We do this by offering high-quality information and advice services, opportunities for development and training, and a platform to seek social and systemic change. Our work is organized across three main operational areas—Advice and Casework, education, Training and Employment, and children and Young People—and a crosscutting area: Advocacy, Research, and Campaigning.
With 40 years of experience, we support over 4,000 people every year.
Being a Trustee
IRMO’s Board of Trustees is made up of six to nine Trustees, who work together to ensure the charity is run properly. As a trustee, you will have the opportunity to support IRMO’s strategic development and oversee its finances. Trustees meet every two months (usually online in the evening) and are asked to commit an additional eight to ten hours between meetings to follow up on actions and provide advice and input on strategic documents and areas of work relevant to their areas of expertise.
General Responsibilities
- Stay up to date with and assess the political, economic and social contexts that affect IRMO’s work
- Support the development of and approve IRMO’s key strategic documents
- Annually review and approve IRMO’s budget
- Review, update and approve major policies
- Approve salaries, benefits, terms and conditions for staff
- Ensure that IRMO’s financial structure is adequate for its current needs and long-term strategy
- Ensure that the organisation has the necessary resources in place to meet its long-term goals
- Ensure that the Board of Trustees is adequately informed of the condition of the organisation and its operations
- Ensure that published reports adequately reflect the nature of the services and the financial condition of the organisation
- Approve major actions of the organisation, such as capital expenditure over authorised limits and major changes in activities and services
- Review staff results in relation to IRMO’s aims and objectives, as well as annual and long-term goals
- Appoint, supervise, support, and appraise IRMO’s Director
- Provide candid and constructive criticism, advice, comments and praise
- Ensure that the Director has established appropriate policies to define and identify conflicts of interest throughout the organisation and are administering and enforcing those policies
- Appoint independent examiners/auditors subject to approval by members
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation affecting the organisation
- Annually review the performance of the Board of Trustees and take steps to improve its performance

DCF are a family-founded charity focusing on supporting children and young people's wellbeing. We provide youth groups, workshops and 121 support in schools and in the community.

Purpose of the role
To conduct research and apply for grants and funding that Rebuilding Lives UK are eligible for. To contribute to fundraising strategies and share and implement fundraising ideas.
What you will be doing
We are looking for fundraiser volunteers to join our team to:
- Lead research for grants and funding that the charity is eligible for.

Rekindle was started in Newtown, Powys in 1997 by a group of people who had all experienced mental health problems within their own families. The aim was to give relief to those suffering from mental illness with therapy and targeted activities. Rekindle is all about recovery, the recovery of mental health, the recovery of opportunity and the recovery of a fulfilled life.
What will you be doing?
In addition to general trustee responsibilities, we're particularly interested with in candidates who have an interest in local business connections or experience in fundraising or mental health service delivery. Depending on skill, some specific responsibilities may include:
- Fundraising oversight

Time commitment
- Estimated at 8 - 10 hours a month.
- The board meet 4 times a year, generally in person. Remote attendance can be supported, but trustees are encouraged to attend at least 2 meetings a year face to face.

Expected Time Commitments
Trustees are asked to attend four trustee (Council) meetings per year, one of which includes the AGM. Further support to the Trust and attendance to other committee meetings are encouraged, but it is recognised that these would be dependent on the individual’s personal circumstances and other commitments.
Hybrid working - Meetings ideally take place ‘in person’ at the Bendrigg site (LA8 0NR) (minimum of two per year), however, online access can usually be made available if required.

We are recruiting for a new Treasurer to oversee our finances and are looking for someone with a formal qualification in a financial discipline and financial management experience at a strategic level to join our small but dynamic team. Role Description
Key tasks:

The new Trustees will bring experience of working at a senior level in the not-for-profit sector. The Vice Chair will bring governance experience, and the fundraising trustee will have experience of fundraising in organsiations of a similar size. We are looking for a passion for, and understanding of, international development, along with strong people skills and a good grasp of strategic planning.

Magic Me is looking for new trustees to join our Board and help us continue our work creating connections between generations through creative arts. This is a voluntary role, and we welcome individuals from all walks of life, particularly those from racially minoritized backgrounds, people under 30 or over 50, and those with lived experience in East London.

No previous trustee experience is required, as we offer full support, training, and mentorship for first-time trustees through our ‘Board Buddy’ system.
We are looking for trustees with:
- Skills in project/programme management, fundraising or the creative arts: Whether you are a creative practitioner, artist, or have experience in managing projects or fundraising, your expertise can help us enhance our creative arts programmes and reach more communities.
- A passion for our vision: We need individuals who are committed to our values and our vision of creating a world without ageism, where everyone can enjoy their unique creativity and full potential.
As part of your responsibilities, we’ll be asking that you form a new Creative Strategy Committee to provide guidance and support for the development of our arts projects, ensuring that the voices of our participants are heard at the highest level of governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance and oversight: Ensure Magic Me operates for public benefit and aligns with its charitable objectives.
- Financial stewardship: Help ensure our resources are used effectively and participate in discussions on budgets and financial statements.
- Ambassadorial role: Promote Magic Me’s work to external stakeholders, enhancing our public profile.
Time Commitment & Location:
- Time Commitment: Approximately half a day per month, including quarterly Board meetings and sub-committee participation.
- Location: Board meetings take place in person in Bethnal Green, London. Committee meetings are held online.

We are recruiting for a new Trustee to contribute generally to the strategic decision making and medium-term planning. We are particularly interested in hearing from young people from all backgrounds and all experiences and welcome individuals who want to apply their knowledge and learn from our young people, staff and fellow Board members. A full induction and training on the work of Sculpt will be provided.

Role Description
· Key tasks:
- Assist in ensuring that the organisation pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document and legally operates
- Contribute actively to the Board of Trustees’ role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
- Safeguard the good name and values of the organisation
- Represent the organisation at functions and meetings as appropriate
- Declare any conflict of interest whilst carrying out the duties of a trustee
- Take collectively responsible for the actions of the organisation and other trustees
- Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation
- Abide by all relevant policies and procedures
- Ensure the financial stability of the organisation
- Protect and manage the property of the organisation and ensure the proper investment of the organisation’s funds
- Ensure the organisation is properly insured against all reasonable liabilities
- Assist in the appointment and support Senior Managers and monitor their performance
- Provide feedback on board papers, lead discussions, focus on key issues, provide advice and guidance on new initiatives
- Attend meetings and to read papers in advance of meetings
- Attend sub-committee meetings as appropriate
- Participate in other task as arise from time to time, such as interviewing new staff, helping with fundraising

Sculpt is a UK-based charity with over 20 years’ experience of working with young people aged 14-25 empowering them to shape their futures. Sculpt works with disadvantaged young people in their transition to adulthood, equipping them with life-skills, knowledge and practical work experience to support them to shape their futures. We work directly with young people and professionals/employers to break down barriers to opportunity.
