Key information:

Job Purpose  

To develop and manage your own portfolio of existing trusts, community and individual donors, and research and prioritise new opportunities ensuring high quality stewardship to secure ongoing support. This role will focus on producing high-quality applications and reports to funders and by providing excellent account management and cross-team collaboration.     

Responsibilities  

Trust Fundraising  

• Develop, manage, and maintain a trust fundraising portfolio with a clear, scheduled pipeline of funding applications, coordinating opportunities and team resources to meet targets. 

• Cultivate strong working relationships with current and new trust and foundations, proactively seeking meetings. 

• Collaborate with colleagues to create compelling proposals and reports. 

• Work with monitoring and finance colleagues to inform impact and budgetary needs, ensuring timely reporting to donors in line with their grant conditions. 

• Build resilient, long-term relationships with identified supporters, keeping them well-informed about events, campaigns, projects, and the charity itself, to foster a strong sense of belonging to Village Water. 

• Use multiple research methods and communication channels to build and manage a prospective donor pipeline. 

• Research and write applications to grant-making trusts, targeting an amount in line with Village Water's annual budget, with an emphasis on securing unrestricted funds where possible. 

• Maintain legacy communications and promote legacy options to our long-standing supporters. 

• Ensure all information on your portfolio of donors is well stewarded, recorded, and actioned in Village Water's database. 

• Develop ad-hoc events and campaigns both in person and via Zoom, recruiting and managing volunteers where necessary. 

• Send personalised thank-you communications and updates to individual supporters, manage ongoing engagement with regular donors, and oversee the distribution of physical milestone cards to celebrate significant achievements. 

• Support fundraising team with social media content ideas that highlight our activities and showcases the impact. 

General   

• Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, external suppliers, and local partners to advance organisational goals. 

• Attend networking events and build relationships that benefit Village Water. 

• Participate in and report during weekly team meetings and, when necessary, at Trustee meetings. 

• Provide assistance for other fundraising initiatives as needed, promoting a collaborative work environment and supporting the overall fundraising efforts of the organisation.

Skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable success in securing grants, including awards between £20-£100k. 

• Confident and effective communicator with excellent presentation skills, able to engage with a range of supporters in groups, individually, face-to-face, and remotely. 

• Proven experience in writing compelling cases for support and supporter updates that inspire and persuade donors. 

• Ability to develop, analyse, and interpret budgets and financial information. 

• Strong database skills, including experience in fundraising performance analysis.

In this role you’ll engage small to medium sized trusts and major donors, connecting them to the difference they can make to thousands of men and their families facing prostate cancer.

Together with the Senior Philanthropy Executive, and Philanthropy Managers, you will liaise with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that you put together high-quality funding proposals, that will inspire supporters to make four and five figure gifts, which will significantly improve the lives of men facing prostate cancer.

As IG Supporter Recruitment Manager you will manage the programme, leading the development and implementation of the strategy to maximise the value of our donor recruitment activity.   

Key Skills and Attributes: 

This role requires a confident fundraiser with a solid grasp of all supporter recruitment channels and an understanding of retention and development channels.

Experience of driving effective direct marketing activity is essential, as is knowledge of fundraising compliance and best practise in line with evolving regulations.

The programme covers a diverse range of activities and techniques to recruit regular givers, cash donors and product donors, with a strong focus on digital platforms. This includes recruitment activity such as Meta paid social, Performance Max, paid search, and converting supporters to donors through post action asks and emails, as well as a testing programme for new activity. Our supporter experience programme includes cash appeals, upgrade, reactivation, a biannual supporter magazine, cash to regular giving conversion activity, e-appeals and retention activity. 

The Individual Giving programme has evolved hugely over the past few years, with a big increase in our digital activity and collaboration with campaign teams to create compelling and integrated plans.

Each Individual Giving Officer manages a selection of projects across recruitment or experience, rotating project management to support development and learning across the team.

Purpose

The HR Administrator role is an excellent opportunity for someone with HR or admin experience, who is interested in starting/progressing an HR career and looking to gain experience in a friendly but busy small HR team. The role provides a day-to-day HR admin service to employees and HR admin support to the part time HR team (two HR Business Partners and the Head of People & Development). You will be driven to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues and donors.

We do require someone who is proactive, hardworking and results-orientated.

The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to  drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie.  This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.

The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie.  With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.

The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.

The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.

You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
• Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.

About the Role: Principal Consultant

Join our dynamic Board and Leadership Practice as a Principal Consultant. You'll play a key role in growing our executive search function and contributing to our primary focus-delivering exceptional Executive Search services for Chief Executives and Trustees/Non-Executive Board appointments within the Charity sector.

Our aim is to establish ourselves as the leading talent and leadership partner for organisations, providing invaluable support and playing a pivotal role in their success and impact. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the leadership landscape of the non-profit sector, and your contributions will be integral to our mission of making a positive difference in the sector.

Responsibilities:

Business Development

• Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for CEO and Board recruitment

• Respond to RFIs and RFPs and lead on pitches

• Maintain a network of high-calibre contacts to raise the profile and reputation of the Board and Leadership Practice and Charity People

Project Delivery

• Advising clients and potential clients on current sector trends and on running open and inclusive recruitment campaigns

• Challenging and developing the role brief

• Design and execute talent acquisition strategies and brief our in-house researcher and delivery consultant accordingly

• Assessing candidates comprehensively and rigorously.

• Playing the lead role in longlisting/shortlisting meetings

• Advising and managing salary negotiations, packages, start dates, etc

• Collate market-related data such as salary surveys, industry trends, etc.

About You:

We seek motivated individuals with ambition, and a commitment to excellent delivery. You should be solutions-focused, self-accountable, and comfortable working unaided and as part of a team.

Essential criteria include:

• Prior experience in an exec search or recruitment firm, ideally in the Not for Profit/ Third Sector

• Excellent written and rapport-building communication skills.

• Managing multiple assignments at a time and delivering to tight deadlines whilst still upholding the highest quality standards

• Genuine passion and commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

• High levels of integrity

• Strong reasoning skills to gather information from different sources and identify top-tier professionals.

• Passion for delivering excellence to clients and candidates.

• Previous experience in successfully growing new business and delivering against fee income targets.

Our head office is near London Bridge, though all staff work flexibly. Candidates are likely to need to come into the office 1 day per week for this role.
