Our Careers Development Managers (CDMs) are the main point of contact for young people on our social mobility programmes. The main focus of the role is the recruitment, development and support of young people into meaningful careers.
CDMs create recruitment networks in their areas and lead bootcamps to improve their employability (e.g. interview techniques) and to enhance their personal and leadership abilities (e.g. critical thinking). Once young people are hired, CDMs use their established relationship to provide pastoral care and in-work support.
LTSB’s vision is A world where all young people can choose their careers, with an emphasis on improving the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to improving the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, and they have an excellent understanding of social mobility, diversity and inclusion issues, and how these factors impact young people.
LTSB does not have its own offices, so you will work remotely, but this role has significant in-person delivery expectations at partner organisations and corporate supporters, as well as occasion travel to our city hubs Birmingham, Liverpool, London, and Manchester. Position will require DBS Disclosure at enhanced level.

We are looking for someone to join our Public Fundraising Team as a Senior Challenge & Public Events Officer, to independently manage and have overall responsibility for leading on the planning and delivery of a pilot bespoke running event happening in May 2025.
The ideal candidate will have experience of project managing large-scale events with exceptional organisational skills; developing multi-channel marketing plans; developing and delivering complex stewardship journeys, and have strong relationship management skills.

This will be someone who is as comfortable sitting and engaging with our beneficiaries - primarily homeless people and those with previous convictions, as they are creating and delivering highly polished, compelling public event and funder and stakeholder-focussed presentations. We are looking for someone who understands the balance of external and internal focus required to ensure both good governance and team wellbeing (as they work in often challenging circumstances) and the ambition to keep developing existing and new external partnerships. With a strong start to its ambitious Corporate Partnership programme, commercial and/or business experience is highly desirable as well as a proven track record in creating and optimising new funding channels.

About Us
The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.
The role
Is leading the charity through its next phases of development as it prepares itself for year on year increases in demand with a focus on delivering the charity’s future resilience plan (Project 12/25). The CEO is accountable for overall charity performance (financial, operational, governance, compliance), team (paid and volunteer) support and development. Additionally, there are a wide range of community and external partner relationships to manage and develop. Ultimately this role sets the tone for the charity, one of both compassion and ambition to improve the lives of the people who need us. This is primarily an on-site role, with occasional opportunity to work flexibly.
About You
You have a stable CV that demonstrates you have built and led successful teams and enabled growth and/or transformation for your organisation – ideally in an equivalent charity/non-profit environment. You can evidence strong team leadership and results across a wide range of business functions which will need to include income generation, managing budgets and business operations. You live within - or know well, West/Central London, are passionate about improving the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people and can lead multi-functional teams through a blend of 121 coaching, training and ensuring a ‘we can do this’ culture across the charity. You are an accomplished and visionary public speaker and presenter, able to articulate both the journey we’re undertaking and the support/input we need to get there.

We are seeking an operational and people focussed Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our Executive Team. You will drive development of all financial and operational management, processes and reporting, overseeing the organisation’s day-to-day operations including the leadership of Finance, People, Governance, Fundraising, Marketing and Communications and Digital.
The successful candidate will have held broad finance and operations positions, with a track record of interacting at Board level and presenting clear financial and management information. You will have experience in implementing new and/or successful improvements to existing systems and processes, with a track record of driving organisational change. Ensuring that people are at the centre of the Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) you will play a key role within the Executive team supporting the charity to achieve sustainable growth and delivery of efficient and effective services ensuring plans are developed and implemented, and targets are met.

Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility
Operational Leadership and Governance
- Overall accountability for the operations of the foundation
- Oversee and optimise internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Evaluate and improve overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics
- Oversee robust risk management processes and protocols proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks
- Oversee the development of all necessary policies to ensure safe and healthy working environments
- Ensure FNF is compliant with all financial, tax, charity and legal requirements
Financial Management
- Oversee the development and monitoring of the financial strategy for the organisation, providing recommendations, information and guidance to the Trustees and Executive team to inform decision making
- Maintain and review polices and processes to ensure good financial controls are in place that meet both legal and tax requirements. This includes maintaining appropriate records and controls over restricted funds to ensure that these are used and reported appropriately
- Support the Finance Manager and Executive team in setting FNF’s annual budget, with robust analysis and justification of intended expenditure, financial forecasts, cashflow etc. securing active engagement and ownership from all internal budget holders
- Oversee the financial reports required to review progress against plans and forecasts throughout the year and ensuring these are disseminated and understood across the organisation
- Accountable for regular financial updates to Trustees including the Finance Investment Committee (FIC) and Board meetings along with the preparation of the financial aspects of the annual report and accounts
- Oversee the management and development of VAT reporting for FNF and trading subsidiary
- Oversee the financial aspect of FNF Global delivery to ensure compliance with HMRC
Systems and controls
- Lead in the development, implementation and monitoring of effective procurement systems and procedures, ensuring that FNF achieves best value and drives efficiencies through our external contracts
- Lead on the annual audit in accordance with current practice and the Charity Commissions Standard of Recommended Practice (SORP), liaising and managing the relationship with the auditors
- Oversee the operation of the payroll process and related HMRC contract ensuring that payments are made in an accurate and timely way
- Work with the Finance Committee to manage the investments for FNF, overseeing regular reviews of the investment policy and portfolio, liaising with external partners as necessary
Fundraising, Events, Marketing and Communications
- Provide leadership around income generation, making sure that this is located within the strategic framework and day to day thinking of the Foundation
- Provide leadership and direction for Marketing and Communications, ensuring that overall plans are in support of our strategic objectives
- Ensure all income generation activities from within this team are fully integrated across the Foundation, recognising the importance of inter departmental relationships

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.
Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]
- Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme
- Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room
- Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively

Purpose of Role

The Child and Family Specialist will work in partnership with schools, children and families to assess and respond to the psychological needs of children experiencing social, emotional, mental health or behavioural difficulties through undertaking assessments and providing interventions. The post-holder will also: provide specialist advice and support to school staff in the identification of mental health needs of children and accessing appropriate resources; and actively contribute to outcome monitoring and service improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a commissioned service delivering direct interventions for young people and their families. The post-holder will offer a range of clinical activities to address mental health needs in children and young people, including direct individual and group work with young people and parents/carers and joint work with other professionals. We are excited to be recruiting a Philanthropy Manager to join our Fundraising Team. Do you have experience of engaging positively with vulnerable young people or other vulnerable groups with understanding and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation
If so, St Giles is looking for a Senior Caseworker to join our dynamic, high-performing team and provide expert Case Management and support to a Caseworker and Volunteers.

About this vital role
Leading by example, as Senior Caseworker you will be the day-to-day expert within the team, be a positive role model to the team of caseworkers and escalate concerns to the Team Leader or Service Manager. You will work with – and advocate for - young people and their families at risk of youth violence in residential settings and provide vital support, advice and advocacy using a strength-based approach, which will also include working through person-centred support plans designed to promote choice and control.
We will also count on you to deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, where you will provide a practical service that will include social and housing support, ETE options, benefits work, debt advice, appearing in court, and DIY work. Ensuring, on a day-to-day basis, all monitoring information and evidence is being recorded and collated in line with agreed processes, is also a key element of this role, as is developing and maintaining strong working relationships with partner agencies.
What we are looking for
- Extensive experience of using support plans
- Proven track record of providing support, advice and advocacy to young people
- Experience in working as part of a multi-agency team in a high intensity environment
- To have a relevant qualification to a good standard or be working towards one
- A knowledge of Housing Legislation for Young People
- Strong IT, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- A flexible, professional and collaborative approach to your work
