Key Responsibilities 

Oversee the Youth Voice programme

• Oversee the day to day running of The Mix’s Youth Voice programme, ensuring its alignment with
  The Mix’s strategy
• Lead the management of a database with 500+ young people, overseeing monthly reporting and
  data reviews
• Cultivate and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for active youth participation
• Matrix manage a team of dedicated Youth Voice staff leads, providing guidance, support, and
  fostering collaboration
• Design and deliver Youth Voice training for all staff to equip everyone for meaningful involvement
  of young people in their work
• Advocate for the meaningful involvement of young people in all aspects of The Mix’s internal and
  partnership work from ideation through to evaluation
• Collaborate with internal teams and prominent brands and organisations to integrate youth insights
  into decision-making processes
• Lead Youth Voice projects, emphasising the amplification of young people’s voices while managing
• timelines and budgets effectively

  these roles
• Quality assure all session plans and engagement activities across the organisation

Person Specification

Essential

• A commitment to advocating for young people’s voices and ideas, with a drive to support and create
  opportunities for them to have ownership of spaces that they use
• Experience embedding youth participation frameworks within organisations
• Knowledge and understanding of Youth Voice frameworks and models
• Experience in group facilitation and an understanding of the co-design process
• Experience overcoming key obstacles in embedding youth voice frameworks

Overall Purpose of the Head of Research

• To lead the delivery of the charity’s strategic research aims including managing and further developing Guts UK’s grants programme, managing our small research team, working with research partners and networks to raise awareness of our work and outcomes, further develop impact, and continue to develop and embed patient and public involvement (PPI) in our research.

Your Role: Membership, Programmes and Events Support Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Contract: Fixed Term for six months - November 2024 to April 2025. We are open to applications from a PhD student or Early Career Academic.

Hours: 21 (0.6FTE). The post holder will also be expected to attend and support the PSA25 Annual Conference taking place in Birmingham from 14 -16 April 2025. 

Salary:  0.6 FTE of £25k. The post holder will additionally be compensated for in-person attendance and providing support during the Annual Conference period.

Location: All roles are based at our offices in Camden London but the PSA currently supports its staff to work remotely. Post-holders will be required, however, to come into our offices regularly (normally once a week on a Wednesday). The Membership, Programmes and Events team is a friendly bunch who work closely together with responsibility for operations and output across a wide range of our activities. These include: membership, networks, specialist groups, programmes, communications, events including the Annual Lecture and PSA Annual Conference. We are looking for someone to join the team in the six-month run up to, and including attendance at, the PSA25 Annual Conference which is our major event of the year.

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

You will be working within our Housing team to deliver an effective advice service for young people. You should be experienced in delivering housing advice within a youth and community or other relevant setting, of supporting clients with multiple and complex needs, and have a proven track record of referring and progressing vulnerable people into suitable accommodation. Sharing best practice

To proactively share best practice with internal and external stakeholders in order to maximise the impact of the work of NHYC. This will include:

1. Identifying and acting to maximise NHYC’s profile by seeking out and responding to opportunities with specialists and agencies who might offer resources, funding, or individual services relevant to client needs.
2. Promoting and representing NHYC at relevant forums, meetings and events.

Information management

  Main tasks and responsibilities

  Young people's services

  Delivering a resettlement service to young people with multiple needs. This will include:

• Working to ensure young people receive a high-quality service from the point of registration to the move-on. Taking a hands-on approach to dealing with complex or difficult cases and ensuring the quality of support plans to create opportunities to promote independence.
• Managing a caseload of internally referred clients with additional needs as they transition out of homelessness, ensuring that the necessary support structures are in place to facilitate successful tenancy sustainment.
• Carrying out thorough needs assessments and putting in place support plans with young people accessing the resettlement programme.
• Providing expert advice and guidance on Accommodation, Welfare Benefits, Housing Benefit and Tenancy rights, Legal Services, and Employment, Education & Training. Monitoring and evaluating young people’s progress.
• Building and maintaining effective partnerships with accommodation providers and external stakeholders, in addition to cultivating and strengthening existing relationships.
• Referring young people to other internal New Horizon Youth Centre teams in order to support their progression, including Health and Jobs, Education and Training.
• Providing advocacy and referring young people to a wide range of specialist external services including around advocacy, substance misuse, mental health, immigration, counselling, financial/debt advice, and legal services.
• Attending regular briefings, team meetings, reflective practice and clinical supervision, both with NHYC and project partners. Ensuring that Health and Safety or safeguarding issues are addressed at all times.
  
  Sharing best practice

• To proactively share best practice with internal and external stakeholders in order to maximise the impact of the work of NHYC. This will include:

• Identifying and acting to maximise NHYC’s profile by seeking out and responding to opportunities with specialists and agencies who might offer resources, funding, or individual services relevant to client needs.
• Promoting and representing NHYC at relevant forums, meetings and events.

• Information management

  To produce and maintain accurate and useful information in a range of formats in order to promote effective service delivery and evaluation. This will include:

• Recording all contacts with clients appropriately and maintaining all relevant files and recording systems.
• Producing written reports in a variety of formats to meet the requirements of NHYC, external service providers and funders, e.g., project reviews and assessment reports.
• Inputting and extracting information from client monitoring systems and other accounting and database systems. Utilising other relevant software for the production of reports.
• Being self-servicing in day-to-day administration, and following team and NHYC’s administrative procedures.

• Reviewing personal and professional development needs

  To be proactive in reviewing and evaluating own performance and identifying and acting upon areas for improvement. This will include:

• Reviewing and evaluating own performance to identify strengths and areas for development. Identifying own learning/development needs and opportunities.
• Undertaking development and training opportunities and being responsible for obtaining maximum benefit through review, reflection and practice.
• Taking a proactive approach to supervision including regular line management supervision, team meetings, team reflective practice and clinical supervision.
  
  Other

• To contribute positively and constructively to the development of the team, the service and the centre. This will include:

• Covering for other members of the team where necessary.
• Following NHYC’s policies, procedures and performance expectations in all functions of the post.
• Undertaking as required any other duties compatible with the level and nature of the post and/or reasonably required by the Service Manager, Head of Services, Director of Operations or CEO.

We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator. 

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows. 

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.

To be the Dementia specialist for Shine.

To provide the foundations for improved health, social and emotional outcomes for adults living with NPH/Dementia and to support their families/carers.

We are seeking an Impact and Evaluation Manager to work closely with our Head of Data and Impact and Senior Data and Impact Officer. A key part of the role will be helping develop further how we evaluate the impact of our programmes. You’ll also be responsible for producing reports for different audiences including external partners and staff members delivering the IntoUniversity programme in our centres, and supporting with the management of our Salesforce database. As part of a small team, you’ll be involved in impact projects and providing key data support from the start.

The main duties of the role

• To work with the Impact and Operations teams to improve programme evaluation, including designing qualitative and quantitative impact and process evaluations.
• To lead the delivery of evaluations, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• To act as an impact expert for the charity, using data and impact reporting internally and externally to develop IntoUniversity’s strategic goals
• To play a key role in the formal data and impact reporting for the charity including the production of Impact Reports and annual university reports, and ensuring the impact microsite is kept up to date.
• To prepare reports on the performance of the charity, collating data and presenting it in clear formats for a variety of internal and external audiences including: staff delivering the programme; Regional Operations Managers; the charity’s Senior Leadership and Senior Management teams; Trustees; Donors; University partners.
• To develop and maintain expertise in research and evaluation methodologies
• To keep abreast of research and policy developments in relation to the higher education and charity sectors.
• To lead on developing and delivering Impact training for new and existing staff. 
• To support the management of IntoUniversity’s Salesforce database including the maintenance of database records, creation of new features, producing and analysing reports, supporting and training staff in itsuse, and reviewing the effectiveness of the database as a monitoring tool. Salesforce training will be provided.
• To support members of the delivery team with Salesforce queries and requests for data and analysis.
• To represent the charity at relevant conferences and events.

The post is a three-day per week job-share with one of the current librarians. Together they will support the diverse information needs of the users at Anna Freud including both staff and students.
The two part-time Librarians share the responsibility for the management, and promotion of the library’s services and resources and for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality information service that meets the needs and aims of Anna Freud.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Director who will be responsible for the work of the charity within the UK. The Director will be the strategic and day to day leader of the UK organisation and will also work hands-on not only with his/her direct reports but also all teams in the office. We are seeking a leader who can take the UK charity’s fundraising to new heights; thus, this is a particularly important focus area.

The role will be directly overseeing the World Cancer Research Fund UK’s Fundraising and Health Information Departments. You will report to the CEO and work in partnership with the UK CEO and other senior executives in updating and implementing the organisation’s strategy and objectives. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of directing and leading a similar sized UK philanthropic organisation (or a fundraising team within a larger charity), including writing and implementing strategies and evaluating outcomes. You will have proven experience of delivering fundraising objectives as well as a strong track record in communications and up to date knowledge of social media and digital strategies. Substantial experience of management of teams at both strategic and tactical level including developing skills, abilities, performance management and confidence in staff is required as are high level speaking skills.
