In the role of Individual Giving Assistant – Supporter Retention & Development at The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, you will play a key role in supporting the Individual Giving team. As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insight, advice and support to key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be a trusted adviser to non-finance teams helping them to understand financial data and make informed decisions. You will be a key element of the high-performing and credible finance team, supporting both the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant and the Assistant Accountant in operational finance and in ongoing delivery of accurate financial information on which the business partnering relies.
To be successful in this role you will have strong analytical skills, providing financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting advice to drive performance and operational efficiency. You will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the RCR. Having strong commercial acumen, you will be able to communicate with and influence a range of audiences effectively with an understanding that strong, reliable financial data is the foundation of a successful business and is a primary deliverable.

What you’ll do:
- Deliver a decision support service to managers and directors to deliver improved financial performance outcomes for the RCR.
- Ensure that partners use effective financial controls over their spend and income conforming to RCR’s policies and to optimise RCR’s outcomes.
- Support the partners in the production of outturn forecasts, budgets and multiyear financial plans that conform to RCR’s financial needs.
- Provide effective analytical insight and advice to partners and Head of Finance to maximise the return on investment and support for implementing change to improve outcomes.
- Supporting RCR’s regular financial and non-financial performance reporting with analytical advice, insight and commentaries.
- Support the wider finance team in delivering timely management information
- Help with system development within the finance team such as upgrades
- Cover for the Head of finance in their absence.
What you’ll need:
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
- Experience of financial business partnering role or accounting role in comparable organisation.
- Excellent commercial skills, including the ability to lead or support negotiations and to influence and motivate others.
- Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical/non-professional audiences.
- An enquiring and analytical mindset with the ability to spot risks, to dig further to follow up on problems and work through issues to offer practical solutions.
- Experience of collaborative work across functions to support others in delivering tasks and projects.

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Finance Director in the delivery of the organisation’s financial objectives and is expected to contribute to the financial culture, strategy and development of the organisation. Key areas of responsibility:
- Management and operation of financial control framework including maintenance of the policies and procedures that support its effective operation

- Producing the annual statutory accounts and leading the statutory audit process for the CIUK Group (comprising the UK charity and its trading subsidiary)
- Managing efficient and effective treasury management including robust and timely cash flow forecasting
- Supervising the controls and processes that support effective management of the balance sheet including balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing good quality accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Managing tax for the charity and trading subsidiary including VAT returns and Gift Aid

Who are we looking for?
- A formally qualified accountant with relevant experience of financial accounting gained in a complex organisation
- Someone with experience of producing year end statutory accounts in Charities SORP format, preparing and adhering to year end timelines and being a key point of contact for auditors
- An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation
- Analytical with good judgement and decision making capability

- Customer Relationship Management database experience, such as Salesforce

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord. They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning. 1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do. About the roles: The Member Support Assistant is responsible for assisting our Volunteer Manager with administration relating to the support of the charity’s 4,000 members and volunteers. This includes offering a professional service to members of CAUK, typically via phone, email, online, chat, or on occasion in person. The role involves supporting the membership and volunteering processes, ensuring all admin is accurate and up to date. Over time the post-holder will be expected to build a good working knowledge of members and volunteers. The Events and Office Assistant is responsible for assisting the Charity Manager with the administration of events alongside some general office activities for the charity. About the role

The Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism are separate organisations, which are currently working towards coming together as one charity. The successful candidate will initially be employed by the Movement for Reform Judaism, working closely with Liberal Judaism as a partner organisation.
A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA), who is a strong multi-tasker, you will have a proven track record of leading a team and working in partnership with colleagues. This senior role will be responsible for finance and risk for MRJ and LJ, as well as providing accounts, budgets, overseeing audits for 3 other related charities, with an overall combined turnover of £10m.
