We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and ambitious Strategic Partnerships Manager to join our UK Development Team on either a full or part time basis. The Strategic Partnerships Manager plays an integral role in supporting Hope for Justice's fundraising and income generation strategy, and provides crucial contributions to our programme initiatives, and our overall mission to live in a world free from modern slavery and human trafficking.

As Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Building a robust pipeline of appropriate opportunities from trusts, foundations and/or institutional donors.
• Forming and maintaining strong relationships with key donors and partners, with excellent donor stewardship.
• Developing quality proposals through effective proposal management, working closely with Hope for Justice programmes, MEL and finance teams.
• Managing grants/awards to ensure that Hope for Justice is complying with donor contractual obligations, including collating and submitting technical and financial reports.

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator, relationship-builder and problem-solver to take us to the next level in the way we interact with grant-making bodies. They will have expertise in written, numerical and analytical skills, as well as a strong track record in securing medium to large-size grants from trusts, foundations and institutional donors. They will have experience in building complex bids, engaging in negotiations with donors and partners, and project and programme design. They will have the ability to liaise confidently and diplomatically with donors and colleagues globally.

Requirements

Role Description

The Project Manager is an adept and organised professional, esteemed within the nuclear policy community for their level. Responsible for overseeing a discrete package of work, they must demonstrate a clear understanding and alignment with broader programme goals, strategies, and objectives. The role will report to the Programme Manager.

Taking charge of project deliverables, the Project Manager will navigate the entire project cycle, from generating fundraising ideas to developing them further and building knowledge of funding relationships. The Project Manager should possess a solid understanding of global security and conflict resolution, coupled with a proven ability to design, and execute high-quality project management and research. The ideal candidate is an established researcher with a specialisation in nuclear weapons issues, in particular the Non-Proliferation Treaty regime, and an emerging track record of policy relevant publications. 

The Project Manager will kickstart and manage BASIC’s new project: the Nuclear Transparency Index (NUTRI). The Nuclear Transparency Index (NUTRI) will be an online index maintained by BASIC that will assess the transparency of all States that possess nuclear weapons (both those recognised by the Non-Proliferation Treaty and those that are not). Looking at nuclear transparency in its various aspects, the index, using a series of metrics, will enable ranking and comparison of changes over time. The Project Manager will need to apply creative thinking to the development of a transparency framework, and strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess the implementation of each metric by the states under review.

The Project Manager should also possess the skills to promote their work at relevant multilateral forums, expand their network in their area of specialisation, benefiting BASIC, and be capable of line managing other team members within their project. 

This role necessitates a formal project or programme management qualification – BASIC will provide the Project Manager with such training and qualifications if they do not already possess one. The Project Manager will collaborate with their line manager to identify a professional development plan, closing skills gaps and aspiring to become an internationally respected leader in their field.

1. The Peaceful Nuclear Technologies Portal (PEANUT, 2024-2025)

The PEANUT Portal will be a one-stop shop microsite featuring information about available civil nuclear science and technologies for the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs or ‘Global Goals’). In this capacity, you will work with a subject matter expert (already appointed) to build the site and actively promote the site and peaceful nuclear technologies more generally amongst relevant States and multilateral conferences.

As Project Manager, you will oversee the successful completion of further funding for the PEANUT project for beyond March 2025.

2. ‘Scoping British Nuclear Weapons Harms’ (2024-2026). 

Scoping British Nuclear Harms is a two-year scoping inquiry into the humanitarian and environmental harms caused by the UK Government’s nuclear weapons programme since its genesis. The candidate will build on existing work by BASIC to develop a nuclear harm reduction framework, and develop national and international networks with others working on these issues to develop and promote this work.

The role requires a fundamental understanding of the UK’s nuclear weapons programme and history, and the Project Manager will have a professional background in nuclear science and/or technology. Ideally the Project Manager will also have experience with science communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and innovate UK fundraising efforts, focusing on major donors and corporates.

Job purpose: 

To develop and deliver a strategic approach to increasing the land area committed to  large-scale rewilding initiatives which deliver nature’s recovery alongside thriving local communities.  The focus will be on engaging, inspiring and empowering others to adopt and apply rewilding principles, models and approaches.

Main responsibilities: 

In collaboration with senior staff and the Rewilding Manager you will be responsible for leading and project managing the development and delivery of a plan to expand landscape scale rewilding across Britain, including:

• Providing support and advice to targeted existing larger scale rewilding initiatives. 

• Engaging with a wide range of stakeholders — including landowners and managers - in key potential rewilding landscapes and influencing them to integrate rewilding into their management plans.

• Researching the potential for rewilding — including its opportunities, cost and benefits and financial viability - in key areas and presenting this in a compelling way.

• Inspiring, influencing and supporting new initiatives and partnerships focused on upscaling rewilding across larger landscapes and a diverse range of ownership and management types — community-led and multi-stakeholder partnerships, private, public, corporate and NGO landowners, commoners, crofters etc.

• Working with the Rewilding Manager to ensure that our annual Challenge Fund award acts to catalyse and enable the development of large-scale 'exemplar' rewilding initiatives.

• Liaising with the Rewilding Manager to encourage new initiatives to join and engage in the Rewilding Network.

• Representing Rewilding Britain to external stakeholders on various events, platforms and network groups.

• Delivering effective systems and processes for tracking, monitoring and reporting on progress.

• Working closely with the Rewilding Director and Rewilding Manager to ensure we best target resources. 

Skills, experience and behaviours:

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience. However, this is an exciting new role so there is some scope for refinement of responsibilities, depending on the chosen candidate. Experience

• At least eight years’ professional experience in a relevant field, e.g. conservation and/or land management/agency.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

This is a full-time role at 35 hours per week, but we're open to applications from those looking to work 28 hours or more per week.

The salary is £40k - £48k per annum (depending on relevant experience).

There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.

Role Description

The Programme Manager is a highly-efficient, well-organised, and internationally-respected member of the nuclear policy community.They are expected to be able to take primary ownership of project delivery management as well as lead the development of multiple new projects, including developing ideas leading to successful fundraising.They will have strong knowledge of several methodologies which could be used for new projects and will have a track record of winning funding, as well as some knowledge of funding relationships. 

The Programme Manager will have specialisation in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Regime and will need to have a good general knowledge of global security and conflict resolution, and a demonstrable ability to design and carry out project management and research to a high standard. They are expected to be an internationally recognised researcher with a strong area of specialisation related to nuclear weapons issues, specifically in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty regime. 

The Programme Manager will implement the Non-Proliferation Treaty Monitor (NPT Monitor), a platform that provides independent analysis and information on the effectiveness and implementation of the Treaty by the NPT-recognised nuclear-weapon States. The key objective for the Programme Manager will be to develop this project to a level where the NPT Monitor becomes a permanent and essential fixture of the NPT regime, providing significant analysis on treaty implementation for States Parties (especially smaller delegations), NGOs, and academia. 

The Programme Manager will demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision within the nuclear policy community. They will have a robust track record of policy-relevant publications. A strong network in their area of specialisation is essential, and they are expected to maintain and expand it to benefit BASIC. The Programme Manager will also be responsible for line managing team members across multiple projects, demonstrating exceptional leadership and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

For the Senior Policy Fellow title, we expect a well-developed professional network, particularly in fundraising relationships; we expect the ability to manage large scale, complex projects with budgets exceeding £400,000/year; and we expect an independently developed vision for the growth and further development of the programme including a fundraising strategy to match this ambition. This role also demands a formal project or programme management qualification, although we are open to discussing the provision of training if this has not already been achieved.

What you’ll do​

As an Area Manager, your role is to increase our partner numbers and support engagement with our existing schools and colleges, helping them to make the most of the Unifrog platform. Excellent customer service is at the heart of what we do, and you will make sure that all interactions with Unifrog are positive and successful. 

You will cover your own area of the country - the Midlands and East Anglia region - with occasional travel to these locations (on average 1-2 days per week).

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Meeting with potential partners at schools and colleges (in person and via video call). You’ll demonstrate the Unifrog platform, convey our mission to level the playing field for students and look to secure their ongoing subscription.
• Supporting schools with constructing their long and short-term careers strategy, then reporting on the impact of the Unifrog platform each academic year.
• Maintaining outstanding relationships with existing partner schools, which includes  delivering remote and in-person training to ensure they make the most of the platform.
• Developing an excellent knowledge of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) within the UK and consulting with schools on how to support their students.
• Proactively working to foster a sense of community amongst our Unifrog partners and always thinking about how we can promote the sharing and embedding of Unifrog best practice across our partner schools.
• Achieving sky-high resubscription rates.
• Working collaboratively with Unifrog Account Managers to devise strategies for success with schools and colleges.

We’re looking for a Fellowship Engagement Manager (North, Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland) to help us achieve real impact by enhancing and deepening Fellowship engagement in the designated areas, fostering connections among fellows, facilitating fellows learning of new skills, and helping them leverage their expertise to drive tangible social change. 

About You 

What we look for in a successful candidate:

• Proven experience of initiating, facilitating and delivering a range of events and activities.
• Experience of building capacity or organising others to take action, this could be in a campaign or membership organisation.
• Knowledge of best practice regarding mobilising and sustaining volunteer-led networks. 
• Ability to plan, multitask, prioritise, and work independently to meet deadlines.

Elrha is a global organisation that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. 

We are looking to recruit an Events Coordinator to work on our two major Forum events in 2025 that will be held in Nairobi, Kenya; an Innovation Forum and a Research Forum. Each event is an exciting opportunity to bring together global leaders in humanitarian research and innovation (R&I), providing a critical opportunity to amplify the impact of R&I through strategic collaboration and knowledge sharing with the humanitarian community. We are partnering with Kenya-based organisations and global steering committees to develop an engaging and participatory agenda, helping to define the future of humanitarian innovation and research. Please note, this is a fixed term role for 9 months.

You will have the opportunity be at the centre of these events in a critical role that will contribute to shaping two conferences that seek to redefine humanitarian response for greater impact and sustainability. You'll be involved in planning and participation, including travel to Kenya, through to post-event learning and evaluation. You will facilitate collaboration between our internal teams and ensure seamless coordination with external stakeholders.  You will also support Elrha teams with other event activities related to the Forums, including annual community events in the humanitarian sector.

We're looking for someone who is resourceful, proactive, and flexible, with the ability to work in a constantly changing environment.Your application will need to demonstrate: 

• Experience of event management and coordination, including supporting large-scale international and multi-cultural events. 
• Ability to collaborate with diverse and multi-cultural teams and stakeholders, including suppliers and event management companies, at all levels of seniority. 
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work even when under pressure of tight deadlines. 
• Experience of supporting the development of events communications materials, working with brand and accessibility guidelines. 
• An interest in creating engaging and inclusive events to promote effective collaboration among diverse participants from the humanitarian or development sectors.

Experience of managing events specifically in the humanitarian sector or working internationally, with working knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
