We are seeking a highly skilled and resourceful Communications Manager to cover a 9-month maternity leave period. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications, design, and social media management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining brand integrity.

Responsibilities:

· Creating and implementing communication strategies that align with STOP THE TRAFFIK’s goals and objectives. This includes monitoring and analysing live trends (i.e., on social media) to adapt and refine existing strategies.

· Write and edit compelling content for newsletters, blog posts, social media, and other channels in both long-form and short-form.

· Support our Fundraising & Development Team to produce effective individual giving campaigns through powerful visual assets and a strong, impactful narrative.

· Ensure team output upholds brand consistency and integrity across all platforms.

· Develop engaging content, including videos, posts, and case studies, that highlights real-life case studies from our team’s programmes to effectively showcase the impact of our work.

· Manage key partnerships with PR, brand, and marketing agencies who support our organisation.

As the Supporter Engagement Officer, you’ll create opportunities for our amazing supporters to connect with and drive our work through various means of individual giving. You'll create engaging communucations, ensuring that our donors feel valued and understand the impact they're having on babies and their families, and you'll develop key appeals and individual giving activity to drive growth in these income streams.

You will:

1. Manage the development of individual giving income streams, including legacy giving, regular giving, one-off gifts, in memory giving and new products
2. Co-ordinate key engagement activity, such as the annual supporter Thankathon and Impact Report
3. Oversee administration and stewardship of individual giving income
4. Manage the promotion, sale and distribution of Lullaby Trust merchandise

This role can be offered as a hybrid role (with approximately one day per week in our London office) or fully remote, with occasional visits to the office for meetings or staff days as necessary; the two salary ranges above reflect this. The 21 hours could be worked across 3-5 days per week.

The aim of ROTA’s housing project, funded by the Oak Foundation, is to examine the racial inequities that continue to plague the housing sector. The business development team aims to expand Contact’s reach to parent carers and practitioners by exploring opportunities for new projects, partnerships, commissions and paid for content including webinars, workshops and training. We also work with forums to offer support on areas not covered by their grant​. We expand our reach and support offer alongside of funded programmes.​ We aim to increase organisational sustainability by generating income and contributing to core organisational costs.

The Business Development Co-ordinator reports to the Business Development Operations Manager and is the linchpin for our business development programmes.  You will be responsible for setting up events online and face to face, contacting trainers, taking bookings and supporting with promotion; making sure the support and content made available to families is kept up to date. The role also involves updating our CRM database, making sure invoices are raised and paid and collating information for reports from the database or Excel.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who has excellent IT and digital skills, ideally with experience of online event systems such as Eventbrite and Zoom, a good knowledge of Excel and experience using a CRM database. You’ll need to be highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a friendly, confident phone manner and a good knowledge of the issues and concerns families with disabled children face.

The Role

The Philanthropic Partnerships Assistant plays an important role in supporting the financial sustainability objectives of GGF UK. The postholder is responsible for managing a portfolio of trust and foundations partnerships giving up to $200,000 per year, and will also be responsible for stewarding our portfolio of individual giving supporters donating up to £10,000 per year. The role also contributes to GGF UK’s communications activity in collaboration with our global Communications function, as well as contributing to ensuring that the organisation’s fundraising activity is supported with robust infrastructure and processes.

The position reports to the Head of Philanthropic Partnerships, and works closely with colleagues across Global Greengrants Fund UK and Global Greengrants Fund Inc.

The candidate profile.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations, and/or individual donors, ideally within environmental, international, or rights-based organisations. They will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and time management skills, effectively prioritising tasks to deliver excellent results within a complex, varied, and time-sensitive workload.

With excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, the candidate will have a proven ability to create compelling proposals, presentations, reports, and other materials. They will possess strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Google Apps, and collaboration tools like Trello and Slack, along with experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems. The candidate will have a strong understanding of and commitment to environmental and social justice, with some knowledge of the issues addressed by Global Greengrants Fund. Additionally, they will have experience working with diverse global communities in a virtual environment.

The ideal candidate will be committed to shifting power in philanthropy, promoting trust-based and power-shifting approaches to philanthropy and grantmaking. The candidate will have a strong understanding of and commitment to environmental and social justice, aligning with the issues Global Greengrants Fund addresses. Board meetings and time commitment

The The Board ordinarily meets four times per year in March, May, August and November. Two of these meetings are held remotely via video call on a Saturday, and two are held in person in London across weekends. In addition, Trustees are encouraged to join a Committee relevant to their area of expertise which meets at least once per quarter via video call. An appropriate time commitment will be required over the course of the year for preparative work between meetings. Trustees are also invited to attend occasional charity events and join recruitment panels on an ad hoc basis.

Following a probationary period where Trustee-elects attend at least 2 board meetings, appointed Trustees serve a three-year term, with the option to renew for a further three years. Trusteeship is an unremunerated position, though reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Strategic Development who will play a pivotal role in advancing Big Change’s mission. You will be accountable for cultivating a purpose-led partnership portfolio, taking responsibility for securing funding (£2m+) and further activating our community of supporters. You will be motivated to grow the organisation but not just for the sake of it; the value of your work will revolve around catalysing and deepening impact with a long-term outlook for the work we do.

This position involves working closely with our existing community of entrepreneurial major donors and funders as well as spotting new opportunities at the intersection of our expert team, innovative projects and expansive network. We have big aims around systems change and transformation so we’re growing our team in order to bring skills and experience in this space. The Role

Accountabilities

1. Strategic Partnerships Development:

• Work closely with the senior leadership and development team to embed a long-term partnerships strategy.

• Take overall responsibility for Big Change’s income, driving the growth of a portfolio of partners that sets us up to achieve our mission, pre-empting and thoughtfully managing any tension between commercial and impact drivers.

• Qualify, develop, and manage relationships with strategic partners across the system, including complementary delivery partners, trusts, foundations, businesses, non-profit organisations and governmental agencies.

• Work with leaders in each area of the organisation to develop a strong model for partnerships linked to impact.

• Lead the creation of partnerships that enable experimentation and launch new ventures and projects.

• Negotiate and formalise partnership agreements that bring in resources, expertise, and influence to advance organisational goals.

• ​​Lead by example with a fresh, creative and open-minded approach to partnerships.

2. Pipeline Development:

• Design and execute a comprehensive income development plan that aligns with the organisation’s goals and priorities.

• Lead on pursuits for funding opportunities through grants, major gifts, corporate sponsorships and other revenue streams.

• Work closely with the finance, impact and community teams to align fundraising efforts with project needs and organisational priorities.

• Track and report on fundraising progress, ensuring transparency and accountability in all pipeline development activities.

• Deliver on annually agreed revenue targets without compromising the integrity of the charity.

• Employ a robust control environment (e.g. policies and contract management), manage risks and implement risk mitigation strategies in relation to all fundraising and awareness raising activity.

3. Leadership and Team Development:

• Lead and mentor a team focused on partnerships and development in a systemic context, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

• Champion continual professional development and support team members to grow and build their skills and careers.

• Foster an organisational-wide partnership mindset, responsible for sharing the knowledge, inspiration and tools.

• Manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and use of resources.

• Contribute to the organisation's strategic direction.

• Develop, inspire and motivate others to fulfil their potential and foster collaboration across Big Change and its community.

4. Partner & Funder Engagement:

• Provide overall vision and leadership that inspires ongoing support for Big Change across our supporter network.

• Along with the wider team, develop and implement strategies to further deepen relationships with major donors and partners including individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors.

• Lead efforts to steward major gifts and multi-year funding commitments for new and ongoing projects.

• Oversee tailored stewardship to major donors, ensuring their ongoing engagement and satisfaction with their contributions.

• Collaborate with the CEO and Trustees to identify and approach new prospects.

5. External Communication and Advocacy:

• Inspire stakeholders by expertly representing Big Change at events and external engagements.

• Define and communicate value propositions with ambition and deep insight.

• Advocate for the organisation's work within the philanthropic and broader social impact community.

• Collaborate with the communications team to enhance the organisation’s visibility and reputation through strategic messaging and outreach.

Skills / capabilities:

• Proven ability to develop and manage high-impact partnerships in a systems-change context.

• Team leadership experience with a focus on inclusivity, learning, development and collaboration.

• Strong track record in major gift fundraising and donor engagement.

• Experience of empowering managers within a team to take ownership of goals and priorities, and ensure that teams collaborate and share best practice effectively.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to see potential synergies between seemingly unrelated fields that leads to exciting collaborations and novel approaches to complex problems.

• Ability to establish and manage effective working relationships with people of all working styles, backgrounds and industry-experience.

• Excellent organisational and strategic planning skills and the ability to assess, prioritise and manage a varied and demanding workload under pressure and with tight deadlines across different multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications / experience

• 3+ years leading a high-performing strategic partnerships team, preferably within a philanthropic or non-profit organisation.

• Experience leading teams that consistently meet 7-figure annual funding targets.

• Experience in launching and managing new ventures or projects.

• Understanding of approaching complex problems with systems change methodologies.

• Strategy design and delivery.

• Confidence and experience navigating varied funder landscapes (including trusts and foundations, businesses, major donors, government bodies).

• Reporting to senior governance bodies within a charity.

• Experienced in the negotiation and agreement of contracts with valued partners.
