Job purpose
We are looking for an experienced digital communications professional to play a key role in improving our digital communications. Reporting to the head of communications, marketing and digital, the role will oversee the development of a new RCVS Knowledge website, developing our use of user data and insights and managing the development of engaging content.
As project manager for the RCVS Knowledge website development from discovery to launch, you will be working closely with your colleagues in our small and friendly communications team, as well as with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to help us realise our vision of a well-designed, user-friendly website which meets the needs of all our audiences.
You will ensure that we have a shared understanding of our requirements across the RCVS Knowledge team and with the supplier, and that these requirements are informed by audience data and insights. In addition, you will also take the lead on auditing our current site content and developing a strategy for developing relevant, high-quality content in time for launch and beyond.
You will have recent, relevant experience of leading website developments of significant size and complexity, with a passion for user-centred design and creating high-quality content.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact between RCVS Knowledge and the digital agency, and internally with the website project stakeholders.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure user needs are understood, manage the development of the project plan, establish regular meetings to share progress and seek input and deliver to agreed timescales.
- Develop website goals and KPIs which support the RCVS Knowledge communications, marketing and digital strategy.
- Manage documentation for project governance as needed, including issues and risk logs.
- Lead on our content audit and strategy for the new website, considering user needs and supporting our organisational objectives.
- Create and edit a range of content for the new website which supports user experience and meets current best practice for SEO and accessibility.
- Oversee the content migration to our new website.
- Ensure all internal users receive training on the new CMS appropriate to their level of access.
- Ensure all activity is undertaken observing the requirements of data protection legislation (GDPR).
- Contribute to the development of a new communications, marketing and digital strategy.
- Using tools such as Google Analytics, ensure we are reporting against our agreed objectives and make recommendations based on the data and insights available.

As Head of Marketing, you will lead on the implementation of marketing strategies that contribute to Care Home-facing activity as well as broader strategic plans. Main responsibilities within the role will include:

· A strong track record of delivering effective multi-channel campaigns, working to fixed timelines and budgets

The Head of Programmes is a critical role for the organisation, responsible for ensuring DEC funded programmes meet programmatic standards, are fully traceable, routinely monitored and comply with organisational procedures and institutional donors’ requirements. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.
As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. They will be a visible leader within the Income and Engagement Directorate and across the organisation, and will contribute to a culture of creativity, growth, innovation and entrepreneurialism that will drive us to achieve our 2030 goals.

Role Purpose
The Head of Research and Delivery will lead the delivery of programmes, client-facing projects and research initiatives for GDI Hub CIC, working across the key themes of Disability Inclusion, Inclusive Design and Cities, Climate Change, Gender, Financial Inclusion and Assistive Technology. It is expected that the role holder will have considerable experience across at least two of these themes and an appetite for both broadening and deepening their knowledge across the others. They will also collaborate with research leads and teams based across GDI Hub including the Academic Research Centre (ARC) at UCL.
This is a senior, strategic, role responsible for team management and leading key projects, leading client, donor and government relationships, and providing strategic subject matter expertise. It would suit someone with a proven-track record in the sector and requires a strong aptitude for strategic thinking, delivery management and the creation of tenable and evidence-based recommendations. They will be creative and collaborative with a drive to make the world a fairer place, inspiring others to do the same.
They will be responsible for delivery on projects and research under their remit and contribute to the development of new projects and research, working closely with partners and clients. Current funders, partners and clients include the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Asian Development Bank, Climate Investment Funds, UNICEF, Carbon Trust and Expo City Dubai. This will involve leading a permanent team of six, which is expected to grow to eight by Q4 2024-25, and any external consultants brought online as required to deliver across a portfolio of work.
Role Responsibilities
Project and Research Delivery and Management
- Lead a growing portfolio of projects under the Research and Delivery team including a current portfolio of circa 10 active projects.
- Leadership of Global Thematic Goods sub-programme under the AT2030 programme, with direct project leadership of 2 workstreams (inclusive infrastructure and inclusive climate resilience).
- Lead the intellectual and strategic management of project delivery, ensuring that projects deliver clear messages aligned to programme targets, client needs and project scope and deliver impact.
- Take overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of project delivery and deliverables, ensuring project management processes and procedures are being implemented correctly and outputs are to the highest standard in line with GDI Hub style.
- Provide overall research leadership in GDI HUB CIC, instilling academic rigour and driving innovative and inclusive research, managing researchers to deliver high quality outputs that are evidence-based, meeting internal/external expectations and tailored to target audiences.
- Plan and manage workplans, including emergent risks, challenges, change requests, budgets, travel, schedules, and scope.
Client Management and Reporting
- Manage and develop relationships with partners and stakeholders, to support effective collaboration.

Internal Team Management

- Ensure team resources are used in accordance with project budgets and actively tracked throughout delivery. Review resource capacity and factor into any new project bids or repeat business opportunities.
- Direct line management of Senior Inclusive Design Manager, Senior Financial Inclusion Researcher, Senior Social Researcher and Inclusive Climate Researcher. Support the team in their own line management responsibilities in line with planned activity.

About the role:
We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our Technical Knowledge team oversees Blue Ventures’ technical pillars (Secure Rights, Community-Based Fisheries Management, Food Security and Financial Inclusion) and supports the use of data for decision making, providing tools, training, and guidance to partners and Blue Ventures’ staff around the world. This team integrates expertise and deep practical experience with pragmatism and a desire to enable others to deliver lasting change, by distilling global best practices and knowledge into usable tools, appropriate training, and responsive guidance and support. The team is also responsible for delivering peer learning exchanges and knowledge sharing events both online and face to face across the organisation in addition to overseeing technical publications.
We are currently recruiting for an exceptional individual to be part of this global team, leading a critical pillar of the strategy on Food Security. This individual will oversee the Food Security function, including the development, refinement, and roll out of tools and training to support partners around the world as they establish initiatives targeting fish production, availability and affordability, to promote nutrition, food security and financial returns of fishers through assessments of the nutritional value of key fisheries, sustainable fisheries management, waste reduction initiatives, and interventions that increase the economic and nutritional value, as well as durability, of fish catch. As such our technical team plays a key role in identifying, collating, sharing, and transferring key insights and successful approaches, updating information, training, tools, and guidance around the world, and building a community of practice around each of the pillar themes.

The Global Head - Food Security will have a strong understanding and technical experience of food security and nutrition programmes in coastal fishing communities and initiatives to reduce losses in catch value (both nutritional and financial), with proven skills in coaching and team building skills and effective management capacity in leading a multi-disciplinary team and working cross-functionally.
Blue Ventures recognises the key roles that women play in fisheries management and conservation as fishers, gleaners, processors, sellers and negotiators and seeks to highlight the important value of their roles in the fisheries value chain, that are often invisible, so that they also benefit. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complex challenges facing tropical coastal fisheries and the small-scale fishing communities that depend on them.
