Main Purpose of the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team at Camden Carers and make a difference to the lives of carers and families in Camden. We are looking for a hardworking, innovative, enthusiastic and flexible team member who is able to adapt to the ever changing and challenging times we find ourselves currently in.
As a part of the Support & Wellbeing Team, you will be required to identify Young Adult Carers aged 18-30 years from all communities in the London Borough of Camden, who care for a family member, partner or friend with a disability or long-term illness. You will provide relevant and appropriate support, information and advocacy to Young Adult Carers. You will lead on developing and maintaining effective partnerships with other statutory and voluntary services as well as developing a service to support Young Adult Carers who are also NEET (not in education, employment or training).
Carers Trust estimate that there are at least 600,000 Young Adult Carers in the UK.
A consultation carried out in 2023 showed that over 75% of Young Adult Carers in Camden have poor emotional/mental health and poor physical health. The study also highlighted that high numbers of Young Adult Carers require support with finances, employment, education and managing personal relationships.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for an energetic, talented and reliable candidate to coordinate our schools’ outreach team, inspiring high-quality applications for funding from Year 12s. Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. Job Purpose
Growing Hope is a national charity with a growing number of clinics across the UK. This operations role will provide support across the Growing Hope national staff team. This will include support with administration, finance, fundraising and training. This role is key in enabling all the functions of the national charity to run smoothly and effectively. Main Duties and Responsibilities

IT administration

- Overseeing and training others in Canopy (clinic administration software) and helping support and problem solve with using this. This includes liaising with a freelance software developer to manage the development project.
HR administration
- Oversight of the recruitment checking process for new volunteers, trustees, freelancers and employees. This includes carrying out DBS checks, calling referees, chasing for references and communicating with individuals as they start with Growing Hope.
- Management of the ‘internal news’ list in order to track individuals working closely with the charity.
- Writing, drafting and sending out HR letters, contracts and contract variations.
- Organising internal events on behalf of the team including away days, training days and ad hoc events.
- Organising online training as required for members of the Growing Hope team.
Office Support
- Overseeing the day to day office and building use including the alarm, maintenance visits, wifi, printer and other equipment. This includes liaising with other individuals who have office use.
- Liaising with the Director of Operations around the use of the office.
- Ordering office supplies as required, ensuring office space and storage is kept organised.

About the role
As the Operations Officer you will provide dedicated support to the Start Funds' portfolio, currently comprising the global Start Fund, Start Fund Bangladesh, Start Fund Nepal and the Ukraine locally-led pooled fund. The role will contribute to ensuring that Start Funds' awards are efficiently and effectively managed, provide support to the financial management of the Start Fund programmes, implement the fund's approach to and management of risk and compliance, and assist with procurement.
In this role, you will:
Operational and programme management:
- Support the Start Funds Operations Advisor in maintaining effective award management processes, in close coordination with SCUK as Grant Custodian to the Start Network
- Support in ensuring that Start Funds' programmes are fully compliant with grants and contracts and managed in-line with relevant SCUK and Start Network policies and practices
