The Role: As the Refuge Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored emotional and practical support to women and children living in our refuge. In this role you will support the Philanthropy Manager and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships in securing new four and five figure multi-year gifts from individuals. Overall purpose

This is a key role that will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, Head of Public Engagement and Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

You will contribute to the implementation of our communications, engagement and fundraising strategies, ensuring that your work is anchored in our organisational and team strategic goals. You will also be closely involved in team planning, whether it’s inputting into our operational plan or sharing ideas for new campaigns.

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.  

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. AAFDA’s prime function is to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

As a growing charity, AAFDA is looking for an exceptional candidate to join our supportive team and lead our finance and resource management functions. The role will provide and manage the HR, administration and finance activities of the charity and sit within the Senior Leadership Team.

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

The South East Rivers Trust (SERT) has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is keen to gain more experience in river and catchment enhancement work - making a positive, lasting difference to the aquatic environment in the south east of England.

The Role

The Water and Land Stewardship Team (W&LS) lead the identification and delivery of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to improve rivers and catchments across the South East. Through evidence, stakeholder engagement and on-the-ground experience, this new senior role will lead and develop NbS project opportunities. You will aim for impact, scale and collaboration.

You will be responsible for delivering projects to scale up NbS across the SERT area, and lead the ‘South East demos’ for the Ofwat Innovation Mainstreaming Nature-based Solutions project, a flagship five-year innovation project with water industry partners across the UK. Working with colleagues at SERT to deliver NbS measures on the ground will give you the opportunity to make a real difference, using this to help regulators and policy makers address barriers and build enablers for NbS at scale.

You will lead walkovers, report on project opportunities identified, and develop projects on the ground, including natural flood management, riparian corridor enhancement and land management to increase catchment resilience. You will work closely with land managers to co-design feasible NbS options delivering multiple benefits. Your recommendations will be informed by data and evidence, and part of your role will be contributing to the effective collation of this across the Trust and the region. This will include identifying and reviewing nature market opportunities including through Biodiversity Net Gain, water resource, natural flood management and water quality, and you will look to capitalise on these opportunities and find ways to combine them with public funding (e.g. developing agri-environment schemes) to develop blended funding approaches. Working with our regional water companies, you will use your understanding of their drivers and processes to find ways of delivering more nature-based solutions with them in our catchments, building on existing relationships and projects within the Trust and the wider Rivers Trust movement.

Crucially, you will take a collaborative partnership approach, building close relationships with our regional water companies, farmer clusters and other NGOs as well as regulators and local authorities, and provide a vision for these stakeholder groups to drive improvement of our rivers and catchments. 

This role is varied and allows for an individual to take ownership for their own projects, seeking and developing resolutions whilst working collaboratively with several organisations and individuals, as well as learn new skills and grow within a supported environment. You will be personable and inquisitive, enjoy working with evidence, be able to explain technical concepts in simple terms, engage positively with partners, and be passionate about rivers and the environment.

While the role covers the entire SERT area, we expect to develop a geographic focus towards either the East (Sussex, Kent) or West (Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey).

As a Playground Coordinator you will be supporting disabled young people and their families by coordinating the delivery of an adventure play service at Lady Allen Playground. This is a great opportunity to develop your existing skills in a rewarding role and gain a strong sense of achievement. 

Working context: 

• You will be required to work variable/unsociable hours including evenings and Saturdays 
• Based on playground sites outside of regular office hours 
• You will be required to work from a second playground site (Chelsea Playground) on occasion 
• Managing a flexible workforce 

Key responsibilities: 

• To manage and supervise staff in the provision of the service 
• Brief staff effectively so they provide a positive play experience 
• Make sure there is a programme of activities that provide children with choices and opportunity for different play and social activities 
• Respond to and develop play episodes with children and other play practitioners  
• Take responsibility for providing 1-1 support for children with a range of disabilities 
• Keep written children records up to date and accurate 
• Demonstrate and record that children are involved in the development and planning of the playground 
• Effectively recruit and prepare play staff to undertake the requirements of the role 
• Co-ordinate and take management responsibilities for external visits and outings 
• To assist the Manager with the physical responsibilities of the playground including site inspections, maintenance, renewals and utilities.  
• To be aware of the budgets and the management of them 
• Make sure the playground meets regulatory requirements including Ofsted, H&S and Quality in Play.  
• Liaise on operational level with relevant Local Authority officers 
• Attend relevant regional and KIDs meetings 
• Participation in your own supervision and Continuing Professional Development 
• Within the post there is an agreed level of decision making responsibility in the delivery of the service especially in the absence of the Manager.  

To be able to carry out this role it is essential that you have the following characteristics: 

• Significant experience of working with disabled children in a play setting 
• Knowledge of disabilities/ impairments and impact on child and family members 
• Ability to engage and support children in a variety of play experiences without supervision 
• Experience of implementing an activity programme 
• Experience of coaching and mentoring sessional workers in areas of good practice 
• Understanding of current Safeguarding processes 
• Ability to work on your own and problem solve with little input from line managers 
• The capacity to undertake, when required, the range of management, development, administrative and liaison duties.  
• Good numeracy and literacy skills 
• Computer literate- good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite  
• Excellent range of communication skills with children, parents and other professionals.

This role is for 22 hours per week. It can be combined with our Young People's Wellbeing Co-ordinator role to create a 34 hour per week role. Joining our Information & Support Team, you'll provide crucial assistance to those in need during challenging times. You'll provide personalised support by offering a compassionate ear, sharing relevant information, and directing individuals to the resources they need.

Our Support Line Officers may not be counsellors or medically trained, but they are dedicated to delivering a professional service and providing reassurance during difficult times. Whilst this role can at times, be challenging due to the nature of the calls, the fulfilment that comes from making a positive impact on someone's life makes this role incredibly rewarding.

Contract: Permanent Full Time (35 hours per week)

Hours: Between 8am and 6pm including weekends and public holidays on a rota basis

Based: This role can be based anywhere in the UK, however, candidates living within a commutable distance to Bocum Park, Bridgend, Wales will have the option to work Hybrid

In this role, you will:

• Respond to a variety of enquiries from individuals affected by terminal illness, as well as their families, friends, or professionals. These inquiries may range from practical matters concerning finances or legal arrangements to accessing Marie Curie services, as well as emotional concerns such as grief and loss.
• Utilise the resources available through the Marie Curie Information and Support Service, along with other trusted sources primarily online, you will address inquiries, gather information, and direct individuals to the support they require. This may involve communication via phone, web chat, and other channels, as well as moderating our online community and undertaking additional project work to enhance our service.
• Apply relevant safeguarding procedures when required, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the individuals contacting the helpline.
• Accurately record information into the database, ensuring data quality and date protection guidelines.

What we are looking for:

• You need to have excellent communication skills, a warm heart and a caring and compassionate soul.
• A genuine interest in helping others, you are patient, adaptable and know how to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• This role can be challenging at times, if you are patient, resilient and a great listener, you will excel in this role.
• Whilst this role will see you spend a considerable amount of time on the phone, there is also an administrative element, so a background in office administration would certainly be beneficial.
• Ideally you will come from a charity, health or social care background or have demonstrable customer service experience from another industry (such as a contact centre)
• Experience in a customer care / helpline or telephone support role is beneficial.

We are looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to support the Head of Membership Engagement in the overall development and delivery of commercial revenue streams at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. This will include all current sponsorship for conferences, including our flagship Fundraising Convention, corporate membership, and strategic partnerships. 

Job purpose:

• Recruiting, retaining, and developing corporate members.
• Identifying and securing new sponsors and exhibitors for the Chartered Institute’s event business, including one-day conferences, webinars, and Fundraising Convention.
• To identify, secure, and nurture long-term strategic partnerships.

​Key Accountabilities

• Work and support the Head of Membership Engagement across the following income streams:
  • Fundraising Convention: Responsible for the overall management of expo – planning, sales and invoicing;
  • Fundraising Convention sponsorship: lead on this and assist the Executive Director when required;
  • One-day conference sponsorship and expo: to be partnership lead on day-to-day conference sponsorship sales including print advertising;
• Develop partnership support for the strategic objectives of the Chartered Institute;
• Work with the Membership Team, supporting all areas of membership where required;
• Strategic corporate partnerships: Work with key clients and provide support for the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s portfolio of events, including Group events.

Business Development

• To be client-focused and visible in the marketplace with sponsors and supporters.

• To work with the Head of Membership Engagement and Executive Team to highlight potential new partners and create a strategy to increase support from existing customers.

• To collate all materials and information from all Fundraising Convention sponsors.
• To manage the Convention expo pack and any administrative requirements of Fundraising Convention exhibitors.
• To attend Fundraising Convention and provide administrative support to all sponsors, exhibitors and partners as required.
• To be responsible for the overall management of the Fundraising Convention exhibition, including planning, sales, and invoicing.

Job Summery:

The Research Grants Officer’s role is to support the Research team to ensure that The Charity effectively delivers our Research Strategy: Accelerating a Cure and our grant programme.

You will assist with all aspects of pre and post award grant management, and help further the delivery of our Research Strategy. 

��Location: While contracted to our office in Fleet, Hampshire, our team supports a blend of office and home working provided you have adequate broadband and IT capability, with an average of 2-3 days in the office each week.

⏰Working hours: This role is 37.5 hours per week, with some out of hours working.

��Annual salary: £31,200 (dependent on level)

Who we're looking for:

With an enthusiasm and passion for the work of The Brain Tumour Charity you will have a strong understanding of medical research and its funding. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), a keen eye for details and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. We also welcome applications from brain tumour relevant researchers, looking for a new direction.

Key accountabilities:

• Work with and assist the Research Team in the implementation of The Charity’s strategic goals and research strategy.
• Undertake research related projects as requested by the Chief Scientific Officer to further the aims of The Charity to transform the research landscape to support people in living longer, better lives following a brain tumour diagnosis.
• Assist with the continued development and maintenance of our research management database as an ongoing resource for future grant rounds, as well as for regular reporting and financial management of current grants.
• Support the administration of The Charity’s grant application, monitoring and review processes, including liaising with researchers and assessment panels.
• Support the peer reviewing of submitted proposals by identifying keywords in applications and expert reviewers for those areas, and ensuring reviews and scores are completed within strict deadlines.
• Organise and attend panel meetings including liaising with attendees and venues, preparing and distributing panel packs, and taking minutes and producing summaries where necessary.
• Monitor the progress of current grants through review of annual reports as well as regular engagement with The Charity’s funded researchers outside of reporting timelines.
• Financial monitoring of awarded grants and maintain accurate records of expenditure.
• Maintain accurate electronic records to track grant applications and awarded grants.
• Respond to enquiries about The Charity’s funded research, research strategy and calls for applications from researchers, the general public and colleagues within The Charity.
• Assist in ensuring the scientific accuracy of internal and external communications around the research programme, for example in feedback letters, mail outs, newsletters, website content and press releases.
