We are seeking a Risk and Internal Audit Manager to lead our risk management and internal audit initiatives. This critical role involves developing a robust risk management framework, conducting thorough internal audits, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. About you

About the role
As the Risk and Internal Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our organisation by overseeing both risk management and internal audit operations. You will develop and manage CARE International UK’s risk management framework, maintain and update the organisation’s risk register, and provide regular risk management reports. You will also develop and execute an annual internal audit plan, ensuring compliance with recognised auditing standards. Your role involves coordinating with various CARE entities and overseeing specialist audits in areas like cybersecurity and GDPR. International travel will be required to support CARE International UK funded programmes.

Purpose of the role

Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) exists to relieve the suffering of British wildlife, to encourage respect and tolerance for wildlife and to further its conservation. SWWR strives to do this by:

Our Fundraising Manager is responsible for planning and preparing all fundraising and grants working alongside all departments to ensure projects are fulfilled from inception to fruition. As the Head of Communications, you will play a key role in amplifying UK-Med’s voice, supporting our fundraising efforts through strategic communications, and ensuring our message reaches the world’s most vulnerable people.
UK-Med has an ambitious five-year strategy (you can view it here) with a goal to generate £1 million per year from voluntary sources by 2026 to fund emergency responses and training for health staff. While fundraising remains under the purview of another department, your role will be crucial in crafting and delivering the communications that support these fundraising efforts. Our charity’s income is currently primarily statutory, and while we are relatively new to fundraising, our voluntary income has quadrupled year on year for the last three years. As Director of Services and Grants, you will be responsible for ensuring that our multi-channel services and grants programme serve and improve the lives of older people, reach those who are most likely to be in poverty, and have the maximum impact. You will help us grow our capacity, build our network of charity and commercial partnerships, develop our external training offer, and reach more people including those groups most likely to experience financial hardship.
Having operated at a senior level, ideally as part of a Senior Leadership Team, you will be an inspiring leader with a demonstrable passion for our cause. Experienced in successfully managing service transformation and development, including in a contact centre environment, you will also have an understanding of grants programmes, and of building strategic partnerships and national networks. With an understanding of demonstrating and reporting on impact, experience of supporting fundraising for services and bidding for contracts, you will ideally also have knowledge of developing an external training offer.

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, which you can choose to work over five days a week or a 9-day fortnight.

About the Role:
You’ll play a key role in supporting our work by ensuring smooth, high quality financial management and reporting. Working closely with the Head of GOF, you'll contribute to the success of our programmes by overseeing financial activities, audits and the improvement of financial processes.

What you’ll do:
- Lead on key financial activities, including management accounting, financial reporting, and grant audits.
- Support the operational aspects of grant management by ensuring effective financial planning and monitoring.
- Improve and streamline financial processes for greater efficiency.
- Manage complex funding arrangements, including grants from institutional donors, and ensure compliance with financial and donor requirements.
- Collaborate with teams across the organisation, using your financial insights to support decision-making.
What we're looking for:

- Are a qualified (or part-qualified) Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent) with proven management accounting experience, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Have experience managing budgets and financial information, especially in environments with complex funding.
- Are familiar with the financial management of grants from institutional donors, ideally within international aid or humanitarian settings.
- Understand risk management and audit processes.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both with financial and non-financial colleagues.
- Are skilled in Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Have a personal or professional interest in humanitarian or development sectors, demonstrated through academic studies, volunteering, or work experience.
Additional knowledge in grantee financial management, IATI standards, and accounting principles for charities would be a bonus, but not essential.

In this pivotal role as Initiatives Manager you will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of initiatives to support us in fulfilling our overarching goal of growing the UK workforce in our specialties of Clinical Radiology and Clinical Oncology, ensuring that quality and impact are at the heart of our plans.
With a focus on the strategic development side of the team you will cultivate information into initiatives such as the development of curricula or standards but also ongoing initiatives which will serve to increase routes into the workforce for both existing and emerging groups of doctors and allied health professionals. What you’ll do:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project officers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
