About The Role
The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Development Managers to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.
As a Community Development Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of Community Builders, fostering collaboration, innovation and commitment to community impact working in an ABCD informed way. The aim is to connect and re-engage members of the AFC with the services at Help for Heroes and within the wider community.
This is an exciting and varied role for dynamic and confident individuals, in which the right candidate will work directly within communities across the UK; bringing the Armed Forces Community together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the leadership of an integrated, community development and hybrid volumizing offer which improves reach and sustained positive impact for members of the Armed Forces community.
About You
You will be responsible for the effective line management of a dispersed community-based team and have experience managing co-designed/co-delivered community development initiatives. You will recognise the potential for growth and expansion within these communities and empower local people to exact changes focused on what’s important to them.
You will have a genuine professional commitment to ABCD informed delivery, possess the capacity to work collaboratively with others and pilot projects for new community development initiatives by identifying and creating viable plans for growth and expansion to increase reach, impact and accessibility across the AFC.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate locality-based Community Development related services

Provide line management for a regionally specific team of Community Builders, positively participating in line management meetings, annual appraisals, monthly and quarterly team meetings as required facilitating 1:1 and group line management supervision including volunteers

Act as safeguarding and health and safety lead for your regional team ensuring safe practice

Set clear objectives and performance expectations for Community Development colleagues/volunteers and programme activity

Identify and leverage community assets and resources to support community development initiatives

Support the collation of evidence and impact data
PLEASE NOTE: There is a requirement for frequent travel extensively within the regions allocated for this role. There will be evening and weekend working as required and flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying.
We are looking for someone with the following:

Educated to degree level in a relevant field (Social Science, Community Development, Health and Social Care), related field, or hold an equivalent professional Community Development qualification.

Demonstrable experience of senior management/leadership of a Community Development team or integrated multi-disciplinary service informed by Community Development principles

Proficiency in managing projects from conception to completion

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
About The Team
You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with experience in shaping policy and the ability to communicate the position of the MS Society in Northern Ireland and to develop its profile to a wide range of audiences.
You’ll also act as a spokesperson for the MS Society in Northern Ireland and play an important role in developing our strategic approach to supporting people affected by MS. Helping us to ensure that our priorities align with the needs and aspirations of the MS community.

Philanthropy Manager
Salary: £37,100 per annum, pro rata
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Role
As Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for researching, establishing and developing a major gifts strategy and programme for the charity, in liaison with the Head of Fundraising. The role also encompasses building relationships with an existing portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, whilst researching and engaging new funders in order to secure sustainable income.
The Candidate
We're looking for someone with excellent communication and relationship building skills who can effectively cultivate and build relationships with prospects and donors, proving an outstanding supporter experience. You'll demonstrate your ability to develop relationships with high-net-worth individuals or high value partnerships, preferably in a charity or similar target-driven environment. You will have experience of working across an organisation to establish and/or grow a major gifts function, successfully soliciting major gifts for capital and revenue campaigns. You have proficient digital and research skills and a proven ability to analyse and evaluate data.
You will work remotely with regular attendance at DAA Head Office in Exeter. This role will involve a reasonable amount of travel around the county therefore a full driving license is essential (subject to a maximum of 3 penalty points) and access to a vehicle.

Job Purpose
Save the Children is looking for an ambitious and driven media professional with exceptional project management skills to develop and lead on Save the Children's media activity in Scotland, as well as line managing and supporting the senior media managers in N. The role will involve developing and driving the media and communications strategy in Scotland to support fundraising, policy, public affairs and brand objectives. The role will also line manage two senior media managers – one in Wales and one in Northern Ireland. You will lead and support them to deliver effective media and communications plans, while ensuring strategic co-ordination across the devolved nations and with the Save the Children UK office in England.
You will be highly organised and persuasive, with a good knowledge and understanding of child poverty issues and key political debates. You will have experience as a news journalist or in media handling, and a strong track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. Main Accountabilities
The Media Lead – Scotland's key duties will be to:
• Develop and implement a media and communications plan for Scotland that will deliver proactive and reactive coverage in support of Save the Children's influencing and fundraising objectives.
• Lead and manage the Senior Media Managers in Wales and Northern Ireland to develop and implement their own media plans. Provide them with technical and strategic guidance.

• Write compelling and hard-hitting media briefings and press releases focussing on Save the Children's work in Scotland, to influence policy makers and key stakeholders.
• Cultivate and harness the skills and expertise of colleagues – especially programmes and policy teams in Scotland - in our media and communications work, including by launching products like reports and coaching media spokespeople.
• Respond quickly to relevant breaking news to achieve cut through for policy calls.
• Identify and support children and families to tell their stories in media and communications, ensuring that ethical standards and best practice are maintained at all times. This includes children and families supported by Save the Children in Scotland and those fundraising or campaigning for our work.
• Protect Save the Children's reputation, developing and implementing crisis management media strategies and rebuttal as required.
Person Profile

You will be a detailed oriented person, proactive, well organised and excellent at managing various tasks and projects at the same time, with excellent project management and people skills. We are a trauma informed organisation, and while you may not be trauma trained – you will need to understand the need for a human touch within the systems and processes we hold (we will also provide training on our approach). As part of the role, you must understand HR regulation, contract management and general operational functions. We are looking for someone who is happy working on their own initiative with energy, enthusiasm and good humour, with a can-do attitude. You must be comfortable with working with external groups of people from varied backgrounds alongside our incredible team. Our work is involved and changes quickly. Person specification includes:
- Experience of working in an operations role
- Experience of managing systems (CRM & project management) & resource management tools (i.e. capacity tracking)
- Experience of reporting on operational functions such as HR and contracting
- Experience of supporting HR functions, including developing and reviewing policies
- Knowledge and experience of drafting and reviewing contracts
- Knowledge and understanding of compliance and risk management
- Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and project management skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Senior Operations manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Director of Ops in ensuring we have efficient systems and processes across the organisation and providing support on contracting needs for the businesses. Occasionally we are asked to help support the operational development of our clients. The role will involve:
- Operations oversight (40%)
- To take a systematic view of all operations across the business and make sure we have the correct operational tools, systems and processes in place to support our internal needs as well as delivery of work to our clients. Lead on designing and embedding effective tools and systems to support this and ensure there are up to date process maps to support the team in using them.
- Regular reporting on these systems to the senior management team to support business management and strategic decisions
- Working closely with heads of each function to ensure we have the right processes in place that support the team in delivering their work
- Ensuring we have the right policies in place for effective management of the business
- Responsible for overseeing all contracting for clients and employees
- Oversight and drafting of all client contracts – working with the Director of Ops to ensure contract templates are up to date and in line with any business shifts and fit for purpose.
- Managing any contracting risks and making sure all contracts are active and not expired. Setting up and maintaining reporting systems to ensure this information is fed back to the relevant teams and senior management.
- Addressing any questions from the team and clients on contracts
- Support the Head of Governance, Risk and Innovation to manage mitigations for any emerging risks, document any incidents, have effective reporting mechanisms in place, including updating the risk register
- HR and payroll (40%)
- Support the HR element within the development and delivery of Hive, our Employer of Record payroll service.
- Lead on recruitment and induction processes for the business and clients. This includes ensuring the processes are fit for purpose and efficient for the business, having the right resources in place to support the team and clients with understanding and managing recruitment and induction, managing onboarding of all new starters.
- Oversight of all contracting and HR obligations for our employees, including clients using the Hive service – onboarding, exit processes and everything in between
- Oversight of all processes in Hive to ensure smooth. operations. With Hive being new, and growing, processes and policies will need to be reviewed and adapted to Hive’s needs.
- Setup and maintain reporting systems that allow risk management and managing end of contract responsibilities.
- Manage all HR queries and issues for the team and clients.
- Oversight of monthly payroll and salary sacrifice schemes.
- Management and Teamwork (10%)
- Management of the Operations team: Managing capacity and workload, objective setting and development.
- Work with the rest of the team to ensure there is sharing of knowledge to improve systems and practice across all services, making sure the services are aligned.
- Work alongside and support the full team to ensure we are delivering the vision and strategy
- Client work (10%)
- Consult with our clients on any of the above operations, processes and governance as needed.

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Grants Fundraiser to join our highly successful Grants team at an exciting time for WWT.
As Grants Fundraiser you will manage a wide funder portfolio of charitable trust, statutory and Lottery grant partners, with a combined value in excess of £1M and supporting a range of high-impact and innovative programmes across the UK.
The Grants Team make a major contribution to raising critical funding for high-impact and innovative conservation, education and community-focussed programmes in the UK and internationally, raising in excess of £3M p/a. This is an exciting opportunity to maximise the potential of key relationships with a range of UK grant funders. The successful candidate will help influence the development of key projects to ensure projects are aligned with strategy and create compelling funding proposals.
The role is a permanent full time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role is based at our Slimbridge office and suitable for hybrid working, with around one to two days a week required in the office. Occasional travel will be required to sites or funder meetings, so a driver's licence is desirable.
