Job Purpose: We are looking to recruit an empathic, warm, friendly, hard-working and flexible person who is passionate about improving young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health. They must be a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage their own workload. They must be able to work independently within the community.

Salary: £ 26,000 - £29,120

Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Working pattern is Monday 12:30am-8:30pm, Tuesday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Wednesday 10.30am to 6:30pm, Thursday 9:00am -5:00pm, Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm.

Location: Phoenix Youth Centre plus working across locations in East Surrey as necessary.

Annual leave:  Five weeks plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time workers) Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of six weeks after six years’ service.  (pro-rata for part time workers) 

The holiday year runs from 1  April to 31 March each year.

About us:   

At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, we care for children and young adults with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes.

Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family; including overnight care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much, much more. 

It costs around £6.5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. Statutory funding makes up 16% of this amount and the rest is raised through fundraising activity.

Our services include overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team supports these families in our modern, purpose-built building. All our rooms/bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.

We support families from a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The hospice is easily accessible from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and North Notts. We have free secure on-site parking for families and staff to use. 

The role:

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as the Events Fundraiser teamed with a commercial sales focus. This role requires a unique blend of fundraising expertise and commercial acumen to drive our vision forward. To manage an engaging programme of supporter events at Bluebell Wood including budget forecasting and reconciliation.

Job Overview

The Video Editor will be responsible for post-production edits of video deliverables. The candidate must be a visual storyteller, capable of delivering compelling and engaging stories about the IRC’s response to emergencies and crises and the people who are impacted.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Content, collaborating with the Sr. Video Editor, video editor, freelance editors, and producers on editing and delivering video products that will be used for major integrated priorities and campaigns for all marketing efforts and audience segments.

● Deliver finished video for various platforms and distribution needs, which includes editing together raw footage and audio, photo stills, graphics, adapting archival video, and versioning

Lancashire Mind is a local charity working to prevent poor mental health. We support people experiencing common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. We work with children and adults, offering universal services to help people improve their mental wellbeing, along with targeted services for people and communities at increased risk of experiencing poor mental health or facing mental health inequalities. Royal Museums Greenwich is a collection of diverse historical sites. The sites are the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, and the Queen’s House. Each of these sites has a unique identity and a common purpose to serve our communities, through sharing our collections and expertise. We are a place to explore the sea, space, art and history, and our strategy ‘Charting Our Course’ puts people at the core of its success.

Working in the Engagement department and reporting to the Adults and Communities Participation Manager, the Communities Participation Producer will create a year-round public programme of activities inspired by the collections, themes and sites of Royal Museums Greenwich. Key responsibilities include producing and delivering programmes in collaboration with community partners and stakeholders to create relevant, inclusive and inspiring activity across the Museum’s multiple sites. The role will focus on creating activity that welcomes underrepresented audiences to Royal Museums Greenwich sites, developing trusted relationships in the process and responding to the social purpose of the organisation.

The role will develop programmes that connect communities and collections around the legacies of empire, queer histories and stories of migration. This will involve working across generations to  facilitate dialogue around under-represented histories and current issues in a variety of formats including large scale public festivals, talks, workshops and more. The role will have a focus on developing participation opportunities for African and Caribbean and East and South-East Asian diaspora, as well as LGBTQ+ communities, to develop stronger connections with the collection and bring new perspectives to maritime history. This will involve audience research and internal dialogue to create supportive spaces and activity at Royal Museums Greenwich and contribute towards it becoming a more inclusive and representative organisation.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of delivering a range of inclusive cultural engagement provision for diverse audiences, including large-scale public events, and creating audience-led programmes for African and Caribbean/ East Asian/ South-East Asian diaspora communities. The postholder will have a track record of building strong partnerships with communities and stakeholders, along with experience of writing and producing resources and promotional materials for a range of target audiences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role, as is a passion for activating and supporting dialogue around the legacies of empire, queer histories and stories of migration. The postholder will be innovative, imaginative, creative and self-motivated; highly-organised, able to work to deadlines across multiple projects while managing a budget; and have the ability to undertake some evening and weekend working.

This is a full time, permanent role in Band 5 – Management and Proficient Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, working 5 days between the hours of 9am-5pm. On occasion, some evening and weekend work is required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a community organiser with a strong project management background, or a project manager who has trained as a community organiser to help us grow a new project, The Help Desk, while overseeing our Open Collective service. Open Collective is a platform which enables groups to transparently and collaboratively manage their funds. We fiscally host around 600 groups using OC – they are supported by a Programmes Assistant, who would be managed by this role. This will give you oversight of the service and provide you valuable insights into the needs of groups.

The Help Desk is a new project in SCN which will support our growing community of grassroots groups and movements within our ecosystem. Over the next 4 years, we are planning to build a strong, vibrant and supportive community amongst our groups, with access to resources, training and mentorship/networking and fundraising opportunities. You will be responsible for project managing the build-out of the Help Desk and developing and organising the SCN community. This includes monitoring progress and reporting against the funding secured. While some plans and activities have already begun, you would be expected to further shape the vision of the Help Desk, pivoting in response to feedback and learnings.

You will work closely across the Delivery Team to ensure that the Help Desk is relevant to the different types of groups we host, as well as the Head of Programmes, who you will support in consolidating insights for sharing with partners. Together with the Business Development team, you will also be responsible for exploring the income streams required for the following 5 years. You will also be managing the overall project budget alongside managing mentors, staff, volunteers, interns, and leaders, where appropriate.

ABOUT YOU

The role would suit someone that understands the needs of community groups and the pressure and challenges they face as they scale their impact, while also having agile and creative project management skills. A large part of the role is getting to know the groups and to support both the development of network weaving across the groups and building out the resources they need. Because of this, you will enjoy connecting with people from different backgrounds, and have good problem-solving skills.

As you will have oversight of our Open Collective service, you will need to have some understanding of how community groups could use tech platforms to support their infrastructure and how this can relate to their impact. You will also be managing one member of staff and while you will be given training and support, some management experience is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be open to learning and growing with us as we build our programmes and services. On top of seeking out partnerships and opportunities that will help SCN better support its community groups, you will be regularly holding spaces for groups to connect and feeding back any relevant insights to the team. You should have a good understanding of the power dynamics and community trauma that exists at this level of organising and be able to act as a bridge between SCN and the social impact of the groups.

As a small team working directly with the groups and to a project plan, you will be outgoing, proactive, very organised and good at managing various tasks at the same time. You will be keen to make an impact in a small team and be hungry for searching out opportunities to develop yourself, the Help Desk and the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As Programme and Community Development Lead, you will be responsible for supporting and building out the community of grassroots groups and movements across all of SCN. This may involve organising events, further developing our communications, seeking out and maintaining partnerships with relevant service providers. Note that this is a new and emerging role and you will also be expected to help input on its direction depending on the needs of the groups and the opportunities in the sector. The role will involve:

• Project Design, Planning & Reporting – 25%
  • Be responsible for the build-out of the Help Desk (project plans, timelines, and budget etc.) and coordinate across SCN to ensure timely delivery
  • Monitor the outreach and impact of the Help Desk
  • Report back to internal stakeholders (primarily the Head of Programmes and the CEO) on progress, risks, and learnings
  • Draft any financial and narrative reports required by grants funding the Help Desk, with the support of the Head of Programmes
  • Work alongside the Business Development team to build SCN’s profile and raise awareness of the Help Desk, e.g., by presenting at relevant events

  • Build and maintain networks, e.g., SCN Facebook group for grassroots groups, Founders’ Mailing List
  • Directly support SCN’s groups where possible, e.g., short calls to help diagnose their challenges and signpost them to relevant resources
  • Plan and host regular convenings, trainings, and workshops, both virtual and in-person, to help groups connect with each other and to other relevant service providers
  • Further develop SCN’s Resource Hub and keep it updated
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with other relevant service providers, creating a network of infrastructure support for SCN’s groups
  • Develop and support mentoring networks for groups as needed
  • With the comms team, develop and oversee a comms strategy to ensure regular communications with networks and stakeholders

Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice are looking for a press officer to oversee our press and communications as we fight to ensure the mistakes from the pandemic are never repeated again.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage the press office for an organisation which in recent years has been at the forefront of some of the biggest news stories in the country, including the Covid Inquiry, ‘Partygate’ and many more.

We are looking for someone who supports our cause of ensuring that the mistakes made in the pandemic are never repeated and has good people skills to work sensitively with those who have been bereaved by Covid-19.

You will be one of a four person staff team working alongside our Directors and over 7,000 members who are all personally bereaved. You will be line managed by our campaign manager.
