What we’re looking for

An experienced Legacy and In Memory fundraising or marketing professional with a proven track record of developing and implementing campaigns aimed at creating legacy awareness, securing legacy pledges and increasing in memory donations for the Macular Society.

You’ll be familiar with and comfortable analysing data and insights that inform decision making and approaches towards legacy and in memory marketing, ensuring these activities are well targeted and effective, using a range of channels.

Once secured, you’ll also be passionate about providing the best possible supporter care and experience, bringing people closer to the cause and encouraging ongoing support.

Leading a team of two experienced Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Officers, you’ll support this talent by providing opportunities for learning and development and will embed a positive culture of high support and challenge.

We are investing in this new position in order to centralise those diverse admin responsibilities, with the Income and Finance Liaison Senior Officer taking full ownership of the associated processes and deliverables, and helping to establish "best practice" to support the Charity in our next growth phase.

The Income and Finance Liaison Senior Officer will contribute to the growth of upReach by working across the Income Generation and Finance teams contributing to a wide range of income and finance related activities. You will support the teams to meet income targets and deliver the 2024-27 strategic plan.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will work closely with the Director of Finance, CEO, Finance and Programmes teams, and colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team;  supporting them to meet financial targets, provide excellent stewardship and to  implement key administrative and financial processes. 

The core responsibilities include: 

Income generation and External Engagement

• Ownership of a range of administrative tasks, including stewarding of donors and partners and support of the Development Board.

• Promptly addressing incoming queries from supporters and partners, including email, telephone and post; assist the team by managing;

  • Departmental email inboxes

  • Prioritising requests and responding where appropriate

• Oversee the management of contracts with partners and funders; generate, issue and follow up in a timely fashion.

• Support the timely production of monthly management reports.

• Play a key role in the complaints procedures for the department and conduct full investigations where needed.

• Work with the team to ensure all relevant data is created and maintained regularly and accurately on the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database.

• Keep on top of developments, changes in trends and patterns, new techniques and legislation. 

Finance

• Act as the key liaison point between the income generation and finance team.

• Work with Finance to identify and find solutions to bottlenecks in the purchase order, invoicing and payment process.

• Ensure that money coming into the charity can be identified and coded accurately on the CRM database and finance systems.

• Create and maintain accurate records in the finance system, including billing values, timings and dates.

Team Working

• Work with colleagues across the department and organisation.

• Lead and support rotatees (Team members on the Graduate scheme) and volunteers as required.

• Ensure upReach promotes a high performance culture and professional integrity.

• Support the implementation of business improvement and people development initiatives.

The Role:

We have a newly created opportunity for a Head of Income Generation to join ELF as a senior leader within our charity. You will be responsible for setting and delivering our fundraising strategy and achieving income targets in line with our objectives. The Person:

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working in a fundraising position and driving an income-generation strategy. You will have demonstrable success in securing gifts from a range of donors and in building excellent relationships, with colleagues, donors and beneficiaries. You’ll come with substantial experience in applying for grants from a range of sources and in securing legacy pledges.

The ideal candidate will have a proven knowledge of fundraising principles and of the Fundraising Regulator and Charity Commission guidelines. You’ll be experienced in using fundraising databases and data segmentation to identify and develop prospect lists. Exceptional attention to detail and a good working knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles are required.

As our Head of Income Generation, you will be highly motivated with the ability to find pragmatic solutions, seek improvements and adapt to changing situations. You’ll share ELF’s passion in supporting cancer patients and their families.

Experience working in a medical charity would be desirable, but we will consider candidates from a variety of charitable backgrounds. Team leadership experience would be beneficial. A fundraising qualification would be useful, although not essential.

This role can is offered on either a full-time or part-time basis. We can be flexible with how the hours sit across the week to fit in with your schedule, however we do ask that the role holder works during core hours and has some flexibility to occasionally attend events and fundraisers outside of working hours. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week based in the Marsh Barton office.

At Future Frontiers, we support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to realise their potential at school and achieve post-16 qualifications that build towards secure, fulfilling employment.

A colleague in the Operations team will be taking maternity leave from late 2024 for approximately 10 months. We are looking for a new team member to join us in late November for a period of handover with the current Finance and Operations Officer, and then to support the Director of Operations during our colleague’s maternity leave.

The Donor Relations Officer is a key role within the Development Office at the University of London. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a best practice programme of stewardship, donor engagement and recognition for the University of London’s donors, ensuring sustainability and growth of the donor base. Overall purpose

The Head of Corporate Partnerships is a key leadership role within the Income and Engagement Directorate. Breaking Barriers’ relationship with corporate partners is the USP upon which our growth and success as an organisation has been built. The Head of Corporate Partnerships has accountability for generating income, impact and influence from the private sector, and for leading a high-performing team to achieve ambitious growth and scale for refugees around the UK.

As Breaking Barriers has grown from a start-up organisation to a now 60-strong team raising c. £4m and supporting more than 1,200 refugees annually, our corporate partnerships have expanded beyond our original London base to be nationwide partnerships with a wide range of businesses and employers. Our corporate partners have been crucial in enabling our growth and will be crucial to delivering upon the ambition of our 2030 goals. The Head of Corporate Partnerships is an essential role that will make this ambition a reality.

You will lead a team to deliver outstanding partnerships management of a range of strategic and multi-faceted relationships with a portfolio of c.50 businesses alongside leading strategy for business development. As Managing Director, you will provide strategic leadership for the charity’s Donor Advised Fund in the UK, driving its growth, ensuring operational excellence. This is a permanent full-time/part-time (min 3 days) role, home based within the UK with travel to Bradford at least one day a week.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have excellent relationship management skills and be comfortable articulating the vision and mission of the charity to prospective donors (high net worths, business owners and leaders). You will have gravitas and be able to represent the charity at functions, networking events and be comfortable presenting. A passion and understanding of the charity sector and  in particular, the Islamic landscape will be an advantage.  Internally , you will be creative and have experience of developing and refining business and customer experience. Your strong leadership skills will allow you to drive projects forward and inspire the team you will oversee. Experience in budgeting, fundraising and investment oversight as well as knowledge of UK charity laws and regulations will be an advantage.

The Local Storytelling Exchange is seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with the Executive Director to drive forward the scale and pace of impact at the Exchange.

This person will be a creative individual with an entrepreneurial mindset. Excited about joining a start-up, they will be strategic and analytical, with a strong understanding of where storytelling can make the biggest public and political impact. A background in strategic communications and / or climate policy is desirable, but a strong track record in project management and ideas development is key. They will enjoy testing new ideas, evaluating success and developing new partnerships and opportunities. A self-starter, they will be a quick learner, able to take initiative and lead the effective delivery of programmes.

A clear grasp of the power of stories will be crucial to the success of this role.

Lady Margaret Hall is seeking a motivated, confident and passionate Donor Relations Officer to join the Development Team and ensure we deliver excellent stewardship to our donors.

This appointment is a fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. Hours and days are negotiable. The Development Team are hybrid working with three days per week based in the office. The position includes some out of hours work for event attendance for which TOIL will be given.

The Role:

As a Database Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Data & Appeals Manager by ensuring our supporter and contact database (Raiser's Edge) is effectively maintained and up to date. You will assist the wider Development team with reports and queries, help manage fundraising data and ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor information.

Main responsibilities:

Assist in the daily management of the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring data accuracy through regular audits.

Provide training and advice to colleagues on database access and usage, ensuring compliance with best practices.

Reconcile and process donations from various sources, including BACS, credit cards, and online platforms.

Run direct debit and gift aid claims, ensuring valid documentation is maintained.

Provide key data and segmentation for fundraising appeals and emails, working closely with the communications team.

Essential requirements:

• Experience in CRM systems (preferably Raiser's Edge) and proficiency in MS Excel.
• Demonstrable experience supporting charities and fundraising teams in a data role
• Confident working with large datasets
• Solid understanding of GDPR and data confidentiality.
• Excellent communicator, a team player, and have a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent time management skills, able to prioritise daily tasks and manage deadlines.
