This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, dynamic, and professional fundraiser to lead the team at Treloar’s. As the Director of Fundraising, you will develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies, oversee a dedicated and passionate team and support them in generating significant income through a variety of channels, including trusts and foundations, events, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and major donations.
We are looking for someone with a strong track record in senior-level charitable fundraising. You should bring advanced knowledge of a wide variety of fundraising channels, compliance expertise, and exceptional leadership skills. Experience in the education or disability sectors and relevant qualifications in fundraising are advantageous.

Medact brings together health workers to fight for health justice. We recognise that health injustice is driven by political, social and economic conditions, and we mobilise the health community to take action to achieve systemic change, working together towards a fairer, better, safer world.
We address some of the most pressing national and global threats to health and wellbeing including climate change, human rights abuses, militarism, nuclear weapons, institutional racism, and rising health and social inequality. Medact has grown significantly over the last five years and is in an exciting new period as an organisation. As we develop our next five-year strategy we are looking to refine our campaigning and organising practice and grow our membership base to secure long lasting victories in our campaigns for health justice.
About the role
The new Executive Director will be responsible for leading the organisation in developing a new strategy to guide us through the next phase growth, while leading the team through an new political climate.
Grants fundraising is of particular importance to the role, and the successful candidate will be the lead person responsible for securing funding for our campaigning and organising work and maintaining strong relationships with donors.
Our Executive Director will lead an experienced team and an organisation that deeply values collaborative working, consultative decision making, and a commitment to transparency.
About you
We are looking for someone who is passionate about addressing health, climate, racial and economic injustice and the health impacts of conflict and militarisation, and who understands the vital role that health professionals have in making the connections between these issues and working for peace, to make the world a better, fairer and safer place.
You will have an understanding of the national and international framework within which Medact operates, and you will be able to demonstrate that your values and politics align with those of our organisation. Ideally you will have experience of working in health or with health workers, so that you have an appreciation of the culture within which they work and the potential of their contribution.
You will have strong leadership skills so that, valuing the collaborative approach of our team and respecting varying views, you are able to arrive at clear decisions. You will also have a track record in fundraising in similar fields and a good knowledge of a range of potential supporters.

The Associate Director of Local Fundraising is a senior role within the Income, Innovation and Engagement directorate; a highly ambitious and professional team which is working to grow income and strengthen the organisation’s voice across the UK as the leading end of life care charity in the UK. Marie Curie has ambitious financial growth targets and needs to drive net contribution, engagement and awareness if they are to achieve their fundraising ambitions and subsequently their service growth goals.
The primary focus of the role is to maximise the net contribution from local fundraising but also to drive community awareness and engagement with Marie Curie. This is a key role for Marie Curie, responsible for managing a team of over 100 people and having responsibility for over £20 million Income, the recruitment of legacy prospects, the delivery of fundraising events and the strategic approach of supporter facing volunteers.
The Fundraising teams based in communities across the UK are responsible for raising money, driving legacy sign ups, building event participation and profit and growing awareness and engagement of the need for and impact of the charity’s work amongst supporters and people who have the potential to support Marie Curie. With all local relationships managed by this role’s teams, the post will ensure that supporters have a connected, seamless experience.
The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in a fundraising environment with a successful track record in increasing voluntary income or revenue. They will also have experience in developing both annual operational and three-year strategic plans, developing creative and innovative solutions and digital marketing and in working with working with volunteers and engaging local communities. This will be combined with a proven track record in managing large high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.

Accountabilities
1. Strategic Partnerships Development:

Work closely with the senior leadership and development team to embed a long-term partnerships strategy.

Take overall responsibility for Big Change’s income, driving the growth of a portfolio of partners that sets us up to achieve our mission, pre-empting and thoughtfully managing any tension between commercial and impact drivers.

Qualify, develop, and manage relationships with strategic partners across the system, including complementary delivery partners, trusts, foundations, businesses, non-profit organisations and governmental agencies.

Work with leaders in each area of the organisation to develop a strong model for partnerships linked to impact.

Lead the creation of partnerships that enable experimentation and launch new ventures and projects.

Negotiate and formalise partnership agreements that bring in resources, expertise, and influence to advance organisational goals.

2. Pipeline Development:

Design and execute a comprehensive income development plan that aligns with the organisation’s goals and priorities.

Lead on pursuits for funding opportunities through grants, major gifts, corporate sponsorships and other revenue streams.

Work closely with the finance, impact and community teams to align fundraising efforts with project needs and organisational priorities.

Track and report on fundraising progress, ensuring transparency and accountability in all pipeline development activities.

Deliver on annually agreed revenue targets without compromising the integrity of the charity.

Employ a robust control environment (e.g. policies and contract management), manage risks and implement risk mitigation strategies in relation to all fundraising and awareness raising activity.

Qualifications / experience

3+ years leading a high-performing strategic partnerships team, preferably within a philanthropic or non-profit organisation.

Understanding of approaching complex problems with systems change methodologies.
