The Volunteering Coordinator is a key point of contact for our volunteer network, supporting the coordination of their activities and providing administrative assistance to support the volunteers to thrive. The Volunteer Coordinator will support a ‘culture of volunteering' and ensure the critical role of volunteer is understood and valued across the whole organisation.
By working collaboratively with the wider Income Generation and Corporate Services Team and their peers, the Volunteering Coordinator will aim to ensure that our volunteer network is co-ordinated effectively to meet the current demands of our income and events portfolio.
The post holder will be responsible for recruitment, engagement and training of a dedicated team of volunteers and in addition responsible for ensuring that upcoming opportunities and tasks are communicated, assigned and that enquiries are replied to in a timely manner.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- A proactive, flexible and positive approach is essential.
- Be the primary point of contact for volunteer enquiries via phone, chat forums or email ensuring they receive responses within agreed timeframes, and always in a warm, friendly, and supportive manner.
- Have the ability to motivate, inspire and communicate the value of volunteers to all levels of the charity.
- Organise recruitment programmes and match volunteer skills to charity needs. Deliver induction and training to volunteers.
- Work with colleagues in Income Generation and Corporate Services to ensure that volunteers are kept up to date about KSS activities and opportunities, to ensure they give their time and represent us appropriately.
- Support with any volunteer administration, mail merges and maintain accurate records of volunteer details on the charity databases, social media platforms and event management programme.
- Oversee the coordination of opportunities versus volunteer sign ups to ensure volunteer target numbers are met against activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, local agencies, and partners to promote KSS volunteering in order arrange volunteer attendance and encourage volunteer sign ups.
- Manage successful relationships with colleagues in Income Generation, Corporate Service and Service Delivery to activity support, fundraising, and awareness-raising and ensure that volunteers comply with training and development requirements for the responsibilities they undertake.
- Be confident in managing successful relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners to provide advice and guidance around policy, procedure internal & external compliance requirements and good practice.
- Work collaboratively with the HR Team and manage the DBS, onboarding, compliance, safeguarding and risk management procedures for new volunteers.
- Support at trainings sessions, volunteer meetings and social gatherings.
- Assist with the development of the volunteer experience – taking on board feedback, complaints and reviewing any processes accordingly.
- To champion the support and commitment of our volunteers within KSS, and ensuring that all members of Team KSS develop strong and appreciative relationships with our volunteer network.

The role
In this role you will support the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to develop and deliver fundraising initiatives that will support existing corporate partners and securing new gifts. Your responsibilities will include the day-to-day account management of existing corporate partners, new business development and the co-ordination of our payroll giving program. This will include research, prospect development, donor cultivation & stewardship, verbal & written presentations and all associated administration. Additionally, you will contribute to projects within the philanthropy & partnerships team such as events and webinars; and the wider fundraising team to collaborate on prospect development, funding opportunities and volunteering.
About you
You will be an excellent communicator, both orally and written, who is confident in speaking with supporters. You will manage your own pipeline of donors, so will need to take initiative, prioritise and organise your own work, with limited supervision to achieve deadlines for multiple tasks. Agile decision making and problem-solving skills are essential.
You may have fundraising experience, but this is not essential if you have sales experience.
You will have:
- Excellent customer service skills with a background in fundraising or sales.
- Experience in new business development including identifying, researching and contacting cold prospects.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present ideas creatively and persuasively.
- Strong administrative, planning and prioritisation skills with keen attention to detail.

Working in the Engagement department and reporting to the Adults and Communities Participation Manager, the Communities Participation Producer will create a year-round public programme of activities inspired by the collections, themes and sites of Royal Museums Greenwich. Key responsibilities include producing and delivering programmes in collaboration with community partners and stakeholders to create relevant, inclusive and inspiring activity across the Museum’s multiple sites. The role will focus on creating activity that welcomes underrepresented audiences to Royal Museums Greenwich sites, developing trusted relationships in the process and responding to the social purpose of the organisation.
The role will develop programmes that connect communities and collections around the legacies of empire, queer histories and stories of migration. This will involve working across generations to facilitate dialogue around under-represented histories and current issues in a variety of formats including large scale public festivals, talks, workshops and more. The role will have a focus on developing participation opportunities for African and Caribbean and East and South-East Asian diaspora, as well as LGBTQ+ communities, to develop stronger connections with the collection and bring new perspectives to maritime history. This will involve audience research and internal dialogue to create supportive spaces and activity at Royal Museums Greenwich and contribute towards it becoming a more inclusive and representative organisation.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of delivering a range of inclusive cultural engagement provision for diverse audiences, including large-scale public events, and creating audience-led programmes for African and Caribbean/ East Asian/ South-East Asian diaspora communities. The postholder will have a track record of building strong partnerships with communities and stakeholders, along with experience of writing and producing resources and promotional materials for a range of target audiences. The Head of Programmes is a critical role for the organisation, responsible for ensuring DEC funded programmes meet programmatic standards, are fully traceable, routinely monitored and comply with organisational procedures and institutional donors’ requirements. In addition, the Head of Programmes is also appointed as the Serious Incident Reporting (SIR) Officer, serving as the first point of contact for member agencies to report incidents regarding safeguarding, financial misconduct and reputational risk.

Key responsibilities:
Communication and Collaboration
- Key point of contact with member colleagues regarding programmes finance, adaptive programming and DEC compliance, facilitating timely and accurate communication.

- Manage & maintain investment in public transparency and demonstrate DEC’s contribution to the humanitarian sector, including reporting to IATI and UN OCHA Financial Tracking Service (FTS).
- Continuously develop, improve and manage DEC’s Knowledge Information Management systems (KIM), as user-friendly collaborating platforms that enhance learning and enable data analysis, visualisation and high-quality reporting.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the supervision of residents in accordance with policy and practice under the direction and guidance of managers and relevant staff where necessary. Deal with routine issues raised by residents on a day-to-day basis.
- Staff and supervise the Approved Premises during designated shifts, referring serious incidents to designated on-call Manager and adhere to the procedure of completing incident reports as necessary.

JOB PURPOSE
The Children and Young People’s Mentor will work within the CYP team to deliver services relating to children and young people affected by Domestic violence and Abuse.
They will hold a caseload for direct 1-1 work with young people/ girls and deliver a programme of groups in schools to adolescent girls. Responsibilities will include recording of data, reporting and completing evaluations.
They will be expected to promote the work of the Rising Sun and take a share of responsibility in delivering or assisting with promotional work within the organisation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery
- Work 1-1 with young people (aged 11 to 15 years) affected by Domestic violence and Abuse
- Build positive working relationships with local schools to deliver this programme
- Hold own caseload and respond in a way that understands the needs of the young people the Rising Sun supports
- Work in a mentoring capacity with children and adolescents with a specific focus on domestic abuse and its impact
- Recognise the impact of domestic abuse on young people and families; showing empathy and understanding in working with these families and developing the capacity to adopt a trauma informed approach to the work
- Support and facilitate groups in schools and in the community focusing on healthy relationships, spotting red flags etc
