of living mean that rescue centres, like Bath Cats and Dogs Home, are contending with unprecedented numbers of animals with complex medical and behavioural problems.

The Education and Outreach Manager will work directly with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team to manage existing projects and to shape and develop new initiatives. You’ll work in partnership with education providers, community groups and charities to ensure that Bath Cats and Dogs Home’s expertise and resources are directed to those most in need, and where we’ll have the biggest impact for animal welfare.

About the role
Working across the Crisis Brent teams you will lead on the delivery of our volunteer programme and member involvement opportunities. You will be responsible for the recruitment of new volunteers, the support of existing volunteers and volunteer supervisors to maintain a positive volunteer experience. You will work across teams to ensure volunteer’s experience of volunteering is positive and play a key role in volunteer retention. You will be collaborative and dynamic in working with the team to identify and develop new volunteering opportunities.
