Overview:
Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Ensure smooth delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of group activities. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
- Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
- Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
- Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
- Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.
- Community Development: Experience of developing and delivering community services with a range of stakeholders, including health and social care workers, commissioners, local authority and community and voluntary partners.
- Data-Driven Approach: Experience with data collection and CRM systems and a commitment to data-driven service evaluation.
- Community Sensitivity: Experience collaborating with people with a lived experience of cancer or other long-term conditions. Ability to understand and empathise with community needs.
- Administrative: Strong administration and IT skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: A good understanding of safeguarding practices, particularly concerning vulnerable populations.
Educational Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification or experience in Community Development, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field is preferred.

As the Peer to Peer Groupwork Facilitator you will set up, lead and deliver a year-long peer to peer group programme for bereaved families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.
The groupwork is based on a programme led by Harvard University and Boston’s Children’s hospital and has structured sessions drawing upon psychological model of CBT, although the sessions are not therapeutic. Each session has a theme and incorporates education, guidance and support.
You will establish and deliver a new peer online support group, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery and creating a safe and welcoming space for bereaved families.
Outside the group sessions you will be responsible for managing the administration and evaluation of the service, including and collection of questionnaires and feedback required for reporting purposes and supporting members with any signposting requirements processing referrals, carrying out eligibility screening, monitoring the waiting list and inputting and keeping all database member and service records up to date.

What skills will I need?

This role will play a key role in delivering our ambitious policy influencing programme, helping to develop and advocate for the policy changes needed to reduce, prevent and eventually end the need for food banks in the UK. It will focus on developing Trussell policy positions in either employment support (especially for people with barriers to work) or disability and sickness benefits. The role will also lead the development and implementation of influencing plans in that policy area.
Role responsibilities
·Lead the development of policy solutions and positions
Leading the development of credible policy positions and implementable recommendations in the specified policy area - either in relation to employment support and conditionality, particularly for groups facing significant barriers to work including disabled people and single parents; or in relation to the disability benefit system, particularly Personal Independence Payments and the Work Capability Assessment.
Working with the Policy and Public Affairs, Network Operations and Participation teams to ensure our policy influencing has a robust evidence base.
Where appropriate, developing policy in collaboration with food banks in Trussell’s network and lived experience partners. Building on success of existing participatory work to ensure it is rooted in the lived experience of individuals affected by poverty. This includes ensuring an ethical approach to policy development in line with our values.
Working effectively with other expert partners to strengthen policy development and build alliances to support influencing, including project management and oversight of joint policy development and positions.

Leading the development of an influencing strategy for the policy area aligned to a theory of change. Ensuring policy outputs are timely, high-quality and support engagement with key audiences, including national and local governments across the UK. Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that exists to make sure no child or young person is too hungry to learn. We provide nutritious breakfasts and expert support to primary, secondary, ASN/SEND schools and pupil referral units in disadvantaged areas of England and Scotland. JOB PURPOSE
Magic Breakfast’s mission is to end child morning hunger in the UK now and for good the Philanthropy team’s role is to develop and deliver the charity's high net worth individual giving programme in line with Magic Breakfast’s strategic priorities to enable our organisational growth against our mission.
We are seeking to grow income through further cultivation and stewardship of our potential and existing donors. Our High Value Giving teams are forecast to collectively raise £5.1m in 2021/22, up from £4.6m two years ago in 2019/20. The team includes partnerships with charitable trusts and foundations, corporate organisations, and high-net-worth individuals.
Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy, this role will have a particular focus on ensuring that Magic Breakfast is offering the highest quality of donor care from start to finish, and building and developing our prospect pipeline.
We’re looking for a proactive person with excellent relationship building, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship skills as we seek to build our prospect pool, enhance or supporter journey and achieve our ambitious fundraising targets.
The Philanthropy Manager will have the opportunity to be innovative and creative, to create and test impactful donor journeys and engagement opportunities so Magic Breakfast’s supporters feel valued and can understand the transformational difference they are making to hungry children and their learning in the UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income generation and donor stewardship and prospect development

Manage your own portfolio of donors, providing excellent stewardship and strategies to uplift and secure multi year donations

Work with Corporate, Trusts and Individual Giving teams to identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Magic Breakfast’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships;

Write accurate, inspiring and compelling fundraising propositions and reports for potential and existing major donors

The main duties of the role
To deliver the IntoUniversity programme effectively to children and young people in different settings, including schools-based workshops, Academic Support sessions and educational visits. This includes positive behaviour management and adherence to the IntoUniversity safeguarding policy.
- To assist with the organisation and delivery of the Academic Support, FOCUS and Mentoring Programmes.

Working alongside a dedicated team to drive forward our mission and make a real impact in the Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM) community, you will be involved with a great charity team in a position where they will be able to help establish a new service that will greatly help many people across England.
Our mission is to be the catalyst that positively transforms patient outcomes in Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM) through patient support, patient and professional education, global awareness, and worldwide research. As our Helpline Service Manager, you will lead play a crucial role in leading this mission forward.
We are looking for a Helpline Service Manager to play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the project plan that will enable us to set up and establish the helpline, and to have the foundations in place to enable the day to day running of this helpline.
What you will do:

Manage the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a new pilot helpline in line with strategic and operational objectives.

Work to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers.

Work within a quality assurance framework.

Play an active part in taking forward the helpline project strategy, vision, and values What you will bring:
- Significant experience in leading and developing large-scale, high-quality services, including ideally experience in helpline service management.
- Proven success in coordinating projects, managing every stage from initial development to final evaluation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a talent for engaging and connecting with varied audiences.
- Advanced IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office, combined with excellent organizational, people management, and customer service skills, ensuring effective task prioritization and timely completion.
