As the Finance Officer, you'll be working closely with both the Finance and Fundraising teams, ensuring seamless income reconciliation and supporting the ongoing development of a new CRM system launching in February 2025.
What You’ll Do:
- Administer and process all incoming donations, including from their website, postal, phone, and third-party platforms like JustGiving and Enthuse.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure donations are coded correctly and help prepare Gift Aid claims.
- Provide top-notch supporter care, managing donor correspondence and maintaining donor records.
- Assist with the design and maintenance of the CRM database for effective data selection and reporting.
- Support the Finance Team with income reconciliation and administrative duties.

The Role:
As a Database Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Data & Appeals Manager by ensuring our supporter and contact database (Raiser's Edge) is effectively maintained and up to date. You will assist the wider Development team with reports and queries, help manage fundraising data and ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor information.
Main responsibilities:
Assist in the daily management of the Raiser's Edge database, ensuring data accuracy through regular audits.
Provide training and advice to colleagues on database access and usage, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Reconcile and process donations from various sources, including BACS, credit cards, and online platforms.
Run direct debit and gift aid claims, ensuring valid documentation is maintained.
Provide key data and segmentation for fundraising appeals and emails, working closely with the communications team.
Essential requirements:
- Experience in CRM systems (preferably Raiser's Edge) and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Demonstrable experience supporting charities and fundraising teams in a data role
- Confident working with large datasets
- Solid understanding of GDPR and data confidentiality.
- Excellent communicator, a team player, and have a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent time management skills, able to prioritise daily tasks and manage deadlines.

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Finance Director in the delivery of the organisation’s financial objectives and is expected to contribute to the financial culture, strategy and development of the organisation. Key areas of responsibility:
- Management and operation of financial control framework including maintenance of the policies and procedures that support its effective operation
- Leading the Financial Accounts Team (currently 4 staff) with 2 direct reports
- Producing the annual statutory accounts and leading the statutory audit process for the CIUK Group (comprising the UK charity and its trading subsidiary)
- Managing efficient and effective treasury management including robust and timely cash flow forecasting
- Supervising the controls and processes that support effective management of the balance sheet including balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing good quality accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Managing tax for the charity and trading subsidiary including VAT returns and Gift Aid
- Providing financial accounting advice to colleagues across the organisation in line with the requirement of the Charity SORP
Who are we looking for?
- A formally qualified accountant with relevant experience of financial accounting gained in a complex organisation
- Someone with experience of producing year end statutory accounts in Charities SORP format, preparing and adhering to year end timelines and being a key point of contact for auditors
- An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organisation
- Analytical with good judgement and decision making capability

To be successful in this role, you should have experience in casework, policy, or regulatory project delivery, with proven communication skills—both written and verbal. You must be able to interpret complex information, report it clearly to senior colleagues, and adapt your communication style to suit different audiences. Strong investigative skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders alongside being comfortable working both independently and proactively, as well as in a team environment.
While not essential, knowledge of the charity sector would be highly desirable. Familiarity with the Code of Fundraising Practice, along with a basic technical understanding of CRM systems, would be beneficial. Strong project management skills, particularly in planning, reporting, and delivering objectives, will further enhance your success in this role.

The Role
Support the delivery of grant programmes for individuals experiencing financial insecurity, ensuring dignity, safety and equity across our programmes.
Assist grant recipients and applicants to access tools and information to support income maximisation.
Build positive, effective, and impactful relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners in line with the values.
Share responsibility for the integration and continued best practice in data protection, safeguarding, EDIB and co-production across our programmes and partnerships.
Engage in projects, activities and ways of working that support the development and delivery of integrated programmes and help to shift power to people and communities experiencing financial insecurity.
The Candidate
Case management experience.
An understanding of the impact of financial insecurity on people living in the UK and how this can vary as a result of systemic, institutional and societal discrimination.
Knowledge of the key principles of good project and programme management.
An understanding of data protection and GDPR.
Demonstrable understanding and commitment to promote and embed Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.
Minimum of basic safeguardingknowledge.
Desirable
Knowledge of the UK grant-making sector.

Location: London. Hybrid working (2 days office-based)
Salary: £30,000 - £36,000
As Senior Education Officer you will support the development, delivery and evaluation of the Society’s education programme. This includes organising online and in person training sessions and coordinating the development and maintenance of online education resource.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining an overview of Society education projects and providing input as required
- Playing a key role in the development and delivery of the Society’s education programmes (online and in person events, online learning resources). This includes preparation of minutes and agendas, following up on action points and organising committee meetings as well as administering the events programme.
- Working on developing the e-learning platform and ensuring that the education pages of the website are kept up to date, working with editors to approve and add images and case reports, including the adding of internal and external meetings and new educational resources.
- Dealing with phone and email queries related to education and events.
- Acting as the main interface between the Committee and the professional conference organiser.
- Supporting the production of the Annual Scientific Meeting for example proofreading of documents, and user acceptance testing of online functionality such as registration and abstract systems, interactive programme and conference app.
The successful candidate will have experience in project management, event logistics and management, both online and in person and will be happy working with third party suppliers, as well as volunteers, with the ability to work with a diverse range of people at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key as is experience of CMS and updating websites. Experience working with e-learning platforms/LMS would be beneficial but is not crucial.
