Wycombe Women’s Aid is an anti-racist and intersectional feminist charity which exists to provide independent, high-quality specialist services to women and children experiencing the effects of domestic violence. Our vision is of a world where women and children live their lives free from domestic and sexual violence. We are a women-only organisation, working from a trauma informed perspective, and committed to empowerment and self-help. We listen to women and children and believe in women’s power to take back control of their lives.
We are seeking to appoint new, general Trustees and a Treasurer. An induction programme and governance training will be provided for all new Trustees.
Trustees are encouraged to share advice and experience in support of the CEO’s role in managing Wycombe Women’s Aid. Trustees will have passion and interest in women’s and children's issues and experience and skills in any of the following areas:
· Financial management
· Social Care / Education / Health
· Charity work / Community work
· Housing
Experience of managing teams, monitoring and evaluation of services, strategic planning, fundraising and an understanding of, or lived experience of, domestic violence would also be beneficial.

Global’s Make Some Noise is the in-house grant-making charity of Global, the Media and Entertainment group. We harness the assets of Global to raise funds, awareness and skills for small charities supporting the people who need it most in their communities.
We have proudly raised over £34 million for more than 400 UK charities since our launch in 2014. Last year we funded crucial work at 59 charities across the country, granting over £2.5m. A further 20 charities benefitted from access to small grants to achieve a transformational organisation development aim. This financial support will change more than 24,000 lives in the UK, with thousands more family members indirectly benefitting.
This is our ten-year anniversary, and we are at a pivotal moment looking at opportunities to significantly grow and amplify our impact. This is an exciting time to be launching our Philanthropy Development Committee and we are excited to be seeking someone to lead this and join our Trustee Board.
The Role
This is your opportunity to make a real impact for communities across the UK. We’re looking for a driven, passionate, and ambitious individual to join our Board of Trustees and lead our new Philanthropy Development Committee (PDC), with the aim of raising £1 million over the next two years. As Chair of the PDC, you will create this Committee, help shape its terms of reference, and recruit its members, drawing on a mix of high net worth individuals, foundations, and possibly corporates. You’ll be supported by our charity team in these endeavours and will also provide guidance and advice to our team on its outreach. Help us deliver our Vision of a Midlands Region where no one goes hungry and where children don’t go to school on an empty stomach
Last year, our food helped over 500 frontline charities and community groups across the Midlands to provide 13 million meals.
FareShare Midlands (FSM) is the region’s largest food redistribution charity. We take good-to-eat surplus food from the food industry and get it to our Members - frontline charities and community groups all over the Midlands. We turn an environmental problem into a social solution.
Last year we redistributed almost 5,794 tonnes of food from our warehouses in Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham. It is sorted and stored by our dedicated teams of staff and volunteers, and then redistributed to around 800 Members including food pantries and cafes, homeless shelters and drop-in centres.
These local organisations turn the food into food parcels, affordable shopping and delicious meals for people of all ages. As well as food, our Members provide vital support to families and the elderly, many of whom are facing challenging circumstances and living in poverty.
Last year our food reached more than 83,000 vulnerable people every week, providing 13 million meals. At the same time, we are growing our Employability Programmes to help people gain work experience, skills and jobs.
Our Purpose at FareShare Midlands is to Fight Hunger, Tackle Food Waste and to Create Opportunities.
The Role

Mental Health Resource is a well-established, independent charity based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We are passionate about improving mental wellbeing in our community, and aim to do this by enabling people to feel supported and valued, providing opportunities for social connections and by raising awareness of mental health. We deliver high quality and effective services across West Kent providing safe spaces and person-centred mental health support.
We provide comprehensive services with both a focus on short term and long-term mental health support, enabling people to access our projects for as longs as they want or need support. Our beneficiaries have complex and enduring mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-harming, psychosis, schizophrenia and bi-polar and, on average, we work with over 900 adults and young people each year.
About the Trustee roles
You would be working with other trustees who have different skills, knowledge and experience. It's an interesting role in which you can help formulate ideas about how we as an organisation can best address the challenges and opportunities that exist in an increasingly complex and changing environment.
We would love to hear from you if you have a true interest in helping to improve the lives of those with mental health conditions in our community, and especially if you have skills or experience in working in a charity or in finance. No experience of being a trustee is necessary.
You would be expected to attend and participate in six Board meetings per year which are held via Teams/Zoom and last 2-3 hrs. Who we are:
We are a long-standing (32 years) local charity, based in Ashford, providing friendly advice, companionship and volunteering opportunities for anyone in our part of Kent who is socially isolated, lonely, or would welcome support with their mental health and wellbeing. We arrange 3 free drop-in sessions per week at Ashford Parish Rooms, at which our service users participate in a wide range of activities including crafts, singing and art therapy. We also offer food and beverages from our pop-up healthy eating café and dedicated door-to-door transport where required.
Due to an upcoming retirement we are now seeking a Trustee to join our Board.
About the Role:
General Trustee
As with all of our Trustees we warmly welcome community-minded individuals who want to make a difference and are happy to bring their personal and professional experience and expertise to the Board. If you have legal, IT or HR background that would be a bonus, but the key attributes are that you have a commitment to enhancing the health and wellbeing of the local community and want to help people live independently wherever possible.
It is expected that all Trustees will be able to attend our Trustee meetings in Ashford, which are held at least once a quarter, as well as the AGM and ideally a small number of other functions eg fundraising events.
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
An ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
An understanding of the legal duties and responsibilities of trusteeship.

It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. We strive to tell the stories of LGBTQ+ people and to provide positive and reassuring messages to LGBTQ+ youth.
Founded in 2010 in America, the It Gets Better Project has since grown into a global movement, with affiliated charities in 20 different countries. We launched in the UK in October 2018 and have grown significantly since then. Our rapidly expanding organisation now includes a newly appointed staff team consisting of a CEO and a Volunteer Coordinator, alongside a dedicated team of volunteers across the UK.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking dynamic and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees. We are particularly looking for expertise in the following key areas:
Key areas of expertise and desired backgrounds
- Corporate Partnerships and Strategic Fundraising:
- Experience in securing and managing corporate partnerships, preferably within the charity sector. Knowledge of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and strategic fundraising initiatives that drive financial support and long-term relationships.

- Small Charity Growth and Development:

- Community Engagement and Advocacy:
- Deep understanding of the LGBTQ+ community, with experience in community organising, advocacy, or public engagement. Ability to build strong relationships with community stakeholders and effectively represent the charity’s mission.
Roles and responsibilities
As a trustee, you will play a critical role in guiding our strategic direction, ensuring good governance, and supporting the delivering of our mission. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Oversight: Collaborate with fellow trustees and staff to develop and implement strategies that align with the charity’s goals and ensure its sustainable growth.
- Advisory Role: Provide expert advice in your area of expertise, whether that be corporate partnerships, legal matters, charity growth, or community engagement.
- Support and Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for the charity, promoting our work and engaging with key stakeholders to advance our mission.
- Operational Input: While our board is transitioning from an operational to a more strategic focus, trustees will still be expected to take on functional roles as needed, especially in areas where the charity requires additional support
Qualifications and skills
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ youth and can bring the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing equality and inclusivity within the LGBTQ+ community.
- Relevant professional experience in one or more of the key areas listed above.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to high-level decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Willingness to dedicate time and expertise to the charity’s success.
Time commitment
- The Board meets at least four times a year.
- It is expected the trustees spent at least two hours a week on their duties.
- As we continue to transition our board to a more strategic focus, trustees may be asked to support operational tasks on an as-needed basis.

The Ecology Centre is looking for a Chair to lead our community and environmental charity in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
We are looking for an individual who shares our values and who brings suitable commercial acumen and leadership skills to drive strategic growth and effective governance. As Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will play a critical role in designing and overseeing the strategic direction of our charity in collaboration with the Board of Trustees and General Manager. You will act as Chair to a close-knit, committed Board of Trustees, ensuring robust financial oversight, governance and innovation. We are looking for an individual who can help to bring our mission and vision to life and who can oversee the effective commercial management of the charity. Proven leadership experience within the charity sector is preferred but we are open to hearing from any individuals who can bring a proven track-record and understanding of leadership and financial management and who fits our values. Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic leadership to the charity in collaboration with the Board of Trustees
- Guiding the short and long-term strategic development of the charity
- Assuring and strengthening effective governance, including effective controls and monitoring of financial health, risk management and legal compliance
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders (in the community and beyond) to establish best practice sharing and an effective fundraising strategy

We are seeking three individuals to be active members of our Board of Trustees, working collaboratively with other trustees, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to help the food bank in pursuit of its Vision and Strategic Plan. The Trustee will also be expected to lead on certain areas and initiatives, as required by the charity, and which utilises the Trustees experience and skills.
Volunteering is a fantastic way for you to be involved in your local community and volunteers are at the heart of all that we do as a food bank. The role of volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to support people in crisis will continue to be critical as we work together to fulfil our vision of seeing a UK without the need for food banks.
Key Tasks:
- ensure that Stratford Upon Avon Foodbank complies with and pursues its objects as defined in its governing document, charity and company law, and other relevant legislation or regulations
- ensure that the food bank applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objects
- give firm strategic direction to the food bank contributing to the food bank’s strategic plan, helping set policies, defining goals, setting targets, and evaluating performance against agreed targets
- appoint the food bank manager and monitor their performance
- safeguard the good name and ethos of the food bank
- ensure the effective and efficient administration of the food bank
- lead and/or serve on sub-committees and attendance at various other meetings, including with the charity’s staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.
- ensure an understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of equality, equity, diversity and inclusion
Trustees may also undertake additional work for the charity between meetings subject to their availability and skill set.
About you:
We are looking for people who want to help their local community and work towards the eradication of food poverty whilst support the food bank to continue to provide emergency food to people who find themselves in crisis. Our ideal candidates would demonstrate:
