Purpose of this role YMCA Thames Gateway offers support and accommodation to young people in need and children in care. The service aims to help young people develop the skills and knowledge to be able to live independently and improve their life chances. The Head of Support will be the strategic lead of the Young Futures Programme and ensure that accommodation and support services are delivered in a regulatory and contractually compliant way. About the Role: .The Head of Advocacy and Campaigns will lead the development and delivery of a UK and international advocacy strategy, as well as overseeing our policy and campaigns functions. The postholder will Raise MAP’s profile, trust and reputation among target audiences including UK Parliament, the UK Government, international institutions, and NGO partners and campaigning groups.
Responsibilities
Leadership of MAP’s UK and international advocacy and campaigning
• Lead MAP’s advocacy and campaigns, ensuring professional and impactful political influencing with key targets including Government, Civil Service, Parliament, and international institutions.
• Collaborate with the Deputy Director and colleagues in Palestine and Lebanon to align MAP’s advocacy with programs, partners, and civil society networks, fostering participatory models to amplify community voices.
• Lead and manage a team, setting clear development objectives, ensuring effective delivery, meeting organisational objectives, and fostering an innovative and creative approach
• Working closely with colleagues in the Communications Team, oversee the development of impactful campaigns to mobilise supporters, the public and media to raise awareness, influence public narratives and drive action by the UK and other governments.
• Ensure strong working relationships with relevant colleagues, adopting and encouraging a collaborative working approach and building advocacy capacities across teams
• Collaborate with the Fundraising Team to identify and pursue opportunities for team growth, in line with organisational objectives.
• Represent MAP at meetings and briefings with key stakeholders and targets, and brief senior colleagues on strategy.
• Build a strong network of campaigning partners and contacts to help expand the reach and impact of our campaigns.

Advocacy and Campaigns Strategy
• Collaborate with the Director and Deputy Director to develop and deliver a robust UK advocacy and political influencing strategy, aiming to secure impactful foreign and aid policy actions from the UK government and stakeholders to uphold Palestinians' rights to health, dignity, and justice.
• Develop and oversee a targeted international advocacy strategy, identifying opportunities and tactics to influence policies and actions of the US, European countries, and UN forums, supporting MAP’s advocacy priorities.
• Oversee the development of creative and impactful campaigns to engage the UK and international public, civil society partners and influencers with MAP’s advocacy priorities – and work with the fundraising team to integrate advocacy and fundraising campaigns.
• Develop power mapping of key policymakers, thought influencers and relevant institutions, and develop stakeholder engagement plans in line with strategic objectives.
• Set quantifiable and timely targets to deliver on this strategy and implement through effective project management.
• Implement monitoring, evaluation and learning processes to ensure the team’s work remains ambitious and impactful and produce regular reporting for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Plan and identify key influencing milestones throughout the year and put in place outputs and work to use them to maximal effect.
• Promote MAP’s advocacy priorities and improve collective impact through strategic partnerships with other agencies, organisations, institutions and campaigning networks across the humanitarian and human rights sectors and beyond
Policy and research leadership
• Oversee research and analysis to support policy and campaign objectives, ensuring evidence-based insights inform advocacy efforts.
• Work with the Deputy Director and Programmes teams to develop impact-focused research streams in line with our advocacy priorities and the data and insights produced by Programmes and partners
• Lead on the promotion of MAP’s research, insights and policy products in line with our advocacy and influencing strategies.
• Work with the Deputy Director and Programmes teams to develop new participatory models of research and policy development with the communities we serve
• Lead the creation and coordination of MAP’s policy positioning, identifying goals and avenues for influence to achieve them, and analysing risk and strategies for mitigation.
• Oversee and maintain effective mapping of the policy positioning of key targets of influence, using this to inform the wider advocacy and campaigns work and creating innovative ways to make the case to and move targets through influence.
• Develop tools to ensure MAP’s policy positions, advocacy calls and insights are recorded and well communicated internally.
• Commission and provide detailed review of research and advocacy products, to ensure the highest standards of quality and evidence and alignment with MAP’s policies, positioning and language guidelines, and ensure they are concise, audience-focused and impactful.

Job Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in developing and or delivering effective advocacy and campaigns strategies and outputs, including through effective political and policy influence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong network of national and international policymakers & civil society partners.
- Excellent eye to detail, particularly as regards to the factual basis of advocacy materials, and commitment to high quality writing and editing.
- Strong organisational and time management skills: ability to prioritise team’s work, and multi-task in a fast-paced work setting, sometimes with distressing content.
- Strong ability to represent MAP professionally at all times and acting as a spokesperson for an organisation when required.
- Strong understanding of UK and international policymaking landscape and levers of influence
- An understanding of humanitarian and aid policy, international humanitarian and human rights law, and key political debates on issues relevant to MAP’s work
- Strong understanding of research quantitative and qualitative research methodologies relevant to impact-focused research
- Fluency in English, spoken and written, is essential Arabic is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience working in national international political environment, public affairs and advocacy in the humanitarian or human rights sector

About the Deputy Head of Scout Adventures Role:
This role is essential to ensuring Scout Adventures is positively impactful in the delivery of our charitable objectives. You will be expected to implement strategy, manage resource, and lead teams to achieve operational excellence. Key responsibilities as our Deputy Head of Scout Adventures:
- Manage centre teams to ensure that adventure is delivered effectively and safely across our network. This is currently spread across 5 locations with a forecast throughput of 100,000 young people in 2025. Team size (excluding circa 120 volunteers) is forecast to be 35 FTE in 2025, continuing to grow with the business.
- Provide strong leadership to Centre Managers and operational teams by motivating, inspiring and challenging them to develop both themselves and their business
- Design, implement and manage income and expenditure budgets across each centre, ensuring that forecasts are kept up to date throughout the year.
- In partnership with the Facilities Manager, ensure that centres always remain safe and compliant, ensuring that timely action is taken to address faults or hazards as required.
Other essential criteria
- Regular travel across the UK is a key part of this role. A full UK driving licence is therefore essential as lots of our centres are not easily accessible by public transport.

The Role

The Eve Appeal is the UK’s leading charity working on prevention of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. Our aim is to prevent gynaecological cancers and save lives by raising awareness and funding ground-breaking research focused on risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for all of the five gynae cancers.
What's this role about?
This exciting position is responsible for delivering our fundraising programme to the public, with support from our Deputy Head of Fundraising.
You will focus on delivering key fundraising activities and an exceptional experience to a wide range of supporters, ensuring that you deepen relationships and maximise value. You will also coordinate and deliver the marketing of our public fundraising activity, alongside colleagues in communications and digital engagement.
The role works across three key areas:
- Individual giving (direct marketing, regular giving, in-memory)

About the opportunity
The Head of School Marketing will lead and deliver comprehensive, cross-organisational marketing initiatives that result in an increase in the number of schools partnering with Action Tutoring. This role will define, deliver and adapt marketing strategies that effectively communicate the charity's value proposition to schools, leading to increased interest and sales. Youth Futures was founded in 2019 as an independent, not-for-profit organisation with funding from dormant assets to drive systemic change by:
- Giving grants to organisations that provide employment support to young people so that we can generate compelling evidence with high quality impact evaluation methodologies
- Driving evidence-based change in policy and working with employers and practitioners to improve practice. We help to connect and empower those who are commissioning and delivering youth employment services.
The Senior Economist / Evidence and Evaluation Manager will work in a dedicated Impact and Evidence directorate, working at the heart of Youth Futures Foundation.
You will be central to our ambition to create the largest repository of robust evidence and evaluations of what works to support young people into good jobs. In the directorate, you will support the Heads of Evaluation, the Deputy Director and Director to ensure all Youth Futures’ investments are designed to provide robust evidence of what works. Primarily, you will support the Heads of Evaluation and the Deputy Director in the design of new impact evaluations and lead on their commissioning and management.
Our priority for this post holder is to work on our What Works Programme 2, which designs and funds impact evaluations, including (Randomised Controlled Trials and Quasi-Experimental designs) of youth employment interventions.
The Senior Economist / Evidence and Evaluation Manager will also contribute to the development of our suite of ‘evaluation architecture’, enhancing our data infrastructure and administrative dataset access, as well as methodological guidance and standards. These will ensure that, as the What Works Centre for youth employment, our evidence is as credible and useful as possible.
You will additionally support other aspects of the Evidence and Evaluation team’s commissioning. This may include developing policies and processes supporting effective evaluation methodology design, working closely with Youth Futures’ Programmes and Grants directorate. You will also work with our Policy and Communications and Employer Engagement directorates to ensure that all evaluation and evidence outputs are high quality and make clear, practical and impactful recommendations for practice and policy.
We are a multi-disciplinary team, and we welcome applications from those who have interest and experience in impact evaluation gained through commissioning or delivery experience.
This role can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds. We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.
