How would you contribute to Cycle Sisters’ mission?
Cycle Sisters has grown hugely over the past few years, with an expanded range of programmes and activity. We are keen to continue this journey of growth and have just finalised a new strategy for 2024-2027 which prioritises reaching more women and girls, and ensuring our financial sustainability.
The Fundraising Lead will play a critical role in supporting our ‘sustainability' strategic priority to ensure Cycle Sisters can access the resources it needs to keep making a difference. This post-holder will lead on growing Cycle Sisters’ unrestricted income, with a focus on community fundraising and corporate partnerships.
The post-holder will need to be an excellent networker, confident in representing the organisation externally and able to motivate a range of stakeholders to financially support Cycle Sisters’ work.
What would you be doing?
Below is a list of responsibilities which provide a broad outline of the role. This is not an exhaustive list as Cycle Sisters is a small team which requires flexibility.
This is a new part-time role and we will work with the successful candidate to develop a workplan which is realistic within the hours available. There will also be support from other team members on some of the areas of work.
General responsibilities

Develop strategies to achieve income targets across the areas outlined below

Ensure all fundraising initiatives are properly planned, delivered, monitored and evaluated. All activities should be conducted in adherence to best practice, Cycle Sisters’ ethical policy and charity law.

Work with the Communications & Media Lead to create compelling fundraising messages and materials for a range of audiences

Work collaboratively with other team members in Cycle Sisters to maximise all opportunities for fundraising
Individual Giving and Community Fundraising

Oversee event/challenge fundraising, liaising closely with volunteer fundraisers to maximise income and ensure fundraisers feel valued and appreciated

Work with the Communications & Media Lead to ensure donors feel valued and appreciated

Develop and implement a regular giving strategy, helping us to progress donors from one-off to regular giving

Work with the CEO to develop a “membership” scheme to generate regular income from Cycle Sisters’ participant network with incentives and benefits for members

Work with an external agency to secure income through digital fundraising
Corporate Fundraising
Working closely with the CEO:

Develop relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring partners feel valued and are receiving regular updates

Research and identify new corporate fundraising prospects. Develop relationships through networking and representing Cycle Sisters externally.

Create tailored packages to secure in-kind and financial support from corporate partners

Develop ideas for earned income services for corporate partners e.g. led rides

About the role:
We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Working with the CEO to deliver effective day-to-day operations for the organisation, managing the Operational Excellence Workstream and our approach to Quality.

Essential knowledge, skills & experience include:
- Previous experience in a Senior Operations management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit setting
- Strong leadership qualities to lead operations and fulfil an executive function
- Reliable with a high level of discretion and integrity – able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters

Purpose of Role
- To understand Ramblers’ audience behaviours by analysing customer data
- To design and implement data solutions to drive revenue growth, supporter engagement, membership acquisition, retention and lifetime value from new and existing audiences
- To deliver secure, easily interpreted, and accessible information to staff members and volunteers about the Ramblers members, supporters, groups, walks and accounts.

Key responsibilities
- Drive the organisation to use data in its operations, using first party and third-party data sources to facilitate more informed and reliable decision making.
- Working in collaboration with teams across the organisation (particularly Income and Marketing) to develop and implement data driven approaches to income generation with a particular focus on quantitative modelling and testing.
- Working with internal Digital and IT teams, ensure information flows between systems (Salesforce, the Data Warehouse, Marketing Cloud etc) in an accurate and timely manner, to ensure our supporters receive the best possible service and we have a full view of their activities when planning our own.
- Ensure our data insights platform provides volunteers with understandable and easy to use information for all aspects of administering their Area(s)/Group(s).
- Lead on developing and improving new processes and automations to save organisational time and resources through digital technology to drive quicker and more optimised outcomes.
- Maintain accurate supporter information in an accessible and secure way through IT systems such as the CRM and Data Warehouse in accordance with data and charity legislation.
- Develop and present modelling an analysis of supporters through more targeted and personalised communication utilising modern statistical analysis techniques.
- Create and maintain processes allowing for self-service of simple or regularly scheduled selections by staff members.
- Develop a robust and efficient audience segmenting and selection process for more complicated selections in a timely manner, considering appropriate targeting, efficient messaging, and other comms activity.
- Work closely with marketing, operations, and other teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that inform campaigns, initiatives, and overall strategy.

About the role:
The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. We are seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Officer to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner experience. This is an opportunity for an early career professional to learn about charity-business partnerships in a dynamic, small charity which is flexible and agile.
Reporting to our Corporate Partnerships Manager, but also working closely with our Business Development Manager, you’ll support them both to deliver our annual volunteer targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (currently 88%). This will involve supporting both the identification, acquisition, and onboarding of new partners, but also the account management of a portfolio of existing partners.

About the Role
We are recruiting a Standards Officer to join our small and friendly Standards team.
The role of the Standards function is to monitor newspaper, magazine and digital publishers’ compliance with the Editors’ Code of Practice and to take action to address concerns about editorial standards, including by undertaking investigations into serious standards failures as necessary. It’s a busy team that coordinates closely with others at IPSO and outside the organisation, engaging with members of the public, journalists, and experts on a wide variety of subjects. Some recent issues that the standards team has worked on are reporting of sexual offences, suicide, major incidents, and domestic abuse.
As the Standards Officer, you will carry out a range of tasks, including analysing information drawn from complaints received by IPSO, supporting the annual statements process and engaging with a range of representative groups who have concerns about press reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Standards and other colleagues across IPSO.
About You
This is a role for someone who is interested in news and journalism, has excellent communication and analytical skills, and enjoys working with others to achieve a shared purpose. Candidates who demonstrate relevant experience will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their skills through a written exercise prior to short-listing for interview. This means that we can measure candidates’ relevant skills directly and make a fairer decision on which applications to take forward.

The Local Storytelling Exchange is seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with the Executive Director to drive forward the scale and pace of impact at the Exchange.
This person will be a creative individual with an entrepreneurial mindset. Excited about joining a start-up, they will be strategic and analytical, with a strong understanding of where storytelling can make the biggest public and political impact. A background in strategic communications and / or climate policy is desirable, but a strong track record in project management and ideas development is key. They will enjoy testing new ideas, evaluating success and developing new partnerships and opportunities. A self-starter, they will be a quick learner, able to take initiative and lead the effective delivery of programmes.
A clear grasp of the power of stories will be crucial to the success of this role.
These skills can have been acquired anywhere, but a commitment to environmental action is a must. What's most important is a genuine interest in the mission of the Exchange, the power of stories to catalyse progress on climate change, and a passion for addressing climate change in an inclusive, strategic way.
